FLASH UPDATE: THE "HUMA ABEDIN BREAKS BACK INTO THE HEADLINES” EDITION

E-MAILS BY HILLARY CLINTON AIDES  >>>  HUMA ABEDIN AND JAKE SULLIVAN  <<<  TRIGGERED FBI PROBE

IS THE SECURITY LAPSE ASPECT OF THE E-MAILS SCANDAL BEING STEERED TOWARD HUMA ? ? ?

According to reports in Newsmax and other sources, FOX NEWS has reported that,  “....  [E-] mails from Clinton adviser Huma Abedin and aide Jake Sullivan passed through Clinton's private email server. The messages were about military intelligence information a year before the 2012 Benghazi attack, and about the aftermath of the Benghazi attack....  Fox News reports that it confirmed via the intelligence community inspector general the material in the emails was classified when it was sent....” (See “Report: Email by Hillary Aide Huma Abedin Triggered FBI Inquiry” by Jason Devaney, 8/19/15, Newsmax [http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/huma-abedin-hillary-emails-fbi/2015/08/19/id/670827/]). The original scoop on this story, belongs to Catherine Herridge at FOX News (See “Classified emails from Clinton aides kick-started FBI probe, candidate downplays controversy” by Catherine Herridge, 8/19/15, Fox New/ FoxNews.com [http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/08/19/sensitive-emails-from-clinton-aides-kick-started-fbi-probe-candidate-downplays/]).

THE NEWSMAX REPORT

The Devaney-Newmax article says that the  “[t]wo emails containing classified information from two people in Hillary Clinton's inner circle jump-started the FBI investigation into her use of a private email setup during her time as secretary of state, according to a new report....  Fox News reports that it confirmed via the intelligence community inspector general the material in the emails was classified when it was sent....  Both Abedin and Sullivan are working on Clinton's presidential campaign....”

At this point, it might be fair to ask if the security breach part of this investigation concerning Hillary Clinton’s E-mails might legitimately laid at the door of Huma Abedin, the very close personal aide to Hillary Clinton.  Or, alternatively, one could ask whether this investigation is being steered by somebody in the direction of Huma.

THE FOX NEWS REPORT

According to the Herridge-Fox News report, “An email from a top Clinton adviser containing classified military intelligence information, and one from a top aide containing classified information about the Benghazi terror attack, were the documents that kick-started the FBI investigation into the mishandling of classified information, Fox News has learned....  The emails, among thousands on Hillary Clinton's personal server, were released to the Benghazi select committee in May and have been widely discussed but Fox News for the first time has identified which Clinton aides sent them and the subject matter....  The revelation came as the Democratic presidential candidate and former secretary of state tried to brush aside the burgeoning scandal....”

The Fox report goes on to state this: “....   Fox News has identified two of the Benghazi-related emails on the server that were deemed to contain classified information at the time they were sent....   The first was forwarded by Clinton adviser Huma Abedin and contained classified material from military intelligence sources. The 2011 email forwards a warning about how then-Ambassador Chris Stevens was "considering departure from Benghazi" amid deteriorating conditions in a nearby city. The email was mistakenly released by the State Department in full, and is now considered declassified....  The second was sent by Clinton aide Jake Sullivan and contained classified information as well as sensitive law enforcement information on Benghazi. The partly redacted November 2012 email detailed how Libyan police had arrested "several people" with potential connections to the terror attack....   Abedin and Sullivan now work for the Clinton presidential campaign. A spokeswoman for the intelligence community inspector general confirmed to Fox News that the information was classified at the time it was sent....”

FOX REPORT ALSO INCLUDES THE CLINTON TEAM PUSH-BACK

Part of the Catherine Herridge feature is the following:  “....Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon says the information was not classified at the time the emails were sent. In maintaining this position, the campaign pointed to the fact that the State Department shared this judgment, as the Abedin email was released in full by the State Department on its FOIA website. The campaign spokesman acknowledged there is disagreement with the intelligence community inspector general...  A State Department spokesman said they shared Fallon's stance....  The emails are now just a fraction of those under review by the intelligence community. On Tuesday, while Clinton joked about her server's apparently missing contents, Fox News has learned the FBI is aggressively trying to recover the data....”

  1. Huma Abedin has been suspect for a long time as an agent of influence for the Muslim Brotherhood, which is an organization that is completely entangled with Huma Abedin's own family, father and mother and brother and others. Now, here is proof that Abedin gave away secrets to terrorists across North Africa, and both Hillary Clinton and the U.S. State Department are still trying to cover it up.

  2. UPDATE: THE "WHERE IS CAPTAIN QUEEG NOW THAT WE NEED HIM" EDITION

BLACKBERRYs, BLACKBERRYs --- WHERE ARE THE BLACKBERRYs ? ? ?

HUMA ABEDIN'S AND CHERYL MILLS' BLACKBERRYs WERE COLLECTED BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT, BUT THEY CAN'T BE FOUND & PROBABLY WERE DESTROYED

MORE IMPORTANT --- THE STATE DEPARTMENT REITERATES THAT IT NEVER ISSUED SUCH DEVICES TO HILLARY CLINTON

WHERE ARE HILLARY CLINTON'S HAND-HELD COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES --- WHAT WERE THE SECURITY PARAMETERS ON THE USE OF HER HANDHELD COMMUNICATORS --- CAN THE DATA BE RECOVERED FROM THE HAND-HELD SERVICES PROVIDER ? ? ?

According to a report in Newsmax, "BlackBerrys belonging to top Hillary Clinton aides Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills were returned to the State Department, but likely have been destroyed, The Hill reports.... Abedin and Mills continued their employment with Clinton during her four years as secretary of state during President Barack Obama's first term. They were given government-issued BlackBerrys and turned them in at the end of their service, State Department Executive Secretary Joseph Macmanus wrote in a court filing on Wednesday...." (See "Report: BlackBerrys Belonging to Key Clinton Aides Likely Destroyed" by Newsmax Wires, 8/19/15, Newsmax [http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/abedin-mills-blackberrys-destroyed/2015/08/19/id/670904/]).

Equally important, the Newsmax report also said that "The [State Department filing in Federal Court] also reiterated the department's previous statement that Clinton did not use a government-issued device while serving as secretary.... The State Department 'does not believe that any personal computing device was issued by the department to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and has not located any such device at the department,' Macmanus wrote in the filing...."

The questions now arising are what happened to HRC's hand-held devices, who provided her hand-held devices service, what security protocols were involved and is this information recoverable from the provider of services ? ? ?

  3. UPDATE: THE “HERE COME DUH JUDGE ! -- HERE COME DUH JUDGE ! – HERE COME DUH JUDGE !” EDITION

U.S. DISTRICT JUDGE EMMET SULLIVAN SAYS HILLARY CLINTON’S USE OF PRIVATE E-MAIL SYSTEM VIOLATED GOVERNMENT POLICY

JUDGE SWATS ASIDE STATE DEPARTMENT’S OBSTRUCTIVE POSITION IN FOIA CASE — ALSO NOTABLE THE FEDERAL JUDGE APPEARED TO REJECT OUT OF HAND: A– THE STATE DEPARTMENT’S ARGUMENT THAT A FOIA REQUEST COULD NOT REACH A GOVERNMENT OFFICER’S PRIVATE ACCOUNTS; AND B – THAT THE STATE DEPARTMENT SHOULD NOT BOTHER THE FBI DURING ITS INVESTIGATION OF CLINTON’S E-MAILS AND SERVER

According to reports from multiple news and media sources, at a hearing on Thursday, Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan said that as a government employee, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton violated government policy by using her own private E-mail system for her government communications.

For example, Josh Gerstein in “Politico” put it this way: “A federal judge has added fresh fuel to the incendiary controversy over Hillary Clinton’s email, asserting during a hearing Thursday that she violated government policy by storing official messages on a private server when she worked as secretary of state.... ‘We wouldn’t be here today if this employee had followed government policy,’ said U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan, apparently referring to Clinton, during a hearing on one of the many Freedom of Information Act lawsuits seeking access to her records as secretary of state....” (See e.g., “Judge says Hillary Clinton's private emails violated policy” by Josh Gerstein, 8/20/15, Politico/ [http://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/judge-says-hillary-clintons-private-emails-violated-policy-121568.html]).

The Gerstein-Politico article went on to say, “.... Sullivan’s said Clinton’s actions had complicated the State Department’s ability to respond to requests for records on various topics. He also ordered the State Department to contact the FBI to determine whether the private server Clinton used, which Clinton turned over to that law enforcement agency earlier this month, contains official records possibly responsive to the FOIA suit [before him]....”

OVERALL “PRIVACY” ARGUMENT APPEARS TO BE COMPLETELY REJECTED BY THE COURT
Of particular note in the Politico article — on the overall issue of access to ALL of Hillary Clinton’s E-mails was this: “.... After Justice Department lawyer Peter Wechsler argued that the open records law normally doesn’t allow for searches of government officials’ private accounts, the judge said he viewed it as an unusual situation because ‘there was a violation of government policy.’... ‘We’re not talking about a search of anyone’s random email,’ Sullivan added.....”

ADDITIONAL COVERAGE OF JUDGE EMMET SULLIVAN’S COMMENTS ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON’S E-MAILS AT HEARING IN HIS COURTROOM
There was a somewhat different overview regarding this story that appeared in the Washington Times. According to Stephen Dinan at “The Washington Times” — “A federal judge said Thursday that former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s unique email arrangement violated government policy and prodded the [State Department] to talk with the FBI to determine what documents can be recovered from the computer server and flash drives used to store her emails.... Judge Emmet G. Sullivan was surprised that the State Department hadn’t made that request and poked at the administration’s claim that the FBI needed to be left alone to conduct its investigation. He gave the agencies 30 days to figure out whether emails can be recovered....” ( See “Court says Hillary Clinton emails broke ‘government policy’ ” by Stephen Dinan, 8/20/15, The Washington Times
