The “Kings County Politics” website reports that Candidate “Q” has denied any knowledge whatsoever about a last minute mailer on his behalf --- possibly illegally paid for by large scale real estate developers obviously expecting something in return
This is the same "crew" that got people like State Senator Martin Golden in hot water with a U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara investigation a couple of years ago
So much for
all the BS about Marty Golden staffer John Quaglione’s having any media savvy
whatsoever….. When cornered about the
financing surrounding a potentially embarrassing piece of lit being delivered
by mail late in his campaign for City Council,
John Quaglione pleaded complete ignorance about the contents of the
mailing itself and/or who it was that foot the bill.
According to the KCP report by Kadia Goba, “A super Political Action Committee (PAC) of realtors backed candidate John Quaglione (R) in Brooklyn’s 43rd council one week before the general election…. The super PAC, Progress Now New York Inc., includes the powerful Real Estate Board of New York PAC (REBNY) and names Quaglione as the favored Independence Party candidate in a mailing sent to voters in the district…. Quaglione, who has worked for State Sen. Marty Golden (R-Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach) for nearly two decades, denied knowing about the flyer as well as its origins….” (See “PAC Money Aids Qugalione In Last Minute Mailer” by Kadia Gobia, 11/3/17, Kings County Politics/ 43rd District City Council Race
[https://www.kingscountypolitics.com/pac-money-aids-qugalione-last-minute-mailer/]).
QUAGLIONE JUST MADE IT WORSE BY SUGGESTING SOME KIND OF ILLEGALITY MIGHT HAVE BEEN INVOLVED
This
quote by GOP-Conservative-Independence Party candidate Quaglione not only made “Q”
look completely out of it as a candidate,
it also poured gasoline on the already red-hot story. “…. ‘I
have no idea and no knowledge of any groups doing any such activities,’ said
Quaglione when asked about the flyers distributed by the super PAC. ‘To do so
would break the law.’…” It should be
noted that Quags might be right about that
--- according to the campaign
finance laws in play, super PACs
like Progress New York are prohibited from
donating directly to candidates or parties, because they can only express their
support by expenditures completely independent of campaign activites.
BRANNAN QUICK TO SEIZE THE ADVANTAGE WITH A STRONG BOOST BY KCP
Also in Gobia’s article for”Kings County Politics,” are the following well-quoted remarks by one
of Mr. Quaglione’s opponents --- Justin Brannan: “…. These mailers truly show
what’s at stake in this election.… Wealthy
special interests and big developers have made it clear they’re supporting a
Trump Republican who has tried to decimate rent control and will support
overdevelopment of our neighborhood.’… ‘This
Super PAC is funded by corporations and individuals who want to see towers and
skyscrapers built in Bay Ridge, destroying our quality of life and completely
changing the landscape of our neighborhoods,” said City Councilmember Vincent
Gentile (D-Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach), who employed
Brannan in his office for a number of years.’…”
To help make the import of Mr. Brannan’s quoted remarks even clearer,
the KCP article added this: “… The bedroom community [Bay Ridge] has long resisted large developers
seeking to build high rises in the area. As early as last year, Community Board
10 which represents residents in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Ft.
Hamilton, fought to reverse a zoning law that allowed residents to expand on
their one- and two-family homes.
NONETHELESS --- IT’S TOUGH TO GAUGE THE IMPACT OF KCP’S REPORT SO LATE IN THE CYCLE
This report by KCP comes very late in the game
for this year’s City Council race(s). It
remains to be seen if there will/ might be any significant effect on Election
Day, with only three days left until the
polls finally open for business this year.
The laws around PACs are that candidates are not to have knowledge. You took a story about a community based group putting money on an issue important to them and turned it into a scandal.
ReplyDeleteNow thats fake news from a fake blogger.
From Capano to McCabe back to Capano. If the goal is to elect Justin keep dreaming.
ReplyDeleteBlob has been quiet since November 3rd. It was national sandwich day. Has he choked like Mama Cass?
ReplyDeleteBob Bob Bob. That is all anyone is talking about.
ReplyDeleteTo all the propaganda artists above enjoy the next 72 hours when bullshit still matters. When the results are tallied Nicole and Q will solidify the end of the republican party in this city. Not exactly a secret but results do matter.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "... HUNTING OF THE SNARK" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 7:30 AM"
YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES I >>> LOVE <<< THIS JOB --- LIKE RIGHT NOW, FOR EXAMPLE
You are trolling me and setting up one straw man after another to attack instead of having a go at what I actually have said and occasionally done. However, there's something that you have failed to consider --- just like the pig that probably likes being wrestled in the mud
--- I might be enjoying this immensely.
Last year, I was trolled by a Hillarybot, who was one nasty piece of work..... It didn't really work out the way she wanted (after all "45" is a Trump and not a Clinton); and when she dragged me and mine through the mud with phony stuff --- she and hers got it back in spades with real, well-researched factual stuff..... So anything happening right now is CAKE as far as I'm concerned.
Let's start by my saying unequivocally --- I didn't say that there WAS ANY SCANDAL here. However, I did say that whatever it is, scandalous or not scandalous, it probably came so late in this year's election cycle (with only three days left) that it probably wouldn't make any difference wrt the vote on Tuesday.
Also, you obviously don't know very much about the real me and/or those who have been near and dear to me. Due to my personal situation, I think I had a very up-close and personal view of what REBNY's political activities were all about, with lots of photographic evidence, and even more anecdotal stuff (and, guess what, most of it is not pro-Republican.....).
But that is all prologue, right now I think I need to hunt you down as the snark-like character that you are.
I think that the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (writing as Lewis Carroll) described what is really going on between us in his extended verse-form "The Hunting of the Snark":
"Just the place for a Snark!" the Bellman cried,
As he landed his crew with care;
Supporting each man on the top of the tide
By a finger entwined in his hair.
"Just the place for a Snark! I have said it twice:
That alone should encourage the crew.
Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice:
What I tell you three times is true."
The crew was complete: it included a Boots—
A maker of Bonnets and Hoods—
A Barrister, brought to arrange their disputes—
And a Broker, to value their goods.
A Billiard-marker, whose skill was immense,
Might perhaps have won more than his share—
But a Banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.
There was also a Beaver, that paced on the deck,
Or would sit making lace in the bow:
And had often (the Bellman said) saved them from wreck,
Though none of the sailors knew how.
There was one who was famed for the number of things
He forgot when he entered the ship:
His umbrella, his watch, all his jewels and rings,
And the clothes he had bought for the trip...."
And so it goes, and goes, and goes.....
Capano gets 15% AT least

"The only thing [you] got from [my] crap above is [I am] a pig who likes rolling in the mud" [sic] --- YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS !!!!!
First, I said that I might be enjoying this immensely, just like a pig that probably likes being wrestled in the mud..... THE VAGARIES EXPRESSED IN THAT COMPLEX SENTENCE ARE VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO UNPACK RATIONALLY AND ARRIVE AT ANY DEFINITIVE CONCLUSION. So, there you go; wrong from the get go.....
What I actually did unpack for you was some key information about the someone here on this blog that some have described as "...the man behind the curtain..." However, who cares about that; certainly not you.....

Capano and all other reform party losers get 2%
ReplyDeleteAnd that 2% may cost John Q
ReplyDeleteJohn Q was always going to lose this race. His most devoted supporters admitted as much within minutes of his victory in the Republican Primary.
ReplyDeleteCapano's antics only give Q an excuse to blame someone other than himself.
And yet, Capano has done the worst damage to what remained of his political career by running as the Reform candidate: his holier-than-thou Primary attacks on Liam and Q for not being lifelong Republicans -- followed by Capano's immediate post-Primary enrollment switch from Republican Party to Reform Party -- have tarred Bob as an absolute and utter hypocrite.
RESPONSE: THE "VERY INTERESTING --- BUT STUPID" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 4:33 AM"
"... NOT SO FAST PROFESSOR, WE'RE GONNA NEED TO SEE YOUR CREDENTIALS"
>>> "Bob [Capano]... absolute and utter hypocrite...." <<< REALLY !!!
Nothing that Bob Capano did or said, including his Primary night visit to Quags' headquarters, ever indicated that BC would remain a Republican if he lost the 2017 GOP Primary.
Even though BC might have talked about the same dirty deal as the one made by Liam McCabe, Bob never sealed the deal.....
BTW, if one goes by Marty Golden's latest first class letter, pulling hard for JQ, Liam McCabe is the 800 pound gorilla in the room (or maybe out in the mist out in Queens).....
AND >>> That letter bleeds desperation from every pore of the silver golden one for his boy JQ. It reminds me of the old Pat Cooper line: "Skinny Ginny, there's something the matter with you-ooh-ooh...." !!!!!
When Q loses it will be a precursor to Marty's defeat next year...this is why they are attacking Capano so much..
ReplyDeleteBrannan will win but not by a huge margin,Quaglion will continue to live in denial and delusion blaming Capano for his defeat. I wouldn't be surprised if Quaglione runs for a third time against Brannan in 2021 and get clobbered
ReplyDeleteGale,
ReplyDeleteThe point of my 4:33 AM comment was Capano's hypocrisy.
He repeatedly attacked Liam and Q for not being lifelong Republicans like him.
And as soon as he lost the Primary, he quit the Republican Party.
Imagine if Capano accused Q and Liam of not being lifelong residents of the district, and immediately moved to Staten Island. Wait ... what?
RESPONSE: THE "DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SIMILARITY AND ... WELL, 'DIFFERENCE' " EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 4:33 AM" & "... AT 2:28 PM"
SINCE WE ARE ON THE HONOR SYSTEM HERE, I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN YOU SAY THAT BOTH OF THESE COMMENTS ARE YOURS --- ALTHOUGH I CAN'T SEE WHY ANYBODY WOULD OWN UP TO SUCH A THING UNLESS INJECTED WITH SODIUM PENTOTHAL AND THEN WATER-BOARDED
Bob Capano took Liam McCabe and John Quaglione to task for leaving a Third Party, the Conservatives of Long and Kassar fame, to join the "Major Party" GOP.....
Given that >>> FACT <<<, it is completely inapt to compare those situations to Bob Capano's leaving the "Major Party" GOP (that just gets funnier and funnier each time I write it) to join Curtis Sliwa and the Third Party "Reform Party" folks.
Also, talk about setting up a straw man, Bob Capano never accused anybody, who was running in the GOP primary of not being lifelong residents of the City Council District, and then moving to Staten Island himself. If you were as familiar with this blog as you should be, you would know full well that Bob moved from Staten Island into the district.
When you were an infant, didn't your mommy explain what "the same," "different" and "opposite" meant; and didn't she give you lots of examples to help you learn which was which among those varied concepts ?????
This stuff is pretty pat --- it does not involve any of the vagaries and nuances of occasionally arcane language and/or the other uses of esoterica that are often the coin of the realm in these parts..... {Yes, I did use "vagaries" in my comments on successive days.)
Well Capano is not going down without a bang..i got 2 r obo calls, a mail piece from him last several days
ReplyDeleteIs that counting the one from Curtis Sliwa that talked about Capano and the Reform Party?
ReplyDeleteCurtis sounded pretty good, he would make a good radio show host.
Exit polls show Brannan running away with the race
ReplyDeleteExcept there is no 9ne doing exit polls. Fake news
ReplyDeleteBrannan wins with 56 percent
ReplyDeleteKassar 0 for 2 with malliotakis and quaglione
ReplyDeleteSilly silly commenter at 7:02. Kassar is 2 for 2. Not hard to figure out why.
ReplyDeleteLets recap how the Brooklyn GOP did last night:
ReplyDeleteQ done...
Golden done...
Kassar done...
Ghorra, well, was always done...
Nicole...history.
It was a clean sweep I would say.
RIP Brooklyn GOP
Golden was the big winner last night. He has always wanted to be the only game in town and he basically got it last night. There is no Brooklyn GOP since Eaton resigned. Ghorra barely puts any effort into disguising that Kassar runs the show no questions asked. He actually tried to act like a Chairman yesterday afternoon and was quickly put in his place by Kassar. Golden's seat is safe for as long as he wants and that's all that matters to the Conservatives.
ReplyDeleteYou mean when Eaton saw Golden and Ghorra were going to beat him and Eaton quit
ReplyDeleteTo 6:56am
ReplyDeleteCheck your facts. Eaton told me and the rest of his inner circle in early 2014 that he wasnt running in 2015 due to the loss of his sister and parents in 2013 and resulting family obligations.
The Brooklyn GOP is done & fractured..Did anyone see Liam McCabe was in Queens with Eric Ulrich on election day & all the weeks before-- he didnt help Q much!
ReplyDeleteIt is too bad Craig Eaton had nowhere to go on election night but his living room.
ReplyDeleteJerry Kassar was on a city main stage
Once again, check your facts.
ReplyDeleteI saw pictures on FB of Eaton having a good time at the Catsimatidis party at the NY Hilton last night with the Rudy G crew, John Cats and his family, Gov Pataki and Ed Cox later in the night after the funeral in Williamsburg.
I heard Kassar took up the whole stage.....
so lets get this straight- the Brooklyn Conservative Party & Brooklyn GOP won nothing yesterday? Capano may ne on to something going to the Reform Party
ReplyDeleteTo 10:07 you are close.
ReplyDeleteCapano is not on to something. Capano is on something.
All that fat fuck accomplished was taking the thunder out of what was almost a victory for John Quaglione. Bob cant win so he wants to make others lose.
Maybe Bob and that stupid reform party can get his usual 300 votes for state senate next year and cause another republican to lose.

ReplyDeleteI VOTED; AND THEN I GOT ON A PLANE TO MY BEAUTIFUL BEACHFRONT VILLA [OK, IT'S A BLOCK FROM THE BEACH] --- SO, I'M SORT OF SEEING IT ALL IN A MUCH SIMPLER CONTEXT --- AS BILL MURRAY SAID [OH SO WELL] IN "MEATBALLS," THE MOVIE, "... IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER !!!"
Tomorrow morning, mimosas in a patio breakfast lounge called "The Beach Bucket" (right above where world speed records were set in another century) and my Kathy will be right there with me.
BTW, THE ELECTION SEEMED TO HAVE AN UPSIDE FOR EVERYBODY --- AND LIAM CAN EVEN CLAIM THAT HE WOULD HAVE WON [LET"S START A POOL ON HOW LONG THAT TAKES.....]
Jerry Obriens Brooklyn losing streak continues...McCabe, Saperstein......
ReplyDeleteThats Gerry with a G
ReplyDeleteKassar was right about capano. Anyone with common sense could see it.
ReplyDeleteLiam would have won.
ReplyDeletethis city would look a lot different in 4 years if Q had won
ReplyDeleteMcCabe is telling all "I told you so"..Quaglione could not win..GOP and Conservatives should have united behind Liam early and pushed Q out..he is right
ReplyDeleteSmoke and mirrors to detract from ominous fact that wherever Brooklyn Conservatives are involved, embarrassing defeats are virtually guaranteed.
ReplyDeleteQ was supposed to lose
ReplyDeleteDuh! They are all supposed to lose.
ReplyDeleteGolden and Kassar say what they need to say to convince candidates to run on their lines, and then drop them like hot potato's because they dont want any other electeds in Brooklyn.
Look at the paltry numbers of ALL the brooklyn candidates except for Q. It is embarraring to all republicans in Brooklyn. It is almost better to leave the line bland than to run someone and get less than 10%
This is very telling. Ghorra, Golden and Kassar have pissed off so many people by drawing them in to run and then not giving them any help at all. Zilch - Zero help.
I hear Ghorra's days are numbered. He keeps telling everyone he is not a puppet - that he is his own man. In fact he told me this more than a dozen times. BUT, when the puppeteer finds out, he is getting in trouble....
Shame on the puppet.
Looking good for Grimm

And there was an aerial spectacular right there over the surf while we watched from our table at ring-side. as five ospreys dove for fish. I never saw a seahawk in action before that I can recall.

I DO HAVE NEIGHBORS HERE ON THE BEACH SIDE, WHO ARE OF A CERTAIN AGE AND ON FIXED INCOMES, AND WHO DO SIT IN THEIR BREEZE-COOLED GARAGES ALL DAY LONG, SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO TURN ON THE AC IN THE HOUSE --- THEN THEY RUN THE AC AT NIGHT TO PULL THE MOISTURE OUT OF THE HOUSE, BECAUSE FPL CHARGES A LOWER RATE AFTER MIDNIGHT IN THE EARLY AM --- BTW, I HAVEN'T HAD A SINGLE "EARLY BIRD" SPECIAL ON THIS TRIP [AH ! BEING A BACHELOR AGAIN.....]
On Election Day Ted Ghorra briefly tried to act like a Chairman and was quickly put in his place by Jerry Kassar. If anything good comes out of this huge embarrassment for the Brooklyn GOP it should be that no one except Sen. Golden should believe a word about promises of support to run for any position.
ReplyDeleteQuaglione (and by Quaglione I mean Hank Sheinkof) was smart to tie Brannan to DiBlasio. It was a successful strategy but not enough to mask Quaglione's severe limitations as a candidate. As evidenced by Nicole's crushing defeat citywide, running entirely on a "the other guy sucks" platform isn't enough to drag a candidate across the finish line in this Democratic day and age. Brannan outperformed DiBlasio by about 20 points in the 43rd CD. If DiBlasio was anyone other than DiBlasio, Brannan would have won in a landslide. That's all the tea leaves I need to read.
ReplyDeleteLiam would have won..now no Republican will ever win again..this was the year
ReplyDeleteIf Brannan did not have immensely popular Vincent Gentile's active support, the concon that brought out unions in droves and torrential downpours that basically shut down voting after 4pm, he would be back to a patronage job with the Mayor tweeting against his adversaries errh ahem I mean back working for the Mayor.
ReplyDeleteto 2:20 so now Q goes back to patronage job he never left with marty. whats the difference?
ReplyDeleteMarty is looking more solid than ever for a landslide next year.
ReplyDeleteMarty has put in 15 years and may retire which clears the way for Q
ReplyDeleteGale got it right.
ReplyDeleteVote and then head to the beach.
2017 was a very strange year. Trump motivated opposition turn out nationally but in NY diblasio was a drag on Democrats. This was the last chance for a republican to take this council seat.
ReplyDeleteNext year will be a good year for dems which is bad news for marty.
ReplyDeleteMcCabe 2021'
ReplyDeleteLet's admit we all underestimated Brannan and his popularity across the district, especially with the minorities, transplant hipsters, and soccer mom's. The mayor's catering numbers should have brought down Brannan but he survived thanks to his own fame in northern Bay Ridge. The old white church lady vote is dead and gone. If this race proved anything at all, it was that.
ReplyDeleteIts not old white church ladies that voted for Quaglione. Its people who dont want to be represented by the fattest member of the city council. I mean lets get real. Justin qualifies for handicap parking hes so fat.
ReplyDeleteLet's admit Ghorra was right when he said Q could not win..only McCabe, the new candidate, could win
ReplyDeleteThe GOP voters had a chance to elect McCabe and they blew it. Golden picked Quaglione. Sarsour will be picking the next councilman.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Bobs 15%
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Johns win
ReplyDeleteBob was off by 14%
ReplyDeleteJohn and Kassar in the wilderness
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "IN THE WILDERNESS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO MANY, IF NOT ALL, OF THE COMMENTERS ABOVE
RIGHT NOW, I AM IN DEEP RED-STATE AMERICA [AND EXCEPT FOR THEIR INABILITY TO GET BAGELS OR PIZZA RIGHT] AND AS JIM BACKUS SAID ALMOST 60 YEARS AGO --- "IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO FLY"
Let's be fair, Justin Brannan probably under-performed, AND JOHN QUAGLIONE AND HIS CAMPAIGN AS A WHOLE HIT THEIR MARKS VERY WELL --- ALMOST SUCCEEDING IN WINNING THE BIG ENCHILADA; IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN WHETHER BOB CAPANO'S BIG PLAY IN THE GENERAL WILL WORK OUT FOR HIM AND HIS GOP ALLIES IN THE END --- OR EVEN THE NEAR FUTURE.....
The Brooklyn GOP isn't dead, but it is in a deep, deep coma and it's vitals are so weak as to be almost un-measurable --- and more and more of those near and dear to the Brooklyn GOP are expressing the thought openly that it's time to stop all life sustaining activities and pull the plug.
Here's the deal with Nicole and Quaglione losing, Kassar and company are out if jobs if Golden loses next year..
ReplyDeleteGolden not going to lose that's why they don't care about other Republicans winning. Kassar ran Nicole's campaign right into the ground and messed up John's for good measure.
ReplyDeleteNicole and Dandy Dan both have something in common.
ReplyDeleteTo 10:38. Dan was smart enough to pick up on it and make adjustments.
ReplyDeleteI think 10:38 meant they both live in staten island. Are you suggesting Dan moved?
ReplyDeleteGrimm is starting to look like the straight shooter
ReplyDeleteGalewyn knows it was a fluke of an election. Brannon had to outperform the mayor by double digits to win and he did but make no mistake this was the year for us to win the council seat. I fear it will never again be in Republican hands. DiBlasio was an anchor around Brannon's neck. Had Quaglione worked a little bit harder he may been able to win the whole shebang.
ReplyDeleteHad Kassar not decided to take over Q operation in the last week, he would have won. Brooklyn GOP will win nothing besides Golden gerrymandered district so long as conservatives calling the shots.
ReplyDeleteMarty will never be defeated.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "FACTS OF LIFE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 7:03 PM "8:28 PM"
Your observation that --- "Marty will never be defeated...." --- is not relevant. I've said it many times on this blog SSMG only needs to be challenged
Kassar took over q campaign and made the let decision to pull resources from the 47th AD portion on the council district..bad move that cost Quaglione the election
ReplyDeleteReally? Kassar pulled resources in the 47th in the last week? Why would he do that?
ReplyDeleteMaybe, JQ was already underperforming in the 47th AD because of ykw on the Reform Party line's campaign boss working hard in his old stomping grounds.
The evidence of the impact of ykw's Reform Party campaigning on the general election result in the 43rd Council race might be at its clearest in the 47th AD's EDs.
absentee balloots not councted yet so who knows difference ebtween reform party line vote & margin of victory but will be close..no way of telling how much reform party candidate running to right of Q caused how many voters not to pull lever for Q
ReplyDeleteTeam Quaglione blaming Capano for his loss doesn't add up because Quaglione lost by much more than what Capano siphoned away from his vote. Quaglione was a bad "one more try" candidate up against a beloved jolly community icon like Brennan. GOP has no bench. We need to focus on building up our bench no matter what Marty says or wants because once Marty is gone this party is over and that's just how he wants it
ReplyDeleteKassar pulled resources from every neighborhood but Dyker Heights weekend before election. Curious move to say the least. As for Bob I wonder what he really thinks once the hallucinations and delusions of grandeur wear off eventually.
ReplyDeleteMost elections are binary splits. The Brannan, Quaglione, Capano split in the general election was not exceptional, it was typical.
ReplyDeleteBob had legitimate serious grievances over what Golden and Kassar did to him after the Primary, he let his understandable frustration get the best of him though with his third party run.
ReplyDeleteBob seems fixated on holding office, regardless of the cost. Not the kind of person you should trust with any real power.
ReplyDeleteI wouldnt worry about bob and his 1% getting any real power
ReplyDeleteI don't think Bob gives a shit either way..he still works for a billionaire with various responsibilities and is no better or worse off today than before the campaign. Meanwhile, Golden, Kassar, Quaglione, and Ghorras GOP are worse off..
ReplyDeleteBreak ended.
ReplyDeleteBack to bagging groceries.
I spoke to Bob his jobs with John Cats is much more than overseeing his supermarkets
ReplyDeleteI heard when the paper ballots are counted Bob will have over 3%
ReplyDeleteIs he shooting for the stars ?
Is this another one of those wild rumors?
So much more than bagging groceries!
ReplyDeleteBob, cleanup on aisle three!
Capano helped ensure the Conservative patronage mill ends when Golden goes next year by Q not winning...hence, all this animosity.
ReplyDeleteCapano helped ensure that matching funds are a waste
ReplyDeleteSO DID jOHN q!
ReplyDeleteThe results show the reform party was outpolled on election day by conservative party 3 to 1. Bob proved the conservative party is more of a powerhouse than ever.
ReplyDeleteThe Conservative party is more of a joke than ever. No reason for them to exist besides patronage mill. They wrecked Q candidacy and brag about their vote totals as if those people would have voted for Brannan instead.
ReplyDeleteIf Kassar and the Conservative Party are bragging and claiming victory because they out polled Bob on the Reform Party, which by the way this was the first election the Reform Party was on the ballot, it is very sad..
ReplyDeleteI am more curious what will happen if and when Marty Golden goes to interview with Bob and the Brooklyn Reform Party next year..
1:32 needs to wake up and smell the garbage. States conservative party has no reason to exist besides being a "patronage mill". What do you think the definition of a successful political party is?
ReplyDeleteTo 4:41. A successful political party wins elections. A successful political party isn't successful because it throws elections to Democrats for a couple of no show jobs. Conservatives unhappy with Donovan because he got wide to the con job and ready to clean house.
ReplyDeleteDan needs to clean his closet.
ReplyDeletehey gale can you stop the chaos and set some rules you ruleless libertarian.

ONE WAY I LOOK AT THIS IS THAT GOD'S CREATION CAN ONLY HAVE WITHIN IT ORDER >>> OR <<< CHAOS, BUT NOT BOTH ORDER >>> AND <<< CHAOS
Or trying to limit commentary on string theory to people named Hicks, but not Higgs.....
Another way is like trying to limit the interplay of an O'Neill and a Robeson: playwright and player; idealist and realist; altogether nuanced, sophisticated, insightful and brutal in completely different ways.....
NOW, EXACTLY WHO IS IT THAT YOU SAY I SHOULD LIMIT TO TWO COMMENTS ?????
Sounds like gales operating from a location that is located closer to alabama than brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteConservatives will play both sides with Donovan and Grimm..the plan is for McCabe to help Grimm as Brooklyn campaign manager, Fran and Kassar to help Donovan and whoever wins they get jobs
ReplyDeleteHas Grimm been banned from the mall?
ReplyDeleteI love the way Eaton and Capano think their relationship to Johnny Cats gives them relevance. Eaton is proud he gets tossed a bone and is invited to a Cats election night party and Capano is happy to work for him..meanwhile, their Bay Ridge neighbors know they are a joke and have to influence in the community.
ReplyDeleteEaton was just looking for a free meal. Is Cats good for anything else?
ReplyDeleteTed Ghorra and Marty Golden are who Ed Cox and the state rep leaders go to..Eaton gets an invite to a Cats free meal and feels important..well at least he has something
ReplyDeleteUnder Craig Eaton we had a real Brooklyn Republican Party not a thinly veiled front for Jerry Kassar and the Brooklyn Conservatives. We also had at one point five elected officials whose districts were comprised entirely in Brooklyn or parts of Brooklyn. What we have now is a lot less, including Dan Donovan fighting for his political life. Ted can't make a move unless Jerry sanctions it first. Funny thing is a lot of the DL who backed Ted never signed up for handing over the party to the Brooklyn Conservatives.
ReplyDeleteKassar is the boss. Its been that way for over 20 years.
ReplyDelete12:12 is stating the obvious.
ReplyDeleteAll the district leaders are with Kassar and Ghorra...craig Eaton who???
ReplyDeleteGhorra can't hold a candle to Eaton..even with him not being chair his opinions are still sought by many
ReplyDeleteKassar is indeed the "boss". He is still a disaster.
ReplyDelete12:33pm - you have proven the point - Game, set, match!
ReplyDeleteAll DL are with Kassar and Ghorra!
Clearly this a Golden supporter and he/she even admits that Kassar is the Boss by putting his name first.
Doesnt say Ghorra and Kassar, does it?
Let us remember the GOP is the major party and the Cons party is the party of cheats, crooks and patronage hacks. The GOP Chair should be first even if he is a dope and puppet.
Just sayin, you proved what many have been saying for months...
I don't know much about Ted to speak about his character but clearly he is Jerry's puppet to the point I'm wondering if he's basically admitting it.
ReplyDeletePower is power and Kassar and golden have it and Eaton does not.
ReplyDeleteGame set match
Is Grimm backing Roy Moore?
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of Craig Eaton but would agree the Kings County Republican Party was in a position of great and lasting strength under Eaton's watchful eye. Today's party is a hollow shell of what it once was. The fact that we are here discussing John Quaglione, Bob Capano and Liam McCabe as the Future of the Party is all you need for evidence that the Grand Old Party is on life support and not accepting visitors.
ReplyDeleteThe GOP has lost every city and state wide election in New York for over 15 years. And it got worse this year. Both Long Island and Westchester county elections all lost by entrenched GOP incumbents. It must be Ted Ghorras fault.

I doubt that Jerry Kassar "... operates a vast patronage mill...." On occasion, Kassar does dole out some patronage..... But over the years, I've spoken to a fair share of disgruntled Conservative Party operators. >>> Almost all OF them complained about JK and their own inability to advance or further grind along in the patronage mill.
Now, if you mentioned Mike Long instead of JK,then you'd be closer to the mark.
Mike Long is bigger than US Steel
ReplyDeleteThat's why some people refer to him as the "Man of Steel"...
ReplyDeleteNO, NOT "SUPERMAN"!
"STALIN"
Craig Eaton is Louis Lane
ReplyDeleteCraig Eaton got the last laugh. Ted has to take orders from Jerry!
ReplyDeleteEaton most certainly got the last laugh because this mess was all by design
ReplyDeleteEaton lit the fuse for the Kings County GOP Civil War and escaped out the back door!
Now Marty has to deal with the likes of Ted Ghorra and Timmy Chocrane
The 3 Stooges
Marty, Ghorra, and Cochrane are united...eaton and Capano get free meals from Cats and feel important.
ReplyDeleteIf capano is getting free meals from cats is a bankruptcy in the supermarket business coming?
ReplyDeleteEaton is hanging out with billionaires while Ghorra takes marching orders from Kassar...priceless.
ReplyDeleteI Seen John Q The Other Day But He Is Not Handling The Loss Well. I Strongly Believe Der Kommissar Kassar Oversold Johnny A Bill Of Goods On Nicole's Tailwinds Because There Was Not Much Tailwind To Speak Of And Clearly Not Enough To Get John Q Over The Hump When It Mattered Most. Der Kommissar Continues To Brag About Nicole's Numbers In Her Own Assembly District And I Find That To Be Particularly Pathetic
ReplyDeleteKassar selling Nicoles tail?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great business model.
9:40 clearly has no clue. Brooklyn part of 64th AD 4:1 Democrat. Democrats used to win Brooklyn side of district with 3,000+ vote margins. Now Nicole not only wins it easily but trounced the Democrat Mayor, not bad for an Assemblywoman from Staten Island.
ReplyDeletePlease, correct me if I'm wrong; but isn't "mayor" a city-wide office, and wasn't the mayoral election a city-wide race? And in addition, wasn't Nicole Mallibaby running against a very, very unpopular incumbent, who had the media honking on him all the time for big-time real current scandals?
ReplyDeletede Blasio may have been unpopular in parts of SI Brooklyn and Queens but he had approval ratings hovering near 60% city wide. His pollsters were smart enough to discover the Trump factor very early on and made it their only issue. Press only paid lip service to scandals and reporters even made Trump an issue during debates asking multiple questions. Lhota ran with almost three times as much money as Nicole and 100 times more name recognition. In 2013 no one had to run against the "Trump" factor and billions in "freebies" that the Mayor promised the people of New York. Nicole wound up besting Lhota by almost six points, she got trounced by de Blasio numerically but at least put up a far more admirable fight.
ReplyDeleteTo 9:40 and 6:28. Jerry Kassar is loyal only to his boss. He sold Nicole and John down the river only thing I hear he's bragging about is the "good" turnout from conservative party members, which would not be so ridiculous a claim except for the fact that he was in charge of running Nicole's campaign city wide and (in the last couple of weeks) the Q campaign district wide. So he ran Nicole's citywide campaign into the ground and then wrecked John's campaign for City Council but now he's bragging about conservative party turnout? Why anyone would let him run anything besides the patronage mill at KCP headquarters makes no sense.
ReplyDeleteAgain. If Kassar is running the patronage mill than hes the boss.
ReplyDeleteYep Kassar the boss of Brooklyn GOP that's why so many former Eaton antagonists are wishing he was back in charge.
ReplyDeleteEaton was useless
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "FRACTURED SYNTAX AND SPELLINGS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO EVERYBODY ON ALL SIDES OF THIS "DEBATE"*
CAN WE AT LEAST PRETEND THAT THERE IS AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE THAT FOLLOWS RULES OF GRAMMAR, THAT OUR PHRASEOLOGY AND SENTENCE STRUCTURES HAVE SOME CONNECTION TO RECOGNIZABLE SYNTAX, AND THAT WHAT WE ARE WRITING IS EXPRESSIVE OF SOME KIND OF THOUGHT PROCESS

* What I generously referred to as a "DEBATE" above is a lot closer to a >>> group mass debate in a circle ( aka a "circle j++k" to the uninitiated).
Kassar calls the shots in Brooklyn while Eaton drives Cats around town so he gets a free meal
ReplyDeleteCraig is chilling with Cats at 21 Club while Teddy sits by the phone to wait for Jerry's call while Jerry makes sure his boss's drink is still cold.
ReplyDeleteAll that Hail Mary money from REBNY couldn't even help John Q squeeze out a win. He could barely pinch a loaf
ReplyDeleteNicole did pretty bad but its the best a Republican will ever do.
ReplyDeleteCraig drives Cats to the 21 club and waits outside..
ReplyDeleteYou guys are obsessed with Eaton and Cats. What is this all about?
ReplyDeleteEaton is very close friends with a billionaire. Are you all jealous?
Get over it.
When Brooklyn Republicans united last year to support Ted over Arnaldo and Lucretia it was to bring an end to all of the infighting not hand over the party to the conservatives. A lot of people disliked Craig Eaton but he presided over the golden age compared to this embarrassment right now.
ReplyDeleteArnaldo.
ReplyDeleteIL Vincitore !!!
Arnaldo, handed the county leadership on a silver platter ... and too cheap to hire a lawyer to keep it.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you people are talking more about Craig than Ghorra shows he is more relevant....John Cats is a major player in NYC politics and he listens to Craig on all matters related to Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you people only get your political information from this blog, but you don't seem to have gotten the word about this:
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans had a leadership primary this year, and then they had a convention and one side pitched a shutout against all their opponents. In other words:
Eaton & Company LOST
Arnaldo & Company LOST
Lucretia & Company LOST
Capano & Company LOST
GOLDEN & COMPANY WON BIG
GHORRA & COMPANY WON BIG
JOHN Q & COMPANY WON BIG
Ted Ghorra still takes marching orders from his Boss Jerry Kassar who takes his orders from his Boss Marty Golden and Golden prepares for a major opponent next year. Craig Eaton got the last laugh years ago.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteYeah Quaglione won was a seat at his desk in Senator Golden's office.
working with senator golden sounds more significant than bagging groceries
ReplyDelete"Hi Craig, this is John Cats, when you pick me up, please pick up my laundry"
ReplyDeleteCraig thanks for the offer. Bob already picked up my laundry.
ReplyDeleteJohn Cats: "Capano, bag the damn groceries and Craig will carry them out to my car & pick up the laundry."
ReplyDeleteCraig Eaton was John's guest at his table at the Al Smith dinner, conjure up whatever little fantasies you need to cope with that reality.
ReplyDeleteBrannan put Eaton on his transition team. This will only perpetuate Quaglione's ludicrous conspiracy theories. It's a beautiful day to be alive in America.
ReplyDeleteyes- supposedly Capano & Eaton cost Q the election
ReplyDeleteEaton had nothing to do with Q's loss. Lets get serious now. Q lost the race all by himself.
ReplyDeleteJerry Kassar's meddling lost the race for Q. Do some digging GM you might be surprised at what you uncover.
ReplyDeleteWhile I believe reaching across the aisle is a smart move for our new councilmember elect, Chairman Eaton’s involvement will only keep Quaglione’s delusional conspiracy theories alive
ReplyDelete
ReplyDelete2:27 PM What did Kassar do or not do?
To 6:38. Let's have GM contact some of his sources and see what he finds out...
