What all those opposed to Trump missed is that a huge chunk of America and the Republican Party probably loved what Donald Trump did to Jorge Ramos of Univision at Trump's Tuesday press conference
Last night, Megyn Kelly was all love and lolly pops during her interview with Univision’s Jorge Ramos — She didn’t even confront him when he mis-characterized what happened at Donald Trump's news conference — Look for the blogs to back Trump and bash Fox News
A Google search for “Donald Trump News” at around midnight EDT Wednesday-into-Thursday would have showed you how one-sided the coverage of the Donald Trump-Jorge Ramos press conference flap really is. In particular, please note the following:

FOX NEWS AND MEGYN KELLY DO THEIR “FAIR AND BALANCED” NUMBER ON THE TRUMPSTER — SHE DID AN INTERVIEW WITH JORGE RAMOS AS IF HE WERE A REAL NEWSMAN WORKING FOR A REAL NEWS ORGANIZATION — AND SHE SAID THAT MAKING THE SPEECHES LIKE HE WAS DOING AT TRUMPS NEWS CONFERENCE WAS A COMMON PRACTICE FOR NEWS PEOPLE
By tomorrow morning, the conservative and further right-wing blogs will all be flipped-out about Megyn Kelly’s interview with Jorge Ramos of Univision. Already, I’ve seen several describing Ms. Kelly’s questioning as “cream puff” and “Pattycake,” and the questions to Jorge Ramos as “soft balls.”As someone who saw the segment, I completely agree. Furthermore, she did nothing to correct Mr. Ramos’ distorted description of what went on between Mr. Trump and him. Also, I think Kelly again showed that she likes getting a few quick kidney punches in on “The Donald” when she can get away with it — for example, she volunteered that many newsmen often jump into the questioning the way that Ramos did. Only later in her program with other guests like Ann Coulter and Dana Perino did Megyn Kelly allow that Jorge Ramos was using the Trump presser as a soapbox for Univision’s Pro-Illegals position on the whole issue of Illegal Immigration.
EVERYBODY SEEMS TO HAVE MISSED THE NEWS — LOTS OF PEOPLE LIKE TRUMP AND HIS POLITICAL STAR CONTINUES TO RISE
According to a report appearing in the Breitbart News, Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner, hit the 40 percent marker in a recent poll. According to the Breitbart report, this is the first time a candidate has reached above the 30 percent mark (See “POLL: DONALD TRUMP SETS RECORD, HITS 40 PERCENT IN NEW POLL” by Alex Swoyer, 8/26/15, Breitbart News[http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/08/26/poll-donald-trump-sets-record-hits-40-percent-in-new-poll/]).
Breitbart gave these details about the poll: “.... The [Gravis Marketing] poll surveyed 3,567 voters randomly across the United States. It had a margin of error of plus or minus two percent and was conducted August 21-22. Since the previous survey done by Gravis Marketing on July 31, Trump increased almost 10 points. Dr. Ben Carson increased 7 points and was named the winner in a Post GOP Debate Poll.... Trump, Carson, and Fiorina three of the top five GOP presidential candidates, have never held office....”
FOX NEWS has zero objectivity when it comes to Trump. let them say all they want about Megyn Kelly's "professionalism," but she she giggles her way through "serious" news and is completely full of herself and her own opinions.
ReplyDeleteEverybody at FOX is doing what Murdoch says. Murdoch hates Trump and it probably has nothing to do with Donald Trump's run for the presidency.
Just saw Al D'amato endorsed Kasich.
ReplyDeleteI guess that Pataki magic wore off.
UPDATE & COMMENTARY: THE “TRUMP – VERSUS MEGYN KELLY – VERSUS FOX NEWS – VERSUS RUPERT MURDOCH” EDITION
ReplyDeleteTRUMPS’ GOING AFTER MEGYN KELLY WAS NEITHER EMOTIVE NOR EMOTIONAL — IT WAS/IS STRATEGIC HIGH-LEVEL POLITICAL-MEDIA WARFARE — AND HIS ULTIMATE TARGET ISN’T MEGYN KELLY – OR EVEN FOX NEWS – IT IS RUPERT MURDOCH
MEGYN KELLY WAS/IS THE FOX POINT-PERSON AGAINST TRUMP — AILES WAS/IS IN ON THAT AS THE HEAD OF FOX NEWS — MEGYN KELLY AND ROGER AILES BOTH HAVE TO TOE THE LINE OF & FOR RUPERT MURDOCH
THERE IS NOTHING “FAIR AND BALANCED” OR JOURNALISTIC AND PROFESSIONAL ABOUT WHAT MEGYN KELLY, ROGER AILES AND RUPERT MURDOCH HAVE DONE AND INTEND TO DO WITH DONALD TRUMP
HOW DO YOU THINK TRUMP WILL RESPOND ? ? ? WELL, JUST ASK MEGYN KELLY
“And the beat goes on — lah-di-dah-di-dah....”
Why did “The Donald” go back at Megyn Kelly ?
Breitbart News gave a little insight into that yesterday. According to the folks at Breitbart, “2016 GOP frontrunner and billionaire Donald Trump already won his war with the Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly.... She’s exposed as having a point of view, rather than being a purely impartial arbiter of news. Now he’s just having fun as a larger war between him and the network’s powers-that-be looms.... In exposing Kelly, he’s employed at least parts of an unwritten playbook for political warfare his former, longtime aide – legendary GOP trickster Roger Stone – has laid out mostly informally over the years called “Stone’s Rules.” Stone hasn’t actually published the “Rules” anywhere, though some appear littered throughout his Twitter account and in a profile that the Weekly Standard’s Matt Labash wrote of him in 2007....” (See “MEGYN KELLY: THE FIRST CASUALTY IN DONALD TRUMP’S ‘ASYMMETRIC’ WAR ON FOX NEWS” by Matthew Boyle, 8/28/15, Breitbart News/ Big Journalism
[http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2015/08/28/megyn-kelly-the-first-casualty-in-donald-trumps-asymmetric-war-on-fox-news/]).
The lengthy and detailed article by Matthew Boyle completely exposes the way Megyn Kelly had been going after Donald Trump with “hit” material even before their famed debate confrontation. It also details how Mr. Trump took Kelly apart as an “objective” – “journalist.” The kicker is that Boyle showed how even Fox referred to Megyn Kelly as one of its “TALENTS”.... So much for "professional" and "journalistic" -- she is one of Rupert's cutey-pie "readers."
The Breitbart article only scratches the surface of the Donald Trump war with Fox News. As my headlines above in this comment state, it is a bigger and more strategic war than that. For more on all of this, keep your eyes open for a longer post by me coming up before Labor Day.
Kelly was gunning for Trump before the debate and Chris Matthews on MSNBC was predicting that there was going to be a Donald Trump-Megyyn Kelly blow-up at the debate a week before it happened.
ReplyDeleteKelly has a pretty but smarmy approach to cornering guests. She's one nasty piece of work and Trump needs to smack her down good and stake her out onto an ant hill.
UPDATE: THE “MAIN STREAM MEDIA RUNS WITH TRUMP’S REMARKS ABOUT HUMA AND HER HUSBAND, ANTHONY WEINER” EDITION

CLINTON CAMPAIGN PATHETICALLY RESPONDS THROUGH SPOKESPERSONS — NICK MERRILL SAYS IT’S “EMBARRASSING...”
OTHER WIDELY READ ARTICLES OFFER MORE COMPLETE VERSIONS OF TRUMP'S QUOTES THAN POLITICO'S
Here’s how Politico began its coverage of this story: “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump alleged late Friday that Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin shared classified information with husband Anthony Weiner, while also referring to the former congressman as a pervert....
‘Huma is one of the people it all came through,’ he said, referring to the classified email investigation that has dogged Clinton's campaign for the Democratic nomination. ‘Who is Huma married to? One of the great sleezebags of our time: Anthony Weiner.’... ‘So now — think of it — Huma is getting classified secrets. She is married to Anthony Weiner, who is a perv,’ Trump said during a campaign rally in Norwood, Massachusetts. ‘Now these are confidential documents and guess what happens to Anthony Weiner. A month ago he went to work for a public relations firm.’... ‘So she's married to Anthony Weiner. Do you think there is even a 5 percent chance she is not telling Anthony Weiner — now of a public relations firm — what the hell is coming across?’ Trump said....” (See “Trump slams Clinton aide Huma Abedin, husband Anthony Weiner” by Jennifer Shutt, 8/29/15, Politico [http://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/donald-trump-anthony-weiner-pervert-2016-election-213158]).
CLINTON CAMPAIGN’S PATHETIC ATTEMPTED REBUTTALS
Politico included some of the Clinton campaign’s views about what Donald Trump had sid about Huma Abedin and her husband, Anthony Weiner. Here it is: “Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill called Trump's comments about Abedin and her marriage ‘patently false.’... ‘He should be ashamed of himself, and others in his own party should take a moment to stand up to him and draw the line once. It's embarrassing to watch frankly,’ he said in a tweet.... During a rally in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday, Trump repeated his criticism of Abedin and Weiner, which brought a rebuke from Hillary for America Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri.
‘Trump repeated bizarre attack on Huma today. Lots of married men worked at State, why is Huma the one who would pass on secrets to spouse?’ she wrote....”
OTHER MEDIA
Trump’s remarks and some of the Clinton team responses received similar treatment by other mainstream news operations (See e.g., “Trump says Clinton aide shared classified info with her husband, Anthony Weiner” by Jessica Estepa, 8/29/15, USA Today [http://onpolitics.usatoday.com/2015/08/29/trump-says-clinton-aide-shared-classified-info-with-her-husband-anthony-weiner/]; see also “Trump rips Clinton aide Abedin and ‘perv’ husband Weiner” by Elliot Smilowitz, 8/28/15, The Hill [http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/252238-trump-rips-clinton-aide-huma-abedin-and-perv-husband-anthony]).
Both Trump’s remarks and Nick Merrill’s response were more completely quoted in the USA Today and “The Hill” articles cited above. And the article from “The Hill” was denoted “Highly Cited” by Google.
