NYC MAYOR DE BLASIO MUST END NYC "SANCTUARY CITY" POLICY NOW, SAYS GOP COUNCIL CANDIDATE
Capano says, “It's bad enough that our city taxpayer dollars are used to pay for social services for those here illegally [and New City government gives illegal aliens ‘fugazi identification’] --- but now --- the Mayor is willing to risk billions of dollars in federal grant money that can be used to improve the lives of everyday New Yorkers who are here legally."
Standing
out among New York City Republicans, Bob Capano, who is a candidate for
Brooklyn's 43rd Council District in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst,
today supported President Trump's recent Executive Order: Enhancing Public
Safety in the Interior of the United States
--- At the same time, GOP candidate Bob Capano also called
upon Mayor Bill de Blasio to end what Capano describes as NYC's "sanctuary
city" policies.
Capano is a Bay Ridge resident, who was one of the first local Republicans to endorse Donald Trump to be the GOP candidate for President, stated that -----"It is time for our city to stop protecting criminals here illegally and end our sanctuary city policies. The Mayor only has himself to blame if New York City loses $7 billion because he doesn't want to follow federal law. It's bad enough that our city taxpayer dollars are used to pay for social services for those here illegally and give them fugazi identification, but now the Mayor is willing to risk billions of dollars in federal grant money that can be used to improve the lives of everyday New Yorkers who are here legally."
During his speech at the Department of Homeland Security yesterday, President Trump announced his Executive Order that would withhold federal grants from what are now called “sanctuary cities.” In that speech, President Trump said that --- "These jurisdictions (cities) have caused immeasurable harm to the American people and to the very fabric of our Republic."
UPDATE: THE "BROOKLYN YRS PICK UP CAPANO'S BEAT AND JOIN THE MARCH" EDITION
ReplyDeleteBROOKLYN YOUNG REPUBLICANS APPLAUD CANDIDATE BOB CAPANO AND ASSEMBLY MEMBER NICOLE MALLIOTAKIS --- JOIN IN CAPANO'S AND MALLIOTAKIS' CALL FOR NYC TO END "SANCTUARY CITY" STATUS
YRS SAY -- DE BLASIO'S REFUSAL TO FOLLOW FEDERAL LAW WOULD COST CITY BILLIONS IN FEDERAL GRANTS
In their own words: "Today, the Brooklyn Young Republicans applauded Brooklyn City Council candidate Bob Capano (R-Bay Ridge) and Republican Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis for their public statements calling on Mayor de Blasio to end New York City's 'sanctuary city' status.... Vito DiGiovanni, President of the Brooklyn Young Republicans stated, 'It is outrageous that Mayor de Blasio would risk billions of dollars of needed federal funding to protect those here illegally that commit crimes against New Yorkers. Bob Capano and Nicole Malliotakis are showing the courage to stand up for what is right, not what is politically correct.'... Vito Palmeri, Treasurer of the Brooklyn Young Republicans said, 'sanctuary cities are harboring people who broke the law. They completely disrespect the hard working, legal immigrants who have gone through and are still waiting to get into this country the right way.'..."
Note to Bob Capano and his "genius" campaign team. Trump got trounced in Bay Ridge, while he's right on the substance of sanctuary cities most people misunderstand and think of mass deportation force. Find another issue ASAP. You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteBob must not be getting last fall's Bay Ridge election results.
ReplyDeleteDoes Capano really live in Bay Ridge or does he still live on a Staten Island using a fraudulent Brooklyn address and enrollment? Has anyone actually simply run into Capano in Bay Ridge. Seems like he stages everything for social media.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "GOP & CONSERVATIVE INSIDERS, & POLITICAL CONSULTANTS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 9:13 AM"; "ANONYMOUS SAID AT... 1:33 PM"; AND CERTAIN GOP & CONSERVATIVE INSIDERS; AND SOME POLITICAL CONSULTANTS
Those two comments above betray the kind of thinking that has Liam Ambrose McCabe twisted up like a three-ring pretzel.
While Bob Capano is hammering the media and the public with a series of simple, easily understood, conservative messages --- and breaking through with more than his share of earned media on those messages; McCabe is sending out a very mixed and very non-conservative messages about: 1) the homeless; and 2) Islamophobia....
Let's see how this plays-out in 2017's GOP and Conservative primaries.
GM you're doing Bob a disservice by ignoring his glaring mistakes. Trump got trounced in Bay Ridge. It looks like Abbate is not running so that means a Republican has a chance to win the seat. Bob needs to let go of the Trump talk if he wants to be taken seriously as a candidate. Bob's been gone a while and it shows.
ReplyDeleteMcCabe has positioned himself as the compassionate conservative who can get democrats.
ReplyDeleteCapano only gets what all the other Republican losers got.
When Bob ran against Gentile he got about 39% of the vote and at that time that was the worst showing for a Republican candidate in the history of the district. Then John Q ran four year later he got about 34% of the vote in hands down the worst drubbing a Republican candidate has ever been dealt for that seat. We can't keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Bob and John had their chances the voters responded overwhelmingly by rejecting them. I'll take Liam over them any day. We need fresh faces in the party enough is enough.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT ABOUT WILL/LIAM MC CABE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: THE ONE, TWO OR THREE PRO-MC CABE COMMENTERS ABOVE
I said that I thought McCabe has a very mixed up Conservative-Republican message on quite a few issues; and essentially what I got back is that Liam McCabe is some kind of "compassionate conservative."
Just one question, for now..... When the talk was about McCabe's arrest at his son's school, the response was that most Bay Ridge Republicans, Conservatives and Reagan-type Democrats wouldn't mind a father that roughed up his kid for using drugs..... Is that part of what you meant by a "compassionate conservative who can get democrats" ???
GM, all Liam did was grab him by the arm, notwithstanding the rumors being spread by his opponents. Sorry but considering that both Bob and John have taken their shots at this race without having to go throw a primary and had their hats handed to them one worse than the other, Liam grabbin his kid at school means nothing.
ReplyDeleteRepublican losers that have already lost big to Gentile now want to join the Trump bandwagon should take that wagon to west virginia. This is Brooklyn and the Trump show isn't selling here. McCabes early move to address the homeless problem was an example of positioning himself as the only republican who can beat a democrat.
ReplyDeletecapano represents the old bay ridge. the type that moved to staten island which is why he moved to staten island
ReplyDeleteIs the new Bay Ridge full of compassionate conservatives and is McCabe their new voice going to tell people to read his lips to see his thousand points of light? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteCapano and Quag have only proved one thing. They can lose and lose big.
ReplyDeleteBob thinks this is a campaign in Alabama. Liam thinks this is a campaign in supermarkets and subway stations. Q thinks this is a campaign in Marty's district office.
ReplyDeleteTo 10:28
ReplyDeleteI would add that Q is by far the laziest of the three, his devastatingly huge loss last time around destroyed what was left of the Republican party in Bay Ridge, and emboldened the DeBlasio puppets and now we have progressive Justin Brannan as the front runner and bs "peace" marches in Bay Ridge as if this is Apartheid South Africa or something. I agree about Bob and Liam. Bob has no idea where he is campaigning, he might start touting endorsements from Steve Bannon next. Liam thinks he will raise an army of volunteers but most of these people were conservative cronies with patronage jobs at the DA's office, he's in for a rude awakening if he's relying on them.
What happens when you put Kassar and Capano on a seesaw?
ReplyDeleteYou get a broken seesaw.
Wake up, Gail, wake up the rest of you Bay Ridge Republicans, Justin Brannan, who is a Democrat close to Bill DeBlasio, is going to be the next Councilman from Bay Ridge - And that's all she wrote.
ReplyDeleteSomething else Capano and Kassar have in common. Small hands.
ReplyDeleteBACKFILL: THE "WHAT HAPPENED AT MC CABE'S MLK DAY 'SOLIDARITY' MARCH" EDITION
ReplyDeleteMC CABE ACTUALLY SAID THAT HE WANTED TO CHALLENGE THE NARRATIVE OF THE MAJORITY OF "SOLIDARITY" MARCHERS, BUT HE ALSO WANTED TO MARCH "IN SOLIDARITY" --- OR, TO PUT IT ANOTHER WAY --- "... [MC CABE] FELT HE WAS JOINING THE MARCH RATHER THAN PROTESTING IT...."
I DON'T KNOW WHICH PART OF THIS WILL/LIAM MC CABE GAMBIT WAS WORSE --- THE MIXED UP MESSAGE --- THE POOR SHOWING BY A HANDFUL OF "CONSERVATIVES" IN THE FACE OF A "BLOCK LONG" PARADE OF HUNDREDS PROTESTING AGAINST TRUMP'S ELECTION AND HIS VITRIOL AGAINST IMMIGRANTS, MUSLIMS AND WOMEN --- OR THE WAY HE WAS COMPLETELY UNABLE TO ATTRACT ANY OF THE ORIGINAL MARCHERS TO HIS POSITION
According to a Caroline Spivak report for Courier Life's "Brooklyn Daily": "Bay Ridgites clashed at a march intended to unite the community on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.... Hundreds walked along Fourth Avenue in a 'protest against hate' condemning Donald Trump’s election, citing the president-elect’s vitriol against immigrants, Muslims, and women. But a half-dozen conservative locals formed a counter-protest and challenged organizers, who they say overlooked the hate levied against law enforcement and average white people.... 'They were leaving out hate against the police, hate against the white working-class,' said Liam McCabe, a Republican and community activist who felt he was joining the march rather than protesting it. 'I thought their description of hate was very black and white. And I think the reality is, it’s much more nuanced, and so we wanted to challenge their narrative, but march in solidarity. Especially on a day like Martin Luther King day, we wanted to say that there is another side to hate and not everyone accepts their vision of what hate is.'... Ironically, some peace demonstrators hurled insults at McCabe and crew, some onlookers said.... But the contradictory conservatives were asking for it by bringing what appeared to be an intentionally divisive message to the party, another demonstrator said...." (See "Clash at Bay Ridge’s MLK Day ‘solidarity’ march" by Caroline Spivak, 1/18/17, Courier Life's - Brooklyn Daily [http://www.brooklyndaily.com/stories/2017/3/br-counter-protest-at-bay-ridge-anti-trump-mlk-march-2017-01-20-bk.html]).
Here's another instance where Liam's remarks just didn't pass the smell test. On the other hand, McCabe might be such a complex thinker and communicator, he has no problems holding dissonant cognitions and comfortably pitching his internally contradictory messages to the media and the public. Needless to say, I completely believe it's the former; and the latter more complex exposition was completely sarcasm on my part.....
It was simple times, it was complex times. It was the age of wisdom, the age of foolishness, it was the epioch of belief and possibility that one lone sane political activist such as Liam McCabe could unite all in love and harmony to build a beautiful and prosperous America regardless of race or religion.
ReplyDeleteThats why Bay Ridge needs McCabe in the City Council.
Look at Liam's Facebook page. GOLLLLLLLEEEEEE GEEEEE! McCabe looks like he wants something that will fly well with the Bay Ridge's leftist Democrats' crowd.
ReplyDeleteSo Liam, who thinks he's set as the Conservative-Republican candidate, thought he could go right out there as a conservative Republican and march in solidarity with assorted anti-Trump Islamists, feminists, open-border Democrats and 'Black Lives Matter' types. What a joke - AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
How well did all that work for Liam on MLK Day? How's that been working out for him ever since?
Is McCabe in a program yet? He needs some kind of intervention really bad. He's got lots of stinkin' thinkin'.
ReplyDeleteIs Liam still looking really bad on Sunday mornings, or does he have a campaign baby sitter yet?
ReplyDeleteThe latest executive order now makes nutty Bannon General Bannon.
ReplyDeleteCan we at least have real Generals running this Junta?
I was a regular viewer of this blog as it mixed local and national politics on a level I enjoyed. No more. Now its evolved into middle aged guys making sophmoric fat jokes about each other.
ReplyDeleteSigning off.
Oh, so it's you against the fat-shaming is it, me Bucko!
ReplyDeleteNobody has even approached the recent entry of Nancy Tung into the race. I think she has everyone licked.
ReplyDeleteYou amuse me, Mr. Spade.
