Tomorrow is another day !!! --- But will it be another BIG DAY FOR LIAM ??? That’s what McCabe, the McCabe Campaign and the McCabe fund raisers are hoping

Liam McCabe is having a bit of  blast at the Salty Dog tomorrow evening  ---  I know, because I received a robo-call from Liam himself telling me so  ---  also part of that robo-call was Liam McCabe's explaining in his own words what he did at Gracie Manson to dramatize the sad plight of some of his Bay Ridge neighbors  ---   Yes, Liam was getting specific about his >>> collect the garbage and bring it to the mayor <<<  demonstration

Liam also got his share of earned media with a major broadcast network's local affiliate CBS 2 New York coverage of his protest of changes in Sanitation Department practices that are leaving perhaps hundreds of NYC citizens without the right to full and complete garbage pickup like most of their neighbors, near and far --- these are rights to routine garbage pckup that they had enjoyed for their whole lives, but which were ended by fiat recently by some faceless bureaucrats in city government

The sudden flurry of earlier comments at the end of the comments thread to my most recent post immediately prior to this one doesn’t come close to telling the full story about Liam McCabe's garbage collecting and delivering antics.   To be sure there was some nitpicking about Liam’s “stunt”;  and to be sure there was some preening about the TV news coverage.   But really, all that was about the issue itself  ---  what the folks were complaining about, the very recent non-collection of garbage on a local terrace mews in Bay Ridge ---  and Liam's demonstration to highlight the issues by personally collecting the garbage at his neighbors homes and then carting it into Manhattan, all the way to to Gracie Mansion as a "gift" to Mayor De Blasio.

Some say that Liam didn’t do enough or go so far as engage in civil disobedience (puhleez,  we are Republicans,  we leave the real law-breaking to the crass Dems).   Clearly, some people who know news thought that what Liam did as well worthwhile,  it was a good local TV news story to boot  ---  and mind you not a local-local station,  it was a national network-local with a nice low number (See "Garbage Is Piling Up With City’s New Pickup Rules, Bay Ridge Residents Say" Staff Writer(s) [w/ video link to segment about McCabe], 6/19/17,  CBS 2 NY   [http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2017/06/19/bay-ridge-garbage/]).

However, until now, nobody had mentioned how the McCabe campaign has fully integrated this issue, along with Liam McCabe’s highlighting it with his personal ballsy demonstration immediately into the McCabe of City Council campaign.  Not only that, Liam's robo-call shows that he and his fund raisers have incorporated it into their next fund raising event  ---  the one tomorrow night at the Salty Dog.

In the past, Liam has shown an uncanny ability to parlay his successes  ---  let’s see if his luck holds out through this event at the Salty Dog…..

  1. Gail, I don't know what you're drinking late at night or what you are looking at, but in the light of day it looks like your buddy Liam pulled a transparent political stunt bringing the garbage up to Gracie Mansion. The fact that he didn't leave it there speaks volumes about how Liam didn't think it through and can't follow through on what he starts.
If he put it into his campaign right away, like you wrote in your article up above, then that proves it was nothing more than a stunt right from the start.
As for his 'event' tonight, it is a fund riser plain and simple, and the only measure of its success is how much money $$$$$ it raises.

  5. Friend said she saw pink sheets being carried last night near 14th Avenue with Fran Vella's name on for the Conservative Line. Can anyone else corroborate or verify ?

  6. Has Teddy Wiggs left Brooklyn? Where is he?

    Is he still the Chairman?

I heard he didnt even go to the NYS GOP Dinner last night.

    What a shame.

  10. To Anonymous at 701 - I just saw him the other night at the NYS GOP Dinner with John Cats and Ed Cox making the rounds. I had a long talk with him. Seems to be enjoying not have to deal with Golden, Kassar and their crew. I only saw a few Brooklyn GOP members and that is a shame. Brooklyn had such a strong and vibrant group a few years ago and they always attended the NYS GOP Dinner. Eaton would always take a few tables and we would all go. I miss those days.

Funny that the former Chairman attends the dinner and the current Chairman is nowhere to be found. The GOP in Brooklyn and most of NYC is dead now.

  11. The current Chairman has to get permission from Jerry Kassar before he goes to the bathroom let alone a Republican Dinner.

  12. Last I checked Chairman Cox has been at evry Brooklyn event hosted by Chairman Ghorra, including their new field office in Dyker Heights, and sided with Marty Golden & chairman Ghorra in the chairmanship battle last year!

Bay Ridge Republicans are stringer than ever and winning the Council race will prove that!

  13. What's the story with this guy Ted Ghorra?
Why is he putting up with all the indignity of being Golden's sock puppet?
I heard that he's struggling to keep up with all of Golden's and Kassar's political demands and still keeping up with his legal business.

  14. Anonymous at 638 - Lets be factual now.

You stated Chairman Cox came to every Brooklyn event hosted by Ghorra! That is funny because he hasn't had any events per se.

Chairman Cox did come to the opening of the Field Office since it is a NYS GOP Office. I don't recall seeing Chairman Cox at ANYTHING else in Brooklyn. Look at the GOP FB Page - where else is Chairman Cox in any of those photos except the Field Office Opening.

As for Chairman Cox siding with Golden and Ghorra in last year's convention, that is not true because there was only one side - if you know anything, you know that Ghorra ran unopposed - and even unopposed, he still could only get 335 proxies there. What a referendum on Ghorra's Chairmanship.

    Please be truthful!!!!!!

  17. Ted Ghorra is a smart guy with a good law practice at a top firm. I don't think he signed up for this knowing he'd be Golden and Kassar's sock puppet.

  18. I know for a fact that Craig Eaton is very much involved in local and city GOP politics -- much more than people even think

  19. I was at the McCabe fundraiser and it was packed. Diverse crowd. Lesbians, Hasids, bikers, and of course pasty faced Irish guys. The point is McCabe has appeal to democrats which is the only way to win in November.

  20. 3:17 nailed it.

What has changed since Quaglione and Capano took turns losing? The only thing thats changed is Republicans have lost ground.

  21. RESPONSE: THE "IMPRESSIVE CROWD" EDITION

    TWIMC

My best and second best Baker Street Irregulars were at the McCabe bash at the Salty Dog last night.

They report that there was a very large, enthusiastic and diverse crowd at Liam's fund raiser. In fact, it was specifically noted to me that there was at least one very significant Democrat mover and shaker in the house, who has been behind Liam from the very beginning.....

In spite of all of the above, as I stated in my main post above, the only thing that matters about the Salty Dog event is how much money it generates for the McCabe Campaign -- eventually, that will be a matter of public record at the NYCCFB..... that will be when I will call the night at the Salty Dog a success, not before.

  22. Gale is disagree with your thoughts on money.

Money is not everything. The soul of a campaign and the Karma that generates from it is what translates into love and harmony within our electoral process.

  24. I hear the Brooklyn GOP Event last night at Encore, sponsored by Ghorra, Golden, Doherty, Bruno and Colarinda was a big dud....less than 25 people were there and the people that were there were very disappointed. After all, they had John Travolta's dance floor there. Look at Mccabes photos on FB. Looks like him and his girlfriend were there alone.

I wonder if Chairman Cox was one of the 25 people who attended since I hear comes to all of Ghorra's events. LOL

Another great event by the lackluster Brooklyn GOP.

Clarinda trying to make a comeback. Not a good start of the comeback

  38. OPPORTUNIST! How dare you?
Don't forget you're talking about THE Marty Golden of Bay Ridge, King of the Hill, and greatest Republican in Brooklyn ever, or at least since Bobby DiCarlo left Brooklyn.

  39. I just read in the Bay Ridge Eagle that Donovan endorsed Malliotakis.
The good Congressman has now endorsed Malliotakis and McCabe. It seems Marty Golden and Quaglione are on the outside looking in. With McCabes piece on Quaglione and his noting he is carrying petitions for Malliotakis not Quaglione i see an endorsment of MCCabe by Malliotakis in the next week...

  42. It's fascinating how Liam is now carrying the Ghorra BKGOP flag, yet he hired Gerry O’Brien to be on his campaign? Something doesn’t seem to add up here. All signs point to Liam's girlfriend Manhattanite Alexis Shearer the District Leader. Looks to me like Alexis is driving the bus now for Team McCabe and was behind his angry letter to Quaalude Quaglione

    TWIMC OF THE COMMENTERS ABOVE.....

PLEASE, TRY HARDER TO BE COMMENTATORS AND NOT MERELY COMMENTERS

"COMMENTERS" CLEARLY MANIFEST LOTS OF EMOTION --- WHEREAS "COMMENTATORS" PRESENT FACTS, OR NEAR FACTS, TOGETHER WITH RELEVANT ARGUMENTS ONE WAY OR THE OTHER; AND VERY OCCASIONALLY, MULTIPLE WAYS

My experience on this blog gives me the following insight and/or opinion --- most of the comments, especially during this 2017 election cycle, have been of the visceral and/or emotional sort, often completely detached from any factual moorings whatsoever..... There's been lots of building up or tearing down LIAM, BOB or JOHNNY BOY, and/or occasionally one or more of the DEMS running for the council in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and other surrounding nabes..... I think more people are looking at this site to get some real NEWS about all those guys and the lone gal.....

In fact, I'm pretty sure that the one hundred to two hundred visitors to this site every day --- and the four, five or six hundred prying eyes that tap in on peak days --- would prefer as much FACTUAL COMMENTARY AS POSSIBLE.....

So let's try a little more brain and a little less spleen >>> going forward..... HMMMMM ??? !!! ???

OR TO BORROW A WELL-WORN PHRASE >>> "IF YOU SEE [HEAR OR KNOW] SOMETHING --- SAY SOMETHING"

Thank you, for your kind attention to these matters.....
