YESTERDAY, BOB CAPANO WAS A GUEST ON CURTIS SLIWA'S "DRIVE AT FIVE" RADIO SHOW ON ABC 770

ON AIR: CURTIS SLIWA TALKED TO BOB CAPANO ABOUT OPPOSING THE $$$$ DEPOSITS FOR PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS PROPOSED BY COUNCIL SPEAKER MELISSA MARK-VIVERITO

***  AND THEN SLIWA SEGUED TO CAPANO'S RUN FOR THE CITY COUNCIL IN BROOKLYN  ---  AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF: CURTIS SLIWA SAID THAT HE'LL GO "ALL IN" FOR BOB'S BEING THE GOP CANDIDATE TO TAKE VINNY GENTILE'S SEAT >>> "... BECAUSE THIS GUY IS STRAIGHT UP..."  ***

______________________

HERE'S THE  SLIWA "MONEY SHOT" FOR CAPANO

Curtiss Sliwa concluded yesterday's interview with Bob Capano by stating the following on air [http://www.wabcradio.com/the-drive-at-5-with-curtis/]:

>>> "It looks like Bob's going to be running for the City Council in Brooklyn's 43rd district...Bob is a Republican. I will do everything that I can to work for Bob's election out there because this guy is straight up." <<<

NOW, THAT REALLY IS "EARNED MEDIA"  ---  GOOD JOB BOB !!!

Get ready for some comments here from quaglione and his hack friends. Just like they said noone reads a particular bay ridge paper when capano is featured in it, i am sure they will now say no one listens to wabc radio at 5pm or some other silly reason why it doesnt matter...hahahaha

  2. Conservatives already making a deal with Peter Abate for City Council run. This could spell trouble for Bob Capano and John Quaglione and not just for the obvious reasons, More people will jump into race. Republican primary will have a much more crowded field than most expect.

  3. Curtis Sliwa is a fat old Italian guy from the bronx who dropped out of high school but wears a shiny red jacket like a tough puerto rican kid.

  4. RESPONSE: THE "LET'S DO IT WITH STYLE" EDITION

THE THREE TOUGHTFUL COMMENTS ABOVE ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED IN THESE PARTS --- BUT NOBODY IS PERFECT --- MOST/LEAST OF ALL YOU GUYS & DOLLS.....

To: "Anonymous said... at 9:20 AM" -- I would love to have said, "From Len a 'Ten'," but I can't. Everything was great until "...hahahaha"; much better if you'd have done it like this: "AH-HAHAHAHA !!! ..." CAPS BEING THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, next the exclamation points; but a very good job all around, and very entertaining.

For "Anonymous said... at (:42 AM" -- unless you can provide some details, it's just another conspiracy theory. Nonetheless, I loved it, because I have never met a conspiracy theory that hasn't almost "plunk[ed my] magic twanger, Froggy."

Lastly, there's the grumpy Gus, "Anonymous said... at 11:12 AM" -- what can I say ??? Your negativity is well-expressed, but your Curtis Sliwa ethnic slams might need some fact-checking. A very good snarky concept, though; and not badly delivered; I liked it a lot.

  5. People are sick and tired of the Brooklyn GOP putting up the same old tired candidates and or people that have run before and gotten trounced, now you have everybody and their cousin trying to move to Bay Ridge to run for something anything to keep their names in the local papers. As things stand right now there are going to be at least two Republican candidates in the Primary that are currently registered Republicans are living in Bay Ridge right now and have never run for public office before. Gonna make the previous Queens drama look civilized.

  6. RESPONSE: THE "VERY NICE, VERY NICE" EDITION

    TO: "ANNONYMOUS SAID... 3:05 PM"

I think it's very nice, very nice indeed, that you want to participate in this discussion about somebody running in some kind of GOP primary.... The problem with what you said about all that is there are seldom, if ever, any real "stealth candidacies" for local offices like the state senate or assembly or city council.

So what are the chances that there might be two of them, and that they're happening simultaneously ???

But, thanks for playing --- better luck next time.....

  7. GM you are the only one who thinks Bob Capano will be nominated by anybody. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  8. GM is just out of the know if the information can not be obtained from Lucretia or Russ Gallo or anyone from that crowd. GM Sorry that you cry anytime someone tells you that one of your cronies aren't the only people who are going to be running for City Council.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Your right, there is a large, huge, great movement for Liam Mccabe right???

    ReplyDelete

  10. Any party who nominates Capano will be saying to us that their party is dead and irrelevant because they have no one else to run, but some guy from another borough.

It's time to look through the community for a viable candidate and stop running people who have proven that they are disconnected losers.

  11. UPDATE: THE "BOB IS NOT SITTING ON HIS HANDS" EDITION

BOB CAPANO WASN'T CONTENT TO SIT ON HIS LAURALS OR HIS GLUTES EITHER

    >>> WHILE HIS INTRA-MURAL OPPONENTS & BACK-BITERS RAN HITHER & THITHER DITHERING ABOUT ANOTHER IN HIS GROWING LIST OF CAPANO COUPS, BOB DID HIS OWN SOCIAL MEDIA AND E-MAIL BACKFILL TO HIS BASE OF CORE SUPPORTERS <<<

ALSO THERS'S A REPORT THAT PART OF THE SLIWA-CAPANO INTERVIEW WAS PICKED UP AND RE-BROADCAST ON A RADIO STAION OTHER THAN WABC

Soon to be announced Republican City Council candidate from Brooklyn Robert Capano sent the following electronic message to selected friends and supporters [along with downloads of an audio-clip of his appearance on the Curtis Sliwa program in two different formats]:
    "Friends,
I thought you may be interested in the attached, which is the audio clip of my appearance on the Curtis Sliwa "Drive at Five" radio show yesterday on WABC 770am discussing the proposed City Council legislation that would require retail stores to charge New Yorkers five cents for each bag.... As I said on air, this is just another example of nickle and diming New Yorkers that will cause confusion and longer lines for customers.... The segment is about five minutes.
    Bob"

A single source has told us that part of Bob Capano's interview by Curtis Sliwa on WABC was picked up and re-broadcast on WINS.

I'll do my own "BACKFILL" comment about the radio echo of Caapano's WABC interview on another station as soon as I can.....

  12. I just heard capano interviewed on 1010 wins..wasnt a replay of sliwa appearance.

  13. BACKFILL: THE "IN HIS OWN WORDS" EDITION

BOB CAPANO IS NOW CALLING HIS PROSPECTIVE CANDIDACY FOR THE NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL "PROBABLE"

--- LET ME TELL YOU --- RIGHT NOW, CAPANO'S CAMPAIGN FOR CITY COUNCIL FROM SOUTHWEST BROOKLYN IS FAR MORE THAN PROBABLE

A recent bob Capano press release entitled " ***MEDIA AVAILABILITY*** " prominently proclaimed the following:
"BOB CAPANO, A GRISTEDES SUPERMARKET MANAGER AND PROBABLE REPUBLICAN CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FOR THE 43RD DISTRICT IN BROOKLYN..."

    _____________________

My conversations with Capano, some of his insiders, potential consultants in the race, and most important, Brooklyn GOP leaders >>> who had been approached by Capano for their support <<< --- ALL of them indicated to me that Capano is certainly running for the City Council seat from the 43rd Councilmatic District.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I have been actively involved in nyc politics for 35 years and can say this is full court professional operation taking big time advantage of getting Capano out there boroughwide and city wide on this bag fee issue based on his private sector business experience, which also happens to highlight the contrast with other possible GOP council candidates being mentioned. There are big forces at work here..

    ReplyDelete
  15. You are going to continue to be on the outside looking in when John Q is thr next Councilman.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The Brooklyn GOP nominee not going to be Capano, Quaglione, Potter, McCabe, or Gallo and sadly for Conservatives not gonna be Abatte either. GM totally out of the loop and for information is at mercy of tidbits from tired old hacks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ted Ghorra for Council!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ted Ghorra makes around five times what a City Councilman makes but a well regarded lawyer who hasn't run before wouldn't be a bad idea for the GOP in this race.

    ReplyDelete
  19. The sad truth is some name recognition is helpful

    ReplyDelete
  20. Name recognition only helps when it is not associated with people getting blown out in elections.

    ReplyDelete
  21. John Q as the biggesr blow out in this council election in 2 decades

    ReplyDelete
  22. It must be Tedd Ghora who posted his name above, because he is definitely the only one who would propose that he run...he is a horrible leader if thats what you want to call him, and his only claim to fame in politics is that he was Grimm's person to fill vacancies if Grimm had to leave, and you all see how that turned out....

There is something very peculiar about him....cant put my finger on it...nut there is...do you guys agee?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ted is a fresh, new face as all want here

    ReplyDelete
  24. Fresh new face, are you serious?
Teddy Ghorra has already been involved in at least one backroom deal where public assets were expended for his political gain. Now, is he going to run as his own first candidate for City Council in the 43rd Council District?
Let's see what Ghorra has to say in the case next Thursday. First, what does he know and when did her learn it? Next,is everything that he has done and is doing to get the GOP County leadership actually being done to advance his run for the City Council?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Is a democrat running against Golden?

That race starts in a few weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Why isn't fresh new face Simon Shamoun running for the City Council?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Here is the bottom line- as much as Gallo, Eaton & his crew try to dust up Golden he is still in charge of Bay Ridge GOP politics and will decide who runs for council. FACT

    ReplyDelete
  28. Word is that Pat Russo thinking about it as well as a couple of other non Golden or Eaton loyalists.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Pat Russo is a kassar loyalist

    ReplyDelete
  30. a birdie told me that annarumo is considering a run. this is getting crazy...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ghorra.....loser with no experience and some other problems which should be apparent to everyone
    Russo......loser twice already
    Kassar....an absolute waste of life......
Golden.....can barely control his own block let alone Bay Ridge.....
Liam...nice guy but already working above his pay grade.......
Quaglione.....real nice guy but gullible....should finally recognize that Golden and Kassar will never let him amount to anything other than a Golden staffer
    Clorinda...is she still around?

I have a brilliant idea....they should draft Cochrane to move back to the Ridge, sell his hot dog stand and run...he can get at least as many votes as he got running for Congress......

Now that is funny!!!!! and Golden, I hear that Hot Dog Timmy likes LI-BURIES.....Isnt that how you pronounce Libraries?

  32. Agree with 2:00pm comments

  33. Regina Potter-ran and lost about 15 times already all by double digit margins

Gallo-ran against a weak opponent and lost by 50 points in a three man race his petty jealousy and infighting has burned a lot of bridges

Capano-lost in landslides both times he ran and hasn't lived in Bay Ridge since Mike McMahon was its Congressman needs to find something better to do with his obviously abundant spare time

    ReplyDelete
  34. RESPONSE: THE "IT HAS TO BE SAID" EDITION

SOME OF THIS STUFF IS LOL FUNNY --- NO SERIOUSLY, IT'S REALLY FUNNY STUFF

TO: ALL OF THE COMMENTERS ABOVE [EXCLUDING ME]

Please, keep up the good work & don't hold beck.....

    ReplyDelete
  35. What dig Gallo do wrong other than exposing the truth about Marty for all to see??

Capano gets attacked for "spare time" for being on WABC radio and 1010 wins? Sounds more like envy by 2:38

    ReplyDelete
  36. Gallo has backed Democrats rather than see Republicans win, aside from Berardelli no one can stand him. He got crushed when he ran and is a great self promoter but no substance. Tried to run a write in campaign against Grimm last time and got 12 votes--pathetic. Capano barely won a spot on Richmond County Committee for GOP, still lives on Staten Island as he has for the last five years. Capano has also lost in landslides when he ran. Sad state of affairs for Brooklyn Republicans.

    ReplyDelete
  37. McCabe is the only one who can win.

  40. BACKFILL: THE "JUST BACKFILL" EDITION

CAPANO'S STATEMENTS ABOUT THE MELISSA MARK-VIVERITO & BRAD LANDER BAG DEPOSIT BILL WERE BROADCAST BY WINS AFTER HE HAD MADE SOME SIMILAR POINTS ON THE CURTIS SLIWA RADIO PROGRAM ON WABC

My sources have indicated that Bob Capano's remarks were broadcast on two New York area radio stations a few days ago; and that those remarks were from two separate interiews.

  41. UPDATE: THE "JUST AN UPDATE" EDITION

BOB CAPANO, WHO IS A GRISTEDES SUPERMARKET MANAGER ON THE UPPER EAST SIDE IN MANHATTAN, IS MAKING HIMSELF AVAILABLE TODAY TO COMMENT ON AN EXPECTED CITY COUNCIL VOTE THURSDAY ON LEGISLATION, WHICH WOULD REQUIRE RETAIL STORES & SUPERMARKETS CITY-WIDE TO CHARGE THEIR CUSTOMERS 5 CENTS FOR EACH AND EVERY BAG.

CAPANO CAN EXPLAIN THE NEGATIVE IMPACT THAT THIS LEGISLATION CAN BE EXPECTED TO HAVE ON MANY BUSINESSES AND MOST NEW YORKERS --- THESE WOULD INCLUDE AN IMMEDIATE NEGATIVE IMPACT ON LOW-INCOME NEW YORKERS AND LONGER LINES FOR ALL CONSUMERS IN ANY STORES THAT PACK PURCHASES USING PLASTIC AND OTHER BAGS.

    How's them apples ???
