Something is very wrong with the establishment Republicans — Many of the top-tier and far-behind GOP candidates have jumped on Donald Trump and his NON-response to the OBAMA-MUSLIM question — It shows that they have completely bought into “Political Correctness” — and that real questions by real Americans scares the piss out of them
Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Lindsey Graham, Bobby Jindal and a few others make me want to puke.... They’re upset that Trump didn’t >>> IMMEDIATELY CORRECT <<< a fellow American that expressed the heart-felt beliefs of many good Americans
THEY WANT TRUMP TO SPEAK-UP AND DEFEND OBAMA AS A CHRISTIAN
So far Trump’s silence on the OBAMA-MUSLIM issue is >>>> BRILLIANT <<<< — I hope he keeps it up — Let the others hang themselves — Almost as BRILLIANT was Trump’s pivot to >>>> “.... The bigger issue is that Obama is waging a war against Christians in this country. Their religious liberty is at stake....”
Here’s a precis of what all the brouhaha is all about – according to Newsmax – “.... Trump is facing criticism from both Republican and Democratic candidates following caustic remarks made by two men about the president that he failed to correct, The Hill reports.... One man in the crowd told Trump, ‘We have a problem in this country — it’s called Muslims.… We know our current president is one. You know he’s not even an American. That’s my question, when can we get rid of them?’... Trump answered back, ‘We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things. A lot of people are saying bad things are happening, [and] we’re going to be looking at that and plenty of other things.’....” Then a second man said, “.... ‘I applaud the gentlemen who stood and said that Obama is a Muslim born abroad.’... ‘Right,’ Trump replied....” (See “Trump Scraps Campaign Trip for 'Significant Business Transaction' ” by Bill Hoffman, 9/18/15, Newsmax/ newsmax.com [http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/trump-cancel-trip-conservative/2015/09/18/id/692274/]).
Since, that occurred at a Trump Q & A last night, there has been weeping and gnashing of teeth among several GOP candidates, like those mentioned in my sub-headline above; Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Martin O’Malley; and to be sure, myriad communities in the main stream media.
I have a simple question about all of that — how is any of that bad for Donald Trump and his campaign ? ? ?
FOR ONCE, TRUMP’S SILENCE IS GOLDEN
So far, Trump’s silence on the questions has everybody more flummoxed than anything that he has said up to now about anything — including Mexicans and Jeb Bush’s half-Mexican family..... So far TRUMP has been brilliant in his silence..... Almost as brilliant was his generally responsive comment that was issued a couple of hours later — the one about Obama's "War on Christianity."Here’s how theBusiness Insider (a representative of the MSM) handled it — “Trump did not correct [what the Business Insider characterized as ‘the blatant falsehood’] that Obama is a Muslim, nor did he address the questioner calling American Muslims ‘a problem.’... Trump released a statement to The Washington Post defending his comments.... ‘The media wants to make this issue about Obama,’ he told the Post. ‘The bigger issue is that Obama is waging a war against Christians in this country. Their religious liberty is at stake.’... His campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, talked to the Post late Thursday night to further defend Trump's answer.... ‘Mr. Trump was asked about training camps,’ Lewandowski said. ‘Mr. Trump answered the question and said, “If there are any, we will fix it.” He said, “I will look into it.” The question was specifically about training camps.’... When asked if Trump believes that Obama is a Muslim, Lewandowski told the Post that he doesn't speak for Trump and that it's ‘up to the media’ if they want to ‘make this about Obama.’...” (See “TRUMP: 'Obama is waging a war against Christians' ” by

RESPONSE: THE “NO, MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, YOU’RE THE ASSHOLE FOR BEING SO TASTELESS AS TO SUGGEST SUCH A THING” EDITION
ReplyDeleteI THINK THAT YOU SHOULD APOLOGIZE — USING YOUR REAL NAME.....
BESIDES, AS DONALD TRUMP SAYS, WHY IS EVERYBODY TRYING TO MAKE THIS ALL ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA — EVERYBODY IS PRETTY CERTAIN WHAT HE IS, WHERE HE’S FROM AND WHAT HE'S BEEN UP TO MOST OF HIS LIFE — EVEN IF THEY DON’T HAVE THE BEST REASONS IN THE WORLD FOR BELIEVING WHAT THEY DO — AND, AFTER ALL, CAN EVERYBODY BE WRONG ?
UPDATE: THE “DID DONALD TRUMP REALLY SAY ANYTHING WRONG ABOUT MUSLIMS ?” EDITION
ReplyDeleteWELL, IT DEPENDS ON WHO IS TELLING THE STORY
WA-PO COMMENTS ON AN INTERESTING EXCHANGE BETWEEN CNN’S ANDERSON COOPER AND DONALD TRUMP’S ANDY DEAN — AND A FEW OTHERS — TO SHOW WHY CONSERVATIVES TRUST PEOPLE LIKE DONALD TRUMP MORE THAN THE PRESS
According to a WaPo article by David Weigel, “It's been nearly 24 hours since Donald Trump declined to admonish a man who ranted about Muslims at his Rochester, N.H., town hall meeting. On cable news, many of those hours have been given over to discussions of what Trump meant, or how other Republicans (like John McCain) have handled similar moments. Some of the most dramatic moments played out on CNN, where Anderson Cooper got into a rare passport-measuring contest with former Trump Productions president Andy Dean.... ‘He said we're going to be looking at that, we're going to be looking at the Muslims in America,’ said Cooper.... ‘That's not accurate at all,’ said Dean. ‘He said we're going to be looking at the potential training camps.’...” (See “Why nobody can agree on what Donald Trump said about Muslims” by David Weigel, 9/18/15, The Washington Post/ The Fix [http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2015/09/18/why-nobody-can-agree-on-what-donald-trump-said-about-muslims/]). Then there was some kind of discussion by the participants in that discussion about whose was bigger..... Or, as the WaPo folks said, “.... The conversation deteriorated from there....”
Bottom line, here’s what the Weigel-Washington Post article was getting at: “.... Not for the first time, a national slapfight has broken out over what Donald Trump said, and the slapfighters cannot agree what it was [ ]. ‘Watch Trump's appalling response as a supporter calls to “get rid” of all Muslims," wrote Vox's Max Fisher. ‘Trump Under Fire for How He Handles Man Who Says Muslims Are “Problem,” ’ wrote the Blaze's Oliver Darcy. The truth is closer to Darcy's take -- and the controversy demonstrates, for the umpteenth time, why conservatives trust people like Trump more than they trust the press....”
The subtle racism of silence.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "LOOKOUT FOR SNIPING FROM HIDDEN LAIRS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTHE COMMENT ABOVE IS ESPECIALLY OBNOXIOUS AND ODIOUS
IT IS SUFFICIENTLY VAGUE TO AVOID DIRECT REJOINDER, BUT IT INVOKES SHIBBOLETHS THAT LIBERALS AND RADICALS LIKE TO USE TO SILENCE CONSERVATIVES
Normally something like the piece crap comment above by "Anonymous said... 8:23 AM" are quickly relegated to the dustbin without comment -- however, I thought a little response to this one was appropriate.
BTW, a little of what liberals and their ilk like to call "racism" is a small price to pay for the survival of a nation; with larger doses for prosperity and even more for excellence, on an "as needed" basis.
When people insult Trumps hair I dont hear any democrats defending him.
ReplyDeleteCOMMENTARY: THE “WHAT WILL THE POLLS SAY ABOUT TRUMP’S OBAMA-MUSLIM SITUATION ?” EDITION
ReplyDeleteSO FAR THERE ARE NO REPORTS OF ANY TRACKING POLLS, WHICH MIGHT BE USEFUL IN DIRECTLY EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF DONALD TRUMP’S CHOOSING NOT TO ADMONISH HIS FIRST QUESTIONER IN A NEW HAMPSHIRE EVENT ON THURSDAY NIGHT — YOU KNOW, THE ONE WHO BROUGHT UP THIS COUNTRY’S “MUSLIM PROBLEM” AND WHO SAID HE THOUGHT THAT OBAMA WAS ONE
COMPARING POLLS MIGHT BE THE ONLY PARAMETER OR METRIC TO TRY TO FIGURE THIS OUT — A POLL RELEASED ON FRIDAY SHOWED TRUMP INCREASING HIS LEAD TO 36%
According to a Friday report on the Breitbart News site, “A Morning Consult poll, released Friday, surveyed 504 registered voters who watched Wednesday’s Republican primary debate and has only good news for Republican frontrunner Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina. While the poll’s sample size is small (with a 4.4% margin of error), the poll’s trend is worth noting.... In this same poll, prior to Wednesday night’s debate, Trump sat at 33% support. Dr. Ben Carson sat in second place with 17% support. Today Trump enjoys 36% support. Carson is still in second place but with just 12% support.... Trump’s lead increased from +16 points to +24%. That’s an +8% jump.... With their shared status as outsiders, it appears as though Carson’s support went to Fiorina. Prior to the debate the former-Hewlett Packard CEO had just 3% support. She now sits in third place with 10%, only -2 points behind second place Carson.... (See “POST-DEBATE POLL: TRUMP INCREASES LEAD; FIORINA LEAPS, CARSON SINKS” by John Nolte, 9/18/15 [http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/09/18/post-debate-poll-trump-increases-lead-fiorina-leaps-carson-drops/]).
Polls around September First indicated that about 2/3 of Trump supporters believed that President Obama is a Muslim, so one tends to doubt that this flap will have any negative effect on Trump’s lead.
So let’s see what happens next.
UPDATE: THE “DONALD TRUMP MAINTAINS HIS BIG LEAD IN THE POLLS” EDITION
ReplyDeleteEVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A SLIGHT DEGREE OF SLIPPAGE – PROBABLY DUE TO HIS DEBATE PERFORMANCE RELATIVE TO A COUPLE OF OTHER CANDIDATES – TRUMP AND HIS CAMPAIGN CONTINUE TO EMPHASIZE HIS HUGE LEAD OVER OTHER CANDIDATES IN THE CURRENT POLLS
Breitbart News is reporting that “.... Chuck Todd said on NBC’s Meet the Press, ‘Trump laps the field at 29%, more than double of Ben Carson, and here comes Carly Fiorina moving into third place into double digits at 11% followed by Jeb Bush, Sen. Ted Cruz [ ], and Marco Rubio.’... In a statement to Breitbart News, Trump declared that these polls prove he was the clear winner of the CNN debate this week. ‘According to the latest NBC News poll, I continue to dominate the field by a wide margin and was a definitive winner of Wednesday night’s debate,’ Trump said. ‘This movement is only growing. Voters are energized and excited about real leadership that will fix the problems we face and get things done unlike the all talk, no action politicians that have failed us for far too long.... Of the new polls, Donald Trump’s campaign said to Breitbart News, ‘Both polls reinforce that Mr. Trump is the leader in the race by a wide margin and won the debate. Other candidates will rise and fall depending on individual performance, but Mr. Trump is solidifying his substantial lead.’...” (See “ ‘TRUMP LAPS THE FIELD': UP BIG IN TWO POLLS… EXCLUSIVE — TRUMP: ‘THIS MOVEMENT IS ONLY GROWING’ ” by Breitbart News Staff, 9/20/15, Breitbart News

Based on the commentary, any slippage in Trump’s polling is most likely attributable to the relative performances at the CNN debate.
