FLASH UPDATE: THE " 'ORWELLIAN CLINTON' EMERGES BECAUSE OF NY TIMES REPORT" EDITION

HILLARY CLINTON'S FOLKS HAVE OBVIOUSLY GONE  "FULL GORILLA" TO 'MEMORY HOLE" ANYTHING ABOUT A POSSIBLE "CRIMINAL PROBE" BY THE DOJ INTO ANY MISHANDLING OF "CLASSIFIED INFORMATION"  CONTAINED IN THE NOW-INFAMOUS HILLARY E-MAILS BY FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE CLINTON

STORY CHANGING ALMOST MINUTE BY MINUTE AS HILLARY'S PEEPS ARE FIGHTING HARD  TO GET THE TOOTHPASTE BACK IN THE TUBE

EVEN THE DOJ HAS BEEN FORCED TO RETRACT ITS ORIGINAL STATEMENT ABOUT THE "CRIMINAL REFERRAL" RELATED TO THE HILLARY CLINTON'S E-MAILS

According to Newsmax, "Attorney General Loretta Lynch's Justice Department has been asked by two inspectors general to launch a probe of Hillary Clinton's handling of classified government information while using a private email account while she was secretary of state....   The New York Times, which was the first to report the development, cited unnamed sources saying that the request was criminal in nature....
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that a Justice Department official initially confirmed that a criminal investigation had been requested, but later reversed its position without comment....   "The department has received a referral related to the potential compromise of classified information. It is not a criminal referral," said an official....   Inspectors general for the State Department and  Office of the Director of National Intelligence are seeking the investigation after writing two memos on the subject to Patrick F. Kennedy, the under secretary of state for management, copies of which the Times said were provided to it.... The conclusion of the memos was that Clinton's private email account had "hundreds of potentially classified emails," Fox News reported....   The inspectors general said that at least one email that had been made public by the State Department contained sensitive information, according to Fox News...."  (See "Justice Dept Backs Off Criminal Probe Over Hillary's Classified Emails" by Melanie Batley, 7/24/15,  Newmax [with multiple  internal links to original sources] [http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/hillary-clinton-email-criminal/2015/07/23/id/658674/]).

  1. UPDATE: THE "OTHER NEWS SOURCES ARE ZERO-ING IN ON HILLARY CLINTON'S PROBLEMS WITH CLASSIFIED MATERIAL ON HER E-MAIL" EDITION

CNN QUOTES INSPECTOR GENERAL FOR INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES --- SAYS FOUR OR HILLARIES E-MAILS OF A SMALL SAMPLE WERE NOT PROPERLY CLASSIFIED OF HANDLED PROPERLY --- OTHERS SAY HUNDREDS OF CLASSIFIED MATTERS WERE IN HILLARY'S UNSECURED E-MAILS

According to a CNN report late today, "The inspector general for the intelligence community has informed members of Congress that some material Hillary Clinton emailed from her private server contained classified information, but it was not identified that way.... The IG reviewed a 'limited sampling' of her emails and among those 40 reviewed found that 'four contained classified [intelligence community] information,' wrote the IG Charles McCullough in a letter to Congress.... McCullough noted that 'none of the emails we reviewed had classification or dissemination markings' but that some 'should have been handled as classified, appropriately marked, and transmitted via a secure network.'... The four emails in question 'were classified when they were sent and are classified now,' spokeswoman Andrea Williams told CNN.... McCullough said that State Department Freedom of Information Act officials told the intelligence community IG that 'there are potentially hundreds of classified emails within the approximately 30,000 provided by former Secretary Clinton.'..." 2. UPDATE: THE "DICK MORRIS LOVES KICKING HILLARY AROUND" EDITION

FORMER TOP BILL CLINTON ADVISOR SAYS --- "NOW SHE'S CAUGHT" --- "HILLARY'S IN REAL TROUBLE NOW"

In an early Friday evening article for Newsmax, Dick Morris said this: "To the average American, the crimes of murder and rape are the most serious but to the intelligence community, it is misuse of classified materials and information. The very existence of the Intel operation demands secrecy and they do not look kindly on violations.... Hillary was an idiot for keeping her own server and email account not because it would look bad or cost her votes but because, as secretary of state, she knew that a very large proportion of the emails she sent and received must, perforce, have contained classified information. To use her personal server for her email correspondence was to gamble her entire career on a proper filing system that distinguished classified from other material.... Now, she's caught the inspectors general at the State Department have found four emails that contained classified material, although they were not marked as such. Four she might get away with but the four were from a group of 40 the IG investigated. That leaves only 29,960 more to go...." (See "Hillary's in Real Trouble Now" by Dick Maorris, 7/24/15, Newsmax [http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Dick-Morris-emails/2015/07/24/id/658818/]).
This was how Morris described the trouble that the former Obama of State is now in: "... [W]hat is different about this scandal is that it can become criminal in a heartbeat. Initially, the Justice Department incorrectly reported that the referral from the two inspectors general was criminal in nature. Then the department backtracked and said it was not.... But the underlying facts are potentially criminal and there is only a limited number of times that a secretary of state can plead ignorance about the classification status of a document...."

  8. BACKFILL: THE "OTHER MANIFESTATIONS OF THE 'ORWELLIAN CLINTON' -- THE TORTURED LOGIC OF HER SUPPORTERS" EDITION

BARNEY FRANK SAYS THAT VERY PROGRESSIVE AND LIBERAL DEMOCRATS NEED TO SUPPORT HILLARY CLINTON EARLY IN THE PROCESS -- NOT BECAUSE SHE IS RELIABLY PROGRESSIVE AND LIBERAL, AND DOESN'T NEED TESTING BY SOMEBODY LIKE BERNIE SANDERS -- BUT BECAUSE SOMEBODY STAUNCHLY PROGRESSIVE AND LIBERAL, LIKE BERNIE SANDERS, WILL NEVER BE ELECTED PRESIDENT AND SHOULDN'T GET THE SUPPORT THAT HILLARY CLINTON NEEDS NOW IN THE EARLY-GOING CAMPAIGN

FURTHERMORE, IF HILLARY CLINTON ISN'T ELECTED, AND SHE IS THE ONLY DEMOCRAT THAT STANDS A CHANCE, ALL OF THE ADVANCES MADE ON MYRIAD PROGRESSIVE AND LIBERAL FRONTS UNDER PRESIDENT OBAMA WILL BE LOST IN A REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION WITH A REPUBLICAN CONGRESS

Former Congressman Barney Frank did a very strong pro-Hillary -- anti-Sanders piece for Politico. Next time, they should try Barney Fife, he might make more sense.

According to former Congressman Frank, "I believe strongly that the most effective thing liberals and progressives can do to advance our public policy goals — on health care, immigration, financial regulation, reducing income inequality, completing the fight against anti-LGBT discrimination, protecting women’s autonomy in choices about reproduction and other critical matters on which the Democratic and Republican candidates for president will be sharply divided — is to help Clinton win our nomination early in the year. That way, she can focus on what we know will be a tough job: combating the flood of post-Citizens United right-wing money, in an atmosphere in which public skepticism about the effectiveness of public policy is high....

Of course it is not only possible to accept the legitimacy of Clinton’s liberal-progressive credentials and still prefer that Sanders be president, it makes sense for the most ideologically committed to hold that view. But wishful thinking is no way to win the presidency. There is not only no chance — perhaps regrettably — for Sanders to win a national election. A long primary campaign will only erode the benefit Democrats are now poised to reap from the Republicans’ free-for-all...." (See "Why Progressives Shouldn’t Support Bernie -- Wishful thinking won’t win the White House" by Barney Frank, 7/22/15, Politico [http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/07/why-progressives-shouldnt-support-bernie-120484.html?ml=po#.VbRyUbNVikp]).

Frank concluded his arguments with this: "... [Bernie Sanders'] very unwillingness to be confined by existing voter attitudes, as part of a long-term strategy to change them, is both a very valuable contribution to the democratic dialogue and an obvious bar to winning support from the majority of these very voters in the near term."

Such arguments make almost no sense to me whatsoever, and I'm not progressive or liberal in any way. How they might move somebody who truly holds progressive and/or liberal beliefs is beyond me. However, that Frank is making the argument, by itself, doesn't show the power and the reach of the "Orwellian Clinton." However, the uncritical acceptance of Barney Frank's thesis in the usually reliably progressive and liberal internet magazine, Salon, does show the "OC" at its full strength and glory (See "Barney Frank unloads on pro-Sanders progressives: Says they’re only helping GOP win" by Sophia Tesfaye, 7/24/15, Salon [http://www.salon.com/2015/07/23/barney_frank_unloads_on_pro_sanders_progressives_says_theyre_only_helping_gop_win/]).
