"Democrats" working hard to eliminate (or are they only "talking tough" about eliminating ???) GOP-Conservative "control" over NYS Senate

Another war of sorts is kinduh "declared" on the ersatz leadership coalition running the New York State Senate  ---   but, just remember this (>>>  BTW, don't even think about "As Time Goes By" !!! <<<)  just because it's ersatz and it looks weak,  don't think that the GOP-Conservative-IDC NYS Senate coalition won't continue to survive and prosper as Andy Cuomo's rubber stamp in the Albany.....

According to Julianne Cuba,  in her Boro politics column,  "Party Line,"  for the Courier Life's "Brooklyn Daily":  "....   Four high-ranking party members penned a letter to the state Senate Minority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D–Westchester) and the breakaway leader Jeff Klein (D–Bronx) on Nov. 27 pressing them to forge an alliance — and threatening Klein’s faction with primary challengers and Stewart-Cousins with a leadership shake-up if they don’t come to terms...."  (See "Deutsch to scuttle own firm by year’s end"  bJulianne Cuba,  11/30/17,   Courier Life's Brooklyn Daily/  News/ Party Line   [https://www.brooklyndaily.com/stories/2017/48/pl-party-line-2017-12-01-bk.html]).  It remains to be seen whether this will make any difference  ---  this time around,  because

---  Cue Harry James & Helen O'Connell  ---

"(Da-dump dah dum, dadumpdahdum... Da-dump dah dum, dadumpdahdum)
It seems to me I've heard that song before
It's from an old familiar scoreI know it well, that melodyIt's funny how a theme recalls a favorite dreamA dream that brought you so close to meI know each word because I've heard that song beforeThe lyrics said "Forever more"Forever more's a memoryPlease have them play it againAnd I'll remember just when
I heard that lovely song before...."  HJ & HO'C by Styne & Cahn
(BTW, not a show tune)

Nonetheless,  in the same column as cited above,  Ms. Cuba did go on to quote Simcha Felder (yes, the very same Kings County Conservative Party and NYS GOP Senate Caucus favorite),  who seems to have indicated that he would switch his caucus vote to the Dems if an effort to unite NYS Senate Democratic members were to be successful.

ALL THIS FOR A MAJORITY OF NYS SENATE DEMOCRATS TO HAVE A CHANCE TO DO ANDY CUOMO'S BIDDING  ---  JUST LIKE THE GOP-CONSERVATIVE-IDC COALITION  !!!!!

  1. Galeyman, are Bob Capano and his new friends in the Reform Party going to be there to help keep what your calling the 'GOP-Conservative control over the NYS Senate' or are they going to help the 'Democrats... eliminate' it?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

  2. Bob Capano has been meeting with local and state dems are this exact issue I understand

  3. None of them have probably ever heard of Bob Capano.

Even though we declared independence from England in 1776, we did keep English as our "Mother Tongue" --- it works well, try using it.....

  17. OBSERVATION; CRITIQUE; REACTION: THE "EXHIBIT 'A' " EDITION

RE: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:55 PM"

SOMETIMES I DISLIKE RUNNING THIS BLOG MORE THAN OTHERS --- WHEN I SAW THE COMMENT THAT WENT WITH THE TAG LINE ABOVE WAS ONE OF THOSE TIMES

Take a look at the comment at issue:
"Anonymous Anonymous said... My sister bumped into Quaglione at the Knights of Colombus. He was humming 'Poor side of town'' by Johnny Rivers to himself and shopping for tinsel....
    December 2, 2017 at 2:55 PM"

This "sister" must be some kind of "Rain Man" savant; OR a confidential investigator professionally stalking Mr. Quaglione for some reason that is not made clear within the four corners of the comment.

One thing is clear, however, either John Quaglione is some kind of retro-Christmas decorator, or somebody wants us to think that he is. Tinsel !!!!! Does anybody really believe that John Q actually was "... shopping for tinsel" --- I, for one, don't think it for a minute.

As for the musical reference --- all I can say for sure is that "... 'Poor side of town' by Johnny Rivers..." is NOT a "Show Tune".....

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID ... AT 5:54 AM"

I AGREE WITH MOST OF WHAT YOU SAID --- BUT LOOK AT THIS THROUGH SOME DIFFERENT EYES FOR A SECOND

From my eyes, if it's true, this is a bit of real news for a change (and not just snarky nonsense).....

From BC's eyes, it's more talk about him --- and whether it's true or false, it's a win, win.....

From Craig Eaton's eyes (and doesn't he have special sleepy eyes), more or less the same as from BC's eyes.....

From JQ's eyes, "Uh, ... what? ... Who? ...Where? Well, who cares; he still only got 1%...."

From Marty Golden's eyes, "What time is it ??? Where's the Murine ??? Why does GM think Eaton's eyes are prettier than mine ???"

  20. UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "RUGGED GOOD LOOKS" EDITION

HEY FOLKS I HAD A LITTLE CHIN-WAG ON THE "DON AMECHE" WITH NONE OTHER THAN LIAM (THE ARTIST FORMERLY KNOWN AS 'WILL') MC CABE --- YESTERDAY

According to the former GOP Primary candidate for City Council in the 43rd Council District, he's laying low and enjoying it.....

He's also channeling a bit of "Old Blue Eyes" (gee, what's with all this eye stuff this morning... and to quote Marty, "Where's the murine ???" --- but, back to Liam), regrets he's got a few... [but he's not ready] to face the final curtain.....

He DID have some observations about the current political scene:

    1) He kept his part of the "big deal" that three (3) of the GOP council candidates did enter into;

    2) Bob Capano doesn't have a clue how hard it is to get a third party up and running (and then keep it there in place and functioning, year after year); but he said Bob will find out quick enough that he's years and years and years behind where Jerry Kassar and the Booklyn Conservatives are right now (and that's not even talking about Mike Long and the state-wide apparatus, which is 100% behind the Brooklyn wing of the NYSCP);

    3) Liam thinks that the GOP primary was meaner and nastier than it needed to be; but in spite of that, JQ could have >>> and should have <<< won the general election;

    4) Brannan will be tough to beat in any re-election race, but it's not impossible..... and

    5) Politically, Liam is keeping his eyes (yep, "eyes" again) and "all of his options" --- OPEN.....

AND THIS TID-BIT >>> Liam was calling me back from a mall; and Christine was looking at dresses (BTW -- 2017 is out [no news there, it IS December, after all]).....

    ReplyDelete
  21. Liam has a future in the GOP. Bob has aligned his reform party with the Dems.

One thing is consistent. Bob has never missed a meal.

    ReplyDelete
  22. What you are all forgetting or never realized is that Jerry Kassar has once again directly caused deep divisions within the Brooklyn GOP. After the primary, Bob Capano was all set to run Steve Saperstein's City Council campaign which would have been a win win for all. Bob would get to remain relevant in Brooklyn, Saperstein would get some desperately needed political direction. But Jerry had to get his cronies paid and made the call to get Capano removed from Saperstein's campaign. That's when Bob "remembered" he was still on the ballot in the 43rd Councilmanic district.

    ReplyDelete
  23. To 9:42 you made a valid point. Bob takes a while to see things. He hasnt seen the top of his shoes since the 8th grade.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Most comments have been about the relevance of the reform party. True it has no ideology but it provides opposition and voters have recognized that. Gentile getting 48% in bay ridge for DA shows that. Bob not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Comment at 9:42 is right. All this happened because Jerry couldn't leave well enough alone and let Bob work with Steve on his campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 942 is exactly right..if Kassar didn't push Capano out of Saperstein campaign Capano would not have run full steam ahead on reform line and cost Q the ELECTION...BUT is that what Kassar really wanted..to make sure Q did not win...then this makes sense!

To 926 if Chairman Capano has aligned his reform party with dems in Brooklyn and Liam has "a future with the GOP" then Capano looks like a winner as the Brooklyn GOP is dead

    ReplyDelete
  27. The Brooklyn GOP is dead as long as Jerry Kassar controls it with his puppet Ted Ghorra. That's what Jerry always wanted to make the Cons the number two party in Brooklyn. But now even former Ghorra supporters are wisening up after the latest campaign. Through either his total incompetence or sabotage he wrecked John and Steve's campaigns.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Bob- May the Lord be with you and the Reform Party.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Who the hell is saperstein? Another 1%er

    ReplyDelete
  30. Let's recap and hand it over to Terry Bradshaw at the news desk. Terry?

I- Quaglione (a.k.a Ben McAdoo) is a two-time loser with 20 years of fealty to Senator Golden

II- Liam is taking a job in the deBlasio Administration so his political career is over

III- Capano gets 1% but comes out the other end smelling like a rose with his stock on the rise

    ReplyDelete
  31. Saperstein was a Republican running for City Council and after the primary had a deal with Bob to run his campaign until Kassar called and threatened him. That's when Bob decided to start actively campaigning on the reform line.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is it too soon to call Kassar the new Moe Greene?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I can't believe how stupid Kassar is...he helped elevate Capano

    ReplyDelete
  34. So this is all about bob getting or not getting a $500 check from saperstein? i guess I'm not used to this big time politics.

    ReplyDelete
  35. five hundred bucks can feed bob for a week

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is Q back to work yet or is he still at Cliffside Malibu?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I heard Saperstein is blaming his loss on Curtis Sliwa who publicly trashed Saperstein and took back his endorsement of him on his WABC radio show the night before the election because Saperstein sides with Kassar over Capano

    ReplyDelete
  38. 319
Yes I heard same thing..once again Capano shows his relevance on Brooklyn politics

    ReplyDelete
  39. Saperstein decided not to hire Capano as his campaign manager when Bob announced he was going to be an active candidate on the Reform line.

    Can you really blame Saperstein?

Bob can't bag groceries, run for city council AND run someone else's city council campaign in a different district, all at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The jig is ip about Kassar. Either he's the most incompetent operative around or he's making deals with the Democrats. Any campaign he's involved in is wrecked.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Saperstein is a smart guy who figured out that Kassar played him like a mandolin. Nothing he can do about it. He hung Steve out to dry so he can promote Dave Storobin.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I also think the jig us up for. Mr. Jerry O'Brien who had another 0 FOR primary and general elections this year as a consultant...Letitia Remeuro is the new up and coming go to Republican consultant in NYC while O'Brien lost whatever little credibility he had left with his candidates McCabe and Saperstein this year

    ReplyDelete
  43. Dunno how you can say Leticia Remauro is "up and coming" when she's been around since Goldwater ran for student council

    ReplyDelete
  44. Feel bad for Leticia her reputation suffered having to take orders from Kassar, just like everybody on John and Steve's team, he's already telling people that he "trying" to make a deal for Nicole to be the Lt. Gov nominee same deal that her being Astorino running mate.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nicole will be the Lieutenant Governor thanks to Kassar, and Capano and Eaton will be watching on the sidelines, as usual.

    ReplyDelete
  46. 529 You must be a comedian.

Nicole got what, 27% against a Mayor who even the Dems hated. And she was a Greek Cuban woman. In this mayoral cycle she should have at least gotten 38 %...heck, the GOP base should have given he that much plus the Dems who dont like the Mayor.

She was used and abused by Kassar and everyone I am sure is hoping that she runs for Lt Gov because Wilson, Astorino or any of the other candidates have no chance to beat Gov Cuomo, and then she will lose big again, and they can all say GoodBye Nicole forever....

    ReplyDelete
  47. 529 is correct.

And that being said, Capano and Eaton should be happy to sit on the sidelines. Why should they work on a campaign for someone who will be a two time big loser...27% and then in 2018 27% again.

Nicole is a loser. Plain and simple.....

She rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, was extremely arrogant and rude and "entitled". As if she is a big shit..

    ReplyDelete
  48. Nicole's campaign isn't the only one Kassar wrecked, John Q could have won his race if not for his meddling and Steve definitely deserved a better result. Say what you want about Capano but even he never trusted Kassar.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Nicole got 27%

    Thats 26% more than fatboy

    ReplyDelete
  50. Nicole is not going to give up her assembly seat to run for lt governor. No republican is ever going to win statewide in NY again. Sounds like like wishful thinking from a 5 time loser who already lives in staten island.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Q lives in Staten Island?

  52. RESPONSE: THE "DELICIOUS HARMONY OF DISCONTENT" EDITION

TO ALL OF THE FOLKS WHO COMMENTED ON THIS BLOG SINCE MY LAST COMMENT AT 8:49 AM

SO THIS IS WHAT A BUNCH OF CATS IN A BAG SOUND LIKE !!!!!

I don't know how many real live bodies are reflected by the last thirty-one comments --- 3, 4, 5, 6 ????? I truly doubt that it's any more than that. --- Nonetheless, the collective impotence and discontent is palpable; and oddly, the 3-, 4- or 5-part counterpoint howling results in better harmony than Three Dog Night's "Old Fashioned Love Song" (btw, NOT a show tune).

    ReplyDelete
  53. Curtis and all his people are behind bob as the reform chair in brooklyn. The other 4 county leaders will back bob just to avoid an all out war.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Nicole runs for BP

    ReplyDelete
  55. Bob- those all on all sides of the aisle respect you for standing up to KAssar-- unlike Quaglione, McCabe & Malliwhokis

    ReplyDelete
  56. Bob only stood up to Jerry when he got him off the Saperstein campaign. Nobody likes Jerry but everybody fears him, and with good reason he is so petty he actually took time out of his day to remove Bob from Steve's campaign. Imagine what else he's willing to do if he dislikes someone.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Capano and Kassar played all like a fiddle..they are good friends, go to Atlantic City twice a year together and still do..they worked together to play Quaglione and Eaton..

    ReplyDelete
  58. No leftovers on the table when bob & jerry break bread

    ReplyDelete
  59. If 707 am is correct, that would be the greatest con job in Bay Ridge history

    ReplyDelete
  60. well you gotta adnit, Capano seems to always be in the mix here..give credit where credit due

meanwhile where is Q & mccabe??????

    ReplyDelete
  61. kassar & Capano- two losers

    ReplyDelete
  62. Bob- you need to come clean

    ReplyDelete
  63. I am sure Kassar & Capano have a field day with the comp lunches in atlantic city

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jerry played Bob like a fiddle during the Primary maneuvering to get the maximum benefit for Liam and wouldn't even let him get a job with Steve Saperstein when he no longer had any use for him. Shame on Bob if he really fell for it. Anyone with any clue knows there is only one politician Jerry won't betray on a regular basis.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hold on..lots of smoke and mirrors here..
Beginning in 2016 when we all knew Capano, Quaglione and McCabe running..it was McCabe and Q sucking up to kassar..capano steered clear..

    ReplyDelete
  66. Bob thought he would easily raise lots of money and could make a deal with Kassar. Q knew Kassar was helping Liam all along but was powerless to do anything about it. When Q camp realized just how much help Kassar Puppet Ted Ghorra was giving Liam, they soured on Ghorra. Kassar as usual wheeling and dealing just making sure that Marty is the only game in town.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Bob is just in it for the food. Lots of perks to working in a supermarket.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Lots of animosity toward Bob...he must be doing something right!!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Bob, don't let the status quo haters win..keep fighting..they. attack you cause they fear you..

They keep counting you out but you persevere..
They thought you were done after Markowitz, then thought they got you put of their hair when Fossella didn't run for re-election and they certainly thought y ou were gone after Marty Golden redistricted Bob Turner out to prevent you from keeping going with him...but you came back strong yet again...and now you are Chairman Capano

    ReplyDelete
  70. 1134 Ghorra cant see beyond his toupe.....

    ReplyDelete
  71. Bob dont let the attacks stop you. When you get 1% it can only get better.

    ReplyDelete
  72. We love u Bob..you are standing up to them that's why they are attacking u

    ReplyDelete
  73. 2018 will be the year of Capano

    ReplyDelete
  74. I guarantee Capano will dominate in Brooklyn in 2018

    ReplyDelete
  75. Reading some of these comments about the inner workings of campaigns that these commenters were never part of is laughable.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Whats laughable is I never heard of these campaigns. Did they all get 1%

    ReplyDelete
  77. I hear that Marty Golden, behind Kassar 's back of course, has reached out to Chairman Capano to make peace in hopes of keeping the Reform Party out of his race next year.

    ReplyDelete
  78. There are a lot of people Golden needs to reach out to mend fences because Kassar was using his name left and right to threaten people during election season about things having nothing to do with Golden himself.

    ReplyDelete
  79. We are with you chairman capano

    ReplyDelete
  80. We love you Chairman
