Boy this really is a good Friday — More Capano media buzz & Rumors of a sad outcome for the “Golden” side in the infamous “... Lawsuit”

CAPANO PAYS FOR HALF-PAGE AD SAYING “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH” —  DECRIES NEW CONDITIONS THAT HAMSTRING & ENDANGER POLICE OFFICERS  —  CALLS ON CITY GOVERNMENT TO “...  SUPPORT OUR NYPD, AND STOP PROMOTING POLICIES THAT HAND-CUFF OUR COPS AND ARE MAKING OUR CITY LESS SAFE...”

Meanwhile, there are rumors that things AGAIN aren’t going very well in court for Marty Golden and his attempts to take over the Brooklyn GOP

Sometimes things just fall into place; and that’s how it is at the beginning of this Easter weekend. A couple of my BSI’s contacted me by phone and E-mail with a couple of interesting leads.

BOB CAPANO

First, I got word that Bob Capano did another advertising buy. The ad appears in this week’s “ Bay Ridge Courier” on page five (5).

Capano’s ad hits all of the right “Law & Order” themes that mean so much to the people of Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights: Bob’s ad mentions surveys showing that Brooklynites feel that their lifestyles are going down; and that they’re feeling “less safe”; it mentions Bob’s strong familial ties to the NYPD in Police Precincts covering Bay Ridge and nearby neighborhoods; and police surveys showing that cops feel a need to pull back due to lawsuits and non-support by NYC government.

Bob Capano shows, yet again, that he now knows that becoming a Member of the NY City Council is a process of building – building – building.

In this instance, Bob shows that he is not content to sit back and enjoy the “blue ribbon” treatment that he got from the “Kings County Politics” blog earlier this week >>>  in an interview piece Bob set up for John Catsimatidis (See “John Catsimatidis Interview: Discusses Presidential Election And City Politics” by Staff Writers, 3/22/16, Kings County Politics [http://www.kingscountypolitics.com/john-catsemedies-supermarket-barron-moderate-nyc-republican/]). The most important part of the laudatory mention of Capano in that article was the obvious nod from the Big-Cat Man in favor of Bob’s prospective candidacy for the City Council spot in Southwest Brooklyn.

MEANWHILE  —   “THE LAWSUIT”  —   COURT SAYS GOLDEN STILL OVER 100 VOTES SHORT —  PLUS THE GOLDEN STAFF & FRAUDULENT PROXIES ISSUE IS STILL ALIVE & KICKING

Also going forward to Easter and a spring of blooming glory  — RUMOR HAS IT that things are again not going very well for Marty Golden in court. This time, it’s about his second attempt to take over the whole Brooklyn GOP establishment, by hook or crook. According to my sources and E-courts notations, on March 21st the NYS Supreme Court handed down a ruling saying that the “Golden faction” was still over a hundred delegates short in its attempt to take over the Brooklyn GOP.

The word going forward is that April 6th is a big day because Justice Edgar Walker will set up a hearing schedule that might well require the testimony of Marty Golden and all of his staff, including the Kings County Conservative Party Chairman Jerry Kassar, to testify how Marty Golden and his folks went about getting his proxies for the Brooklyn Republican Party Convention in 2015.

Since the KCRP side says that they have evidence that Marty Golden and/or his staff were directly involved in the fraudulent inducement of certified Brooklyn GOP delegates, this should be a very interesting hearing schedule indeed..

  1. Whatever Walkers decision is will be appealed and probably reversed.

    Walker never gets it right.

  2. Interesting that a sitting Judge allowed 170 fraudulent proxies held by a sitting State Senator.

    ReplyDelete
  3. In election proceedings in Supreme Court, aren't the hearings supposed to allow a de novo review of all the matters that were put into dispute? How can 170 proxies that had been ruled invalid be deemed valid before the hearing? Just askin'.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Does any of this matter. Hasnt marty already won the war. Craig Eaton is gone with zero influence or involvement in brooklyn republican politics.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Didn't one of the plaintiffs, Diane Rudiano, say in her legal papers that those at the convention should have looked into all of the proxies that were obtained by fraud, why didn't the judge order that? If the committee of the whole, all the convention delegates, has that right, isn't the court taking that away from them?

  6. OBSERVATION & QUERY: THE "FOUR-TO-ONE COMMENTS RATIO" EDITION

IN THE FIVE COMMENTS ABOVE, FOUR ARE OBVIOUSLY FROM THE "EATON FACTION" AND ONE IS FROM THE "GOLDEN FACTION"

The "Eatons" appear to be arguing the relative merits of the case, whereas the one "Golden" is arguing that the case doesn't matter.

What does that tell you? My guess is it means Marty's side knows that they've lost in court --- AGAIN

The "Golden Faction's" fall-back argument about Craig Eaton's influence and involvement in Brooklyn Republican politics sounds more like sour grapes than a statement of the facts on the ground.

  7. OOPS: THE "I LEFT OUT MY QUERY" EDITION

So sorry, my question is a simple one. Just who do you think the author of the comment by "ANONYMOUS SAID... 3:40 PM" might be ???

My guess is ..... Oh, who cares about my guess....

    ReplyDelete
  8. Anonymous at 340, you really have it all wrong. You see Eaton left Golden with a few poison pillls.....Arnalod Ferraro for one, and four losses to Golden since 2013 which brought major embarrassment to him and his dimented sidekick Kassar.......

After what Golden tried to do to the Brooklyn GOP, people around Brooklyn, and especially in Bay Rider have lost a lot of respect to Golden. Yeah they suck up to him and kiss him when they see that old white face on the street (key word being old - isnt he in his mid 60s now - remember what happened to Serph Maltese and Frank Padavan when they hit that age - but many of them are no happy with how he has treated many people during his corrupt career as a politician.....

  9. You are sooo right Annon at 421...Golden legacy is sinking. And doesnt he look older these days. I guess the weight of all the investigations and the drinking and _____over the years has caught up with him.

  11. This stuff about Castimides bankrolling some shmoe running for city council cracks me up.
Castimides will write a $500 check. Maybe.
Why would a councilman matter to Castimides or anyone else?

  12. Catsamatdes does not care for marty g after he supported joe lhota over him after catsamatedes generously donated to marty. Why wouldn't he support capano someone who has worked for him for years and who are friends and that would also get back at marty by goibg against his candidate (quaglione)? ? If capano wins it is clearly also a catsamatedes win in nyc politics, of course he wants that.

  13. RESPONSE: THE "CATSIMATIDIS-CAPANO" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOSU SAID..." "...9:18 AM" & "...10:58 AM"

Well done, my good, fine & formidable commentators !!!

The two of you pretty much bracketed the spectrum on the Catsimatidis-Capano $$$$-train discussion; and you did it with the first two shots out of the barrel on this topic.

I have this compound question to ask each/both of you: is one of you John Quaglione and the other Bob Capano ???

  14. RESPONSE: THE "SOMEBODY'S BEEN WATCHIN' 'SPARTICUS' TOO MUCH" EDITION

Actually, all I wanted to say is "I am Liam McCabe....."

    ReplyDelete
  15. Capano sounds like a real idiot. He interprets a survey about people feeling the quality of life is being diminished with a need for more cops.

Does Capano still think its the 1980's?

Its the cops that are wrecking our quality of life.

    ReplyDelete
  16. In a 3 way gop primary capano will be third behind quaglione and mccabe

    ReplyDelete
  17. Only a left-wing pinko reefer-stinkin burnout, who likes and is like Mayuh duhBlahz, would say something like that. GET OFF THIS SITE, IT IS ONLY FOR REAL REPUBLICAN AMERICANS

    ReplyDelete
  18. So in that "daisy chain", Capano is ramming Quaglione and Quaglione is ramming McCabe.

But that is only YOUR fantasy, because McCabe is not getting into any GOP three-way, especially if it is at the front end of a d-chain with a stiffer waiting for a hand-around from his buddy Quaglione.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mccabe will have a wilson pakula from chairman ghorra

    ReplyDelete
  20. Can't wait to see the mailings for McCabe's Republican Primary opponent.

    ReplyDelete
  21. RESPONSE: THE "GHORRA'S NEXT SHOT IS IN 2017" EDITION

GHORRA CAN'T GIVE ANY WILSON-PAKULA FOR A PRIMARY WHERE HE'S TRYING TO BECOME CHAIRMAN FOR THE FIRST TIME

My sources clearly indicated to me that Teddy Ghorra won't be the GOP County Chairman for a very long time, if ever. Even with the "alleged fraudulently obtained proxies" awarded to the "Golden Faction" -- a factual finding without any kind of factual hearing (a no-no by the Court, subject to an appeal by the "Eaton Faction") -- the "Golden Faction" remains over a hundred delegates short of winning the chairmanship for Ghorra.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 3:34..please explain what you mean by mailings "for mccabe republican primary opponent"..do you mean for ir against mccabe, or for or against quaglione or capano??

    ReplyDelete
  23. Let me jump in on this. I think 3:34 meant mailings against McCabe. You know Trumpish, boorish stuff that the rest of the public says OMG that's terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  24. A mailing saying mccabe is a conservative not a republican wont hurt him i dont think with rep primary voters..

  26. Judge Walker ruled that Eaton's credentials committee overstepped their authority. He restored most of Golden's proxies. He intends to oversee a review of the other objections. Golden cannot lose. Ferraro cannot win. That was the outcome.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Maybe that's part of what that Bronx hack Walker, who doesn't have a home county, said. What Walker didn't do was hold a hearing about the alleged fraudulent proxies or send the whole thing back to the GOP County Committee for them to pass on it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Mr. 4:27 I was thinking something more like a mailing saying that Liam McCabe had to be suspended from his job for an indicted &convicted congressman because of McCabe's intolerable behavior. Lots of people might think that kind of activity disqualifies a "Republican" candidate from the Conservative Party. And I there's lots more than that.

McCabe needs to wait until his personal problems have cooled off and it's safe for him to run. That should be right after it's safe for TV comics to use Hitler-Holocaust humor because everybody thinks it's cool to tell those kind of jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  29. McCabe disciplined his kid and was punished for it. I fail to see how that hurts him.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I got 2 nice mailings from Liam McCabe. He is the ONLY one doing direct mail already!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Were those the ones about Dan Donovan's "Meet & Greet" paid for by the Conservative Party of New York State? If that is so, how is it that your calling them Liam McCabe's mailings?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think Anon at 9:34 needs glasses if they think that McCabe doesn't have a "problem."
If he just "disciplined his kid" then why was he arrested and "punished for it"?

McCabe needs to deal with his inner demons and forget about politics.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The arrest was years ago and I heard his demons are in check.. people love combacks

  39. UPDATE: THE "BOB CAPANO IS NOW THE ONE AND ONLY AVATAR OF 'REPUBLICANS' IN BAY RIDGE AND DYKER HEIGHTS" EDITION

BOB CAPANO'S SINGLAR FIGHT AGAINST ALL OF THE BROOKLYN DEMOCRATS' POLITICOS HAS BEEN SO INTENSE THAT A LOCAL POLITICAL BLOG AND A DEMOCRAT SPOKESPERSON REFER TO CAPANO, STANDING ALONE, AS >>> "BROOKLYN REPUBLICANS" <<<

THE DEMOCRAT RESPONDING, CHRIS McCREIGHT TREATS BOB CAPANO AS IF HE IS >>> THE OFFICIAL GOP SPOKESPERSON ON THE SUBJECT OF POLICING POLICY <<<

According to Steve Witt wring in his Kings County Politics Blog, "The war of words between Bay Ridge Democrats and Republicans – the borough’s only neighborhood with a healthy two-party system – continued today with Bob Capano, a longtime GOP operative calling out local Dems for not questioning City Council Speaker Melissa Mark Viverito‘s proposed criminal justice reforms.... Capano, who was born and raised in Bay Ridge, but now lives in Staten Island, is strongly considering moving back to his home turf to run for City Council Member Vincent Gentile‘s 43rd District seat next year when he is term limited out of office...." (See "Bay Ridge Showdown Part 2: Republicans Call Out Dems On Criminal Justice Reforms" by Stephen Witt, 3/29/16, Kings County Politics [http://www.kingscountypolitics.com/bay-ridge-showdown-part-2-republicans/]).

CAPANO ASKS: "WILL ONE DEMOCRATIC LEADER SHOW THE COURAGE..."
"Kings County Politics" bog quoted Bob Capano, as follows: "Throughout my long history of public and community service in Brooklyn, I have always taken great pride in working for and with Democrats and Republicans. I have taken on some of the extreme views of my own Republican Party, and now I hope there are some Democratic leaders in our community who will do the same here, and stand up to City Council Speaker Melissa Mark Viverito and say enough is enough with the far-left criminal justice ‘reforms’ that are having a dangerous impact on our cops and neighborhoods,” said Capano.... Whether it is the countless monitors looking over the shoulders of our cops, de-criminalizing quality of life crimes, erasing open warrants for offenders, closing Rikers Island, or not giving officers a raise despite the City Council giving themselves one for over 30%, it seems there is no common sense left in the City Council, or should I say the ‘silly’ council. Will one democratic leader show the courage and put our cops and communities over blind party loyalty to City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito? .... As the nephew of two former Brooklyn cops, I can not remain silent. I know that the vast majority of residents of Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, and Brooklyn support our NYPD, and do not want to go backwards when it comes to public safety....”

    DEMOCRAT SPOKESMAN REPLIES TO CAPANO
According to Stephen Witt's reporting, ".... Bay Ridge Democrats spokesperson Chris McCreight responded that Republicans should be the last people to complain about criminal justice reforms.... 'Whether it’s assaulting a female reporter, tax evasion, or bribery, it speaks volumes that Bob and other Staten Island Republicans say nothing when their own party is involved in criminal activity....”

what a night last night. over 150 people. As said all over social media by McCabe "Brooklyn Conservatives & Republicans are activated and mobilized".. .
Eaton et al can now see how it is done as they are on sidelines.
By the way, Capano was not there either.

    ReplyDelete
  48. 4:31, "...all over social media by McCabe" where exactly? "...activated and mobilized" for what? "Eaton et al..." who is that? "...Sidelines" what game are you talking about?

  49. RESPONSE: THE "DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ" EDITION

IF you believed everything that "Anonymous said... at 4:31 AM" said, then Liam McCabe had two events on two successive nights, and over 150 people were at both of them.....

Now, THAT would be impressive, I think.....

Many former elected officials such as Mega and Arculeo were in attendance. Even Armand Starace sang a showtune

  52. There are going to be about five or six candidates vying for the Republican nomination. People were going to stand aside if it was Bob against John but if Bob against John against Liam against Russell then expect a couple of old familiar faces to also enter the race.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I heard that Arnaldo had over a thousand guests at his Lincoln Day bash, and that Trump was the main speaker; but Kasich and Tom Cruise also made appearances.

I also heard that Ted Cruz showed up and he was turned away by Arnaldo's right-hand person, Lucretia Regina-Potter. Lucretia said that only one person with a name like "Ted Cruz" would be admitted to avoid any confusion. When the candidate TC said his name was different than the other TC's, Lucretia said it was too close for most Brooklyn Republicans to tell the difference. When candidate TC said "But, I'm the real Ted Cruz...." Lucretia answered, "Since the choice is between Tom Cruise or Ted Cruz, what chance do you think you have"?

    ReplyDelete
  54. You know what I heard, when Ted Cruz went across the street for a drink, he bumped into a guy at the bar, who said he was kept out for the exact same reason. After that Ted Cruz and Johnny Crews had a grand old time together.
