One of the most corrupted petit local corrupters active in the Brooklyn GOP was virtually alone last night — Gene Berardelli had to go “on air” before his own little world of “radio” listeners without his sidekick, Russell Gallo

I don’t know what Russell Gallo’s case of the vapors might have been all about [but you can see my guesses below]  —  Gene was quite vague and contradictory as to what was going on with Russ that was keeping him off the show   —   and no factual determination can be made about it

Suffice it to say, Russell’s absence was very convenient  —  it allowed Mr. Berardelli to play a very subtle game with Amanda Kohut in the role of Gene’s ready, willing and able foil    As it worked out, her skill set was far superior to Mr. Gallo’s for the role that needed to be played by the occupant of the Gallo seat

The during the first thirteen or fourteen minutes of the “Behind Enemy Lines” blog-radio podcast, Gene did his smarmy best to do factual background and paint a word picture whose outlines were so vague and details so indistinct that, had Mr. Berardelli not repeatedly uttered the name “Duggar”; “Josh Duggar”;  and/or mention of the “Duggar family,” one might easily have confused what Gene was talking about with something far more local.... (See “ICYMI - America: Stop Suing Everyone!”  posted by Gene Berardelli [with a link to the podcast], 5/28/15,  “Behind Enemy Lines”/ We Are America Radio /WNJC 1360 AM
[http://www.behindenemylinesradio.us/2015/05/icymi-america-stop-suing-everyone.html]).

THE DUGGAR SCANDAL IS IN SOME WAYS ANALOGOUS TO THE HAYON MESS

Given what has gone on this week involving Berardelli and Gallo, and the scandal of Joseph Hayon and the Brooklyn GOP, one can only wonder what happened to Mr. Gallo, and what Berardelli was up to with his “teachable moment” about a family-full of Duggars on his program.

Personally, I think it was an attempt at a slick argument being made in the form of an unstated analogy to the Hayon arrest, what might have gone on before with Hayon and what Gene wants to call "due diligence." (BTW, round two about what might have gone on BEFORE  in l'affaire d'Hayon could lead to a very interesting discussion for another day.  [I just love this job.])

WHERE WAS GALLO ?   WHY WAS HE (NOT) THERE ?

The last minute scratch of Gallo was announced at the opening of the show by Berardelli, who suggested that there was some kind of breakdown by his sidekick, with a mention of heavy drinking in some nearby bar. Later on in the program, Gene said that Russell was “working” (and who knows what he meant when he said that [but I have some ideas]); and both early and late in the program, Berardelli indicated that Gallo was not in his usual chair because he needed a “therapy day.”  For reasons that will be more obvious below, I don’t think Russell Gallo’s non-appearance on this week’s “Behind Enemy Lines” show was any kind of breakdown or accident.

As I stated above, Berardelli’s factual background and word picture in the first segment of last night’s show were so vague and indistinct that one could easily have confused Berardelli’s description of the Duggar scandal with the one in Brooklyn, involving Joseph Hayon and so many other activists in the Brooklyn GOP, including Berardelli and Gallo themselves.  However, that vagueness and lack of differentiation between the two matters was only a result  —  more accurately, it was part and parcel of a product.  That product was composed, orchestrated and produced by Berardelli himself, with the able and necessary assistance of Ms. Kohut.

I’ve listened to that thirteen or so minutes of podcast several times.  It is completely contrived and obviously synthetic ( as opposed to natural and spontaneous). In fact, it sounded like an over-rehearsed direct examination of a novice expert witness conducted by a novice attorney.  It was most obvious at the beginning, before Berardelli revealed that he was really talking about the Duggars. Clearly up to that point, Berardelli and Kohut wanted everybody to think they were going to talk about Hayon (if you were around Brooklyn this week and read this blog or Gene's, you'd know what I mean).  Early on, Ms. Kohut even feigned not being on top of the news  –  but later on she showed that she was completely familiar with the details of the Duggar case, and even some of the scenarios involving others in the Duggar family.

One can only guess why Gene did hthe thirteen minute segment the way that he did; or what he hoped to accomplish by it.  However, everybody who hears how Kohut handles her part of the segment would know that – Gallo’s down and dirty style “on air” would never have been able to carry it off the way that Amanda did.

Who knows, maybe Gallo was replaced right after a dress rehearsal.  And he went off to do his best John Barrymore, with his show going on at some local pub (hence “working” by not being “on air” –  or taking a therapy day over some Jack Daniels at a convenient local).

SOME BACKGROUND, A CONJECTURE AND A LITTLE MORE BACKGROUND

This morning I was told by two Brooklyn GOP operatives, not hooked up with Russell and Gene, that the operatives were contacting or had contacted Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton to AGAIN ride heard on the Brooklyn GOP’s Leopold and Loeb team – before they killed again.  Maybe (wink-wink, nod), that’s why Gallo had his case of the vapors; and why Gene could only deal with the Hayon scandal by analogy.

Sure it seems strange, I'll give you that; but that’s the way things work inside the Brooklyn GOP – –  sometimes (wink-wink, nod).

  1. I'm an Eaton supporter and I agree: Berardelli and Gallo have embarrassed us enough. Time for them to move on.

  2. Gale, you're amazing. Russ WASN'T on the show and Gene DIDN'T talk about Hayon and now that is worthy of a post? Didn't you say that you wished they would stop? And didn't your friend Glenn give Russell the name of his psychiatrist? You won. Stop spiking the ball.

  3. Funny thing is these two fools managed to hurt Eaton a lot more than Nocera with their latest pathetic attack. I agree with the comment at 3:12, staunch Eaton supporters have to wince at the stupidity of his lieutenants.

  4. RESPONSE: THE "SPIKING THE BALL ? I DIDN'T KNOW I MADE A TOUCHDOWN..." EDITION

WHEN THE DOG DON'T BARK WHEN IT SHOULD.... THAT'S NEWS, OR AT LEAST IT'S NOTEWORTHY

BUT, I'M GLAD YOU THINK I'M AMAZING....

Yes, I'm a regular "Wizard of Oz."

Look, I listened to the damned show, so I was going to be writing about the damned show -- it's as simple as that.

First, when I first heard the initial Josh Duggar segment, both Gene B. and Amanda K. sounded very weird, and I thought it was all a set-up for a Hayon segment that was coming later in the program. After the show was over, and there was no mention of Hayon, I went back and listened to the first thirteen or fourteen minutes of the show again.

Having heard the whole show, Gene's first comments about Gallo's absence jumped out, because of the later contradictions by Berardelli. Also knowing that the Duggar's segment WAS NOT going to be followed by anything about Hayon, the things that were being said by Gene and Amanda sounded even more stilted and contrived than the first time I heard them. In fact, they seemed even odder knowing that the segment were supposed to be only about the Duggars.

The third time through, with playbacks of several individual parts of the Berardelli-Kohut back-and-forth, convinced me. So I wrote the post the way I did.

Your comment is very, very intriguing to me. What did I win, and why was the comment spiking the ball ? I didn't declare or even imply that I had achieved any kind of victory.

I think your comment somewhat exceeds what is contained in my post.... It confirms a couple of things that I thought, though....

So you input is valuable to me, thanks.

  5. Gale,

You got a wicked case of "Hayon on the brain." He is everywhere. Even when he is not!

You got a thing for Gallo and Berardelli too but that's even more weird...

Also, look up sarcasm in the same dictionary you looked up tragedy in. I am pretty sure that's what was meant by the "spiking the football" comment.

These guys are playing you like a harp.

  6. I'm also an Eaton supporter and I think that he should lose Gallo and Berardell.

I'm not sure why are either are mentioned on your blog as they are kind of boring and redundant. Their style of a talk show is the kind that was around in the late '80s or early '90s.

Their online homor is in the same category as the fake Hillary/Gale account - put two and two together.

  8. You should rename the blog "Russell Gallo Strokers" because all you do is talk about him and Gene.

  9. "Radio" listeners - You know they're on AM radio in Philadelphia too. Stick to the facts, but we all know if you do that, you won't have a blog then.

  10. RESPONSE: THE " 'RADIO' LISTENERS EDITION" EDITION

WE BEAM RADIO MESSAGES INTO DEEP SPACE --- THERE ARE MORE LIKELY TO BE "RADIO" LISTENERS TO THOSE BROADCASTS THAN TO THE GENE AND RUSSELL PROGRAM BEING BROADCAST ON WNJC 1360 AM

I think you have found one error in my post. It should have been "radio listener" and not "radio" listener.

I WAS JUST LOOKING AT TWO OF THE MOST RECENT COMMENTS THAT HAD BEEN DELETED BY ME FOR THE TRADITIONAL REASONS --- AND I SAW SOMETHING THAT I'D MISSED BEFORE

Both had opened with a salutation to somebody named "James"....

First, I don't like to redeliver messages. I'm sure your "James" can be reached by E-mail.... I run a blog here, not the USPS....

Second, all the "Jameses" that I know, prefer "Jim" --- and I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that they told you that very thing recently.

  12. I.m a chairman Eaton supporter i just don't know why he doesn't bring into his inner public circle the Pat Russo's, Bob Howe's, Bob Capano's, and Tom McCarthy's of the Party who are respected by most.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Good point about bringing new people closer to Eaton's inner circle. Gene and Russell are egomaniacs who would rather destroy the party if they won't be the focal point.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 10:50- You seem to be doing a good enough job on your own!

  15. They are not egomaniacs! Shame on you. Russ and Gene are buffoons! Oh wait maybe they are both...

  16. Gene and Russ are the worst. They're far worse than Michael Grimm, Joseph Hayon and Vito Lopez!

    And they're fat and balding.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'll second the nomination for Russ and Gene to be buffoons of the week!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would nominate gale's man-crush glenn nocera for buffoon but I don't think he's released any new karaoke videos to support the nom. If only there was a website that showed past videos....
