Does it show ANY common sense at all for Jerry Kassar to go off on Bob Capano at this stage of the 2017 race for City Council--- like Kassar did in his most recent “Common Sense” column

Wearing his other hat,  Kings County Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar says that  ---  “…  Bob [Capano], who spent tens of thousands of dollars to come in a distant third with only 579 votes [in the Republican Primary], will have no effect on the November results…”

For your reading pleasure and to amuse yourself using both hands,   I have included the segment of JK’s latest opinion piece in and for the  >>> Brooklyn Reporter <<< it specifically talked about Bob Capano'

Well, here goes:   “….   Bob Capano was a Republican, and as a Republican candidate for City Council he made the claim that he was the only candidate who had always been a Republican. He also indicated that he would support the winner of the Republican Party primary. He even showed up at John Quaglione’s victory party where he spoke, pledging his support for John….   That was then….   Bob, who spent tens of thousands of dollars to come in a distant third with only 579 votes, will have no effect on the November results. But that is not the point I wish to make….   Bob has since enrolled in the Reform Party. So much for his impeccable Republican credentials. As far as him supporting the winner of  the Republican primary, and his appearance and statements at the Bay Ridge Manor in support of John primary night, well, those went out the window too….   The failure of candidates for public office to keep their word is what I find troubling. I have known Bob for a long time. During that time, all he ever wanted to do was run for office. This was his third chance, having been supported by the Brooklyn Republican and Conservative Parties twice and losing in landslides both times….   Then he moved to Staten Island and remained there for five years, emerging at an address in Brooklyn a few months ago. Once again, the voters saw through him and the results are what I have indicated….   Bob has every right to run as a Reform Party candidate. He does not have the right to change his story around to suit his ambitions whenever he feels like it….   This is one of the things I dislike most about a business I have worked within my entire life —  candidates that are all about themselves, candidates that care little for the community and even less for those who might have bested them and are going forward carrying the banner that they wished to carry….   Sore loser is the common term. But I think it is quite a bit worse. It really goes to the core of what the person is about.   (See  “Common Sense: Trump says ‘no deal’ ”  by Jerry Kassar,  10/20/17,   Brooklyn Daily/ Opinion   [http://brooklynreporter.com/story/common-sense-trump-says-no-deal/]).
As one of my favorite frenemies was wont to post on his blog at the time  --- “THE QUESTION BEGS…”  ---  in this instance,  what motivated Jerry Kassar to highlight Bob Capano’s run on the Reform Party line ???  ---  what does Kassar expect that this part of his column to accomplish ???  [I know, that’s two separate questions begging].

BTW, an interesting all alone drinking game for those of you out there who think that tippling all alone is perfectly OK  ---  pour a jigger-full of Irish Whiskey down your gullet every time you find a grammatical error in Jerry Kassar’s  “Common Sense” column.

  1. Kassar needs to go by-by....

He is using his column for personal vendettas.....

  2. Kassar is right about some things. What JK fails to mention is the reform party might overtake the conservative party. None of this is bad. But it's a fight for 2nd place since the GOP is non existent.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Jerry K is right about everything. One of the things he's always right about is saying the wrong thing. The column quoted by GM is no exception.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Wow..with 3 or 4 more debates and the pressing loving the outsider Capano, I am not so sure Kassar made a wise move attacking Capano...

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm shocked they still let him call his column "Common Sense"

MAYBE SOMETHING IS BREWING --- AND IT'S EVEN READY TO BOIL OVER

  7. The Conservatives are running full page ads in print and lots of digital stuff in a bunch of papers for Quaglione. Big bucks. They have money and they spend. Maybe they are afraid of the Reform Party. Or maybe they just intend to help Q win.

For what it’s worth, Kassar was on target concerning Capano. And this blog that had him winning primary was way off.

Capano entire campaign seems to be some boosted Facebook posts and a few appearances on his way home to Staten Island from Gristedes.

Not much good going to happen for him with this type of spending.

  8. I was just at Arab American association debate and checking twitter..capano getting praise for sticking to positions while Quaglione waffled..capano gains Republican, con votes when press stories out

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh yeah right. Arab Americans are thrilled with Trump wanna be Capano.

If Bob gets a few old italians hes lucky. Of course thats at quagliones expense.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I read JK column. it was just the facts.

Did Bob go and speak to quaglione victory party and pledge support? Yes

Did bob claim to be the true republican and switch the day after he lost? Yes

Does bob really live in staten island? Yes.

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 5:53 PM" AND THE REST OF THE "FAKE NEWS" COMMENTERS ABOVE

THIS BLOG NEVER SAID THAT BOB CAPANO WAS GOING TO WIN THE GOP PRIMARY; WHAT WAS SAID WAS THAT THE THREE >>> MEN <<< IN THE RACE HAD RUN BETTER CAMPAIGNS THAN WE AT "BROOKLYN... GOP FOUNTAINHEAD" WOULD HAVE EXPECTED; AND IF WE HAD TO PICK A WINNER, WE THOUGHT IT WOULD MOST LIKELY BE LIAM MC CABE

The news that I'm getting from tonight's debate is that if it advantaged anybody, it sure was NOT John Quaglione.....

  12. And look how Liam abandoned you.

  15. Capano was praised by the crazy Arab progressives last night because even though they disagreed with every goddamn word he said, at least the little fella took a position! Quaglione was like a candle in the wind never knowing who to cling to when the rain set in. These people just wanted to see if the candidates had a skeletal system and Quaglione failed miserably. I would have liked to have known you but I was just a kid. Your candle burned out long before, your legend ever did.

  20. Kassar is already looking to blame someone else for the anticipated quaglione loss.

Makes sense. It makes common sense.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh! You're a riot, Alice....

    ReplyDelete
  22. If you talk to the people round Quaglione the only thing they anticipate is winning. Brannan made a lot of enemies in the primary. Quaglione it would seem made some friends.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Kassar seems to hardly care. He has the barrel of ink, and even laid up seems to be all over a bunch of elections. Capano is an easy target for him since it appears the whole Quaglione world agrees with him. Tonight Quaglione cleaned up at NY 1 debate

    ReplyDelete
  24. Will you ninkompoops wise up !!!

Kassars point is that Quaglione is now going to lose. Nice pep talk Jerry. Did any of you think that Jerrys point of knocking Bob was going to make him cry and drop out?

Looks like Justin will talk any Dem wanting to take on Marty into running for congress instead.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The Arab debate was very bad for John. All the newspaper coverage portrays John as waffling on his support of cops, Trump, and other traditional Republican issues and Capano standing firm in front of an adversarial crowd.
Capano is going to gain significant votes from Q because of this..i was there and Marty Golden walked out when he realized what was happening

    ReplyDelete
  26. I was also in attendance. Of course Golden was red faced. He always is.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lots of bad blood from both dem and GOP primaries. thats Bobs vote

    ReplyDelete
  28. 1146 am..great point

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wow..i just looked at the local papers..capano continues to dominate

    ReplyDelete
  30. Just now saw the newspapers with Capano's scorching full page response letter to Kassar. Ouch!
Kassar is gonna sit upright in his Craftmatic adjustable bed after that heat-seeker! Quaglione was awful just awful on Spectrum last night, sounds like a robot with cheap batteries. How can he say he supports POTUS when he doesn't support anything POTUS stands for? That would be my question if I were Capano!

    ReplyDelete
  31. After the NY1 debate and all the newspaper coverage showing Capano standing by Trump, Quaglione is going to lose a hell of a lot Republican, Conservative votes to Capano...capano has a great chance now of getting more votes on the Reform line than Q gets on th conservative line

    ReplyDelete
  32. If Q is losing republicans than who is voting for him? Arabs ? Dems?

    ReplyDelete
  33. 211..great question

    ReplyDelete
  34. The voters who have kept Golden in office for decades are voting for Quaglione.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ummm..the council district does not include Gerritsen Beach and Manhattan Beach..Golden lost the Senate district that includes the 43rd Council District

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ummmmmmmmm...sounds like bob

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ummmmm...sounds like Jerry

    ReplyDelete
  38. The Conservatives seem to be putting big bucks behind Quaglione. Ads, digital stuff and now mail, robi calls, Church distributions. They are trying to close the deal for him. Capano is no where and Brannan being on line with de Blasio is looking like he is going down.

Republicans doing little. Kassar between the obvious deal he did to protect two lines for Quaglione and all this stuff looks like he is about to win again.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What's this about Q saying he wouldn't vote for his own wife if she ran for City Council?

    ReplyDelete
  40. i watched the ny 1 debate and i know the camera adds ten pounds but thats a drop in the bucket . are we sure justin can make it up a flight of stairs

  42. Brannan Internal pol shows
    Brannan 47%
    Quaglione- 34%
    Capano- 19%

    ReplyDelete

    capano gets 2%

    ReplyDelete
  44. 2% !!!

You mean bobs base has doubled?

    ReplyDelete
  45. The feds have talked to Capano, Sliwa a and Julianne Cuba about the Conservative deal and reviewed all the published reports..if I were Kassar I would be very nervous..as mike long pointed out it was Kassar who had to sign the paperwork

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeah right Blob. The feds are going to lock up everyone till the fat man sings

    ReplyDelete
  47. I hear the indictments will be next week..not good for Quaglione

    ReplyDelete
  48. I hear blob getting nervous about that 2%

    ReplyDelete
  49. Q sounded horrible on Inside City Hall. Acting like he never heard of Trump loses everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Justin lost his base when he went with Hillary. A coalition has formed to reform politics.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The Chief has endorsed the Reform party candidate for Mayor. The Reform party is obviously getting in the way of that fat kassars plans to pick at the bones of the GOP.

    ReplyDelete
  52. You know this blog is full of crap when you see posting that Quaglione lost the NY1 debate. He was the clear winner. This blog should be renamed The Brooklyn GOP Home Of Hateful Losers

AND FOR "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 9:38 PM" ---

You said, "This blog should be renamed The Brooklyn GOP Home Of Hateful Losers"..... Why are you ignoring all the hateful Democrats, winners and losers, who have been among the best contributors to this blog, as commenters, as confidential sources and as BSI's ???

    ReplyDelete
  55. on the NY 1 debate Brannon asked John Q a question about his support for Trump and he responded by blaming his wife or something. it was bad.

    ReplyDelete
  56. 8:35 must have been watching another debate. Quaglione as in the past simply said he voted for the Oresident but when he has differences he will say so. Why make up stuff especially about his wife? Just another blog hater looking to help the Democrats. In fact this blog is looking more and more like the Brooklyn Democratic Fountainhead.

WHAT PART OF "BROOKLYN INDEPENDENT GOP FOUNTAINHEAD" DO YOU NOT GET ?????

JOHN QUAGLIONE IS NOT AN >>> INDEPENDENT <<< MEMBER OF THE GOP --- JOHN QUAGLIONE IS NOT >>> OUR GUY <<< AS LONG AS HE IS NOT INDEPENDENT OF MARTY GOLDEN AND THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY --- AS FAR AS WE'RE CONCERNED JOHN QUAGLIONE >>> NEEDS TO LOSE <<< AS BADLY AS POSSIBLE IN 2017, SO THAT SOMEBODY INSIDE THE GOP SEES THAT MARTY GOLDEN NEEDS TO BE CHALLENGED IN A REPUBLICAN PRIMARY IN 2018

    Enough said ???

    ReplyDelete
  59. Finally you were honest by admitting this supposed Republican blog wants Quaglione to lose. You are the loser and should go away

    ReplyDelete
  60. Whether anybody wants q to lose or not its going to happen. liam was the only chance the GOP had

    ReplyDelete
  61. I guess thats why Liam lost and is now running around in an empty park. Obviously 11:35 has no interest in how the GOP voters overwhelmingly spoke.

    ReplyDelete
  62. obviously 12;09 is more interested in winning a primary than losing an elelection.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I would agree as of late this blog has turned into the Democratic Melissa Viverito Fountainpen. Capano, Quaglione and MCCabe fought harder to win the GOP primary than Quaglione is fighting now to win the actual prize. The proxy wars have to stop. It is tearing our party apart. I hope there is a big meeting after Quaglione loses to right this sinking ship because otherwise I fear the endtimes are near

AT LEAST YOU USED A TOUCH OF HUMOR AS AN ICEBREAKER.....

I will admit that this was a lol line: "I would agree as of late this blog has turned into the Democratic Melissa Viverito Fountainpen...." Of course, as a factual proposition it's just plain wrong; btw, who are you agreeing with; and what are you agreeing to (ie., where from does it come) ?????

I AGREE WITH YOU THAT: ".... Capano, Quaglione and McCabe fought harder to win the GOP primary than Quaglione is fighting now to win the actual prize...."

Anybody that really thinks this needs to go back to school on the short bus and wearing a protective helmet >>> "The proxy wars have to stop. It is [sic] tearing our party apart...."

And as for this: ".... I hope there is a big meeting after Quaglione loses to right this sinking ship because otherwise I fear the endtimes are near..." EH !!! TALK ABOUT A WASTE OF TIME..... [BTW, I'll have to pour over my Canonical and Apocryphal Apocalyptic texts and see if Quaglione's badly lossing to Justin Brannan and Bob Capano is a sign of the end times.

In any case, see some uh y'all at the Rapture if 1:35 PM happens to be right about the "endtimes" [sic].....

    ReplyDelete
  68. The Times did not say quag would win. It said capano is the true conservative.

    ReplyDelete
  69. 6:52 is a Guag-hag hawking fake news just like Golden's robo-calling about fake and hollow Quaglione promises. Things must be real bad in the land of the Golden Quag.

    ReplyDelete
  70. The Senators robo calls are very effective. The Golden operation knows exactly how to pull a vote.

    ReplyDelete
  71. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Is that your final answer?

    ReplyDelete
  72. I believe 10;46 was stating the obvious. When the votes are counted Golden & Quaglione are the choice. Ha ha's dont count.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I was driving yesterday and heard Capano on 770 WABC radio talking about his candidacy for 10 minutes, blasting De Blasio, the MTA etc...plus every single local paper out this week covered the Arab American assoc debate and every single article portrayed Quaglione as waffling on the NYPD support and Trump while Capano stood firm..going to lose Q..

  76. The jokes will cease on election night when john Q public elects its own john Q till the city council.

    ReplyDelete
  77. On election night Q will finally understand the bad karma coming from Golden.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Think about this, for the primary Marty Golden did the real heavy lifting for John Quaglione and delivered less than half of the Republicans for Mister Q-tip. Factor that into your general election estimates, and I'm thinking that John Q. Private will be heading for a number somewhere south of 40% in the general next week.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Quaglione wins. All you need to do is follow the Democratic tweets to understand. Desperate people do desperate things.
Btw anyone notice Capano is now missing appearances.

    What a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  83. 6:34 is the real joke and further proof that this is a Democratic hate blog. He got elected and re- elected ten times something like a record out this way. So unless you are ignorant you should be able to figure it out. Of course if you are one of the lead haters followers I assume you are either a RINO like him or an enrolled Democrat.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Does anyone recall an elected official who was more visible than Marty?
