Top Political Reporter at The Washington Post asks if Barack Obama is a Christian ?

WaPo’s interview with possible GOP presidential candidate Scott Walker raises eyebrows for cheap shot and shoddy journalism  —  Walker answers spontaneously and honestly – “I DON’T KNOW...” –  to question about Obama's religious beliefs

For most right-thinking and fully informed people, that would be a correct answer  —   For others, including me, Obama is clearly a crypto-Muslim – and his personal history and disclosed records indicate that he probably is a Muslim or had been one earlier in his life*

For many good reasons, based on what Barack Hussein Obama has done and said recently, The Washington Post did ask the right question  —   but the WaPo asked it for all the wrong reasons

*****

Also, by asking Scott Walker about Obama's religious beliefs, Dan Balz and his sidekick were really asking the wrong person.  —   Since The Washington Post now recognizes that President Barack Obama’s status and reputation as a Christian is a proper question for general media inquiry, shouldn’t Dan Balz and Robert Costa have put that question rightly and forcefully to Obama himself ?

*****

The Washington Post article by Dan Balz and another reporter opens like this:  “Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a prospective Republican presidential contender, said Saturday he does not know whether President Obama is a Christian. ***   ‘I don’t know,’ Walker said in an interview at the JW Marriott hotel in Washington, where he was attending the winter meeting of the National Governors Association. ***   Told that Obama has frequently spoken publicly about his Christian faith, Walker maintained that he was not aware of the president’s religion....” ( See “Gov. Scott Walker: ‘I don’t know’ whether Obama is a Christian” by Dan Balz and Robert Costa, 2/21/15, The Washington Post [http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/walker-says-he-is-unaware-whether-obama-is-a-christian/2015/02/21/6fde0bd0-ba17-11e4-bc30-a4e75503948a_story.html]).

For those who think that Governor Walker might have mis-spoken, the Balz-Costa article makes  it clear that Walker did not make any mistakes; as is indicated by the following passages from the article: “Told that Obama has frequently spoken publicly about his Christian faith, Walker maintained that he was not aware of the president’s religion. ***   ‘I’ve actually never talked about it or I haven’t read about that,” Walker said, his voice calm and firm. “I’ve never asked him that,’ he added. ‘You’ve asked me to make statements about people that I haven’t had a conversation with about that. How [could] I say if I know either of you are a Christian?’...”

The WaPo article’s closing paragraph was this: “Some figures on the right have consistently questioned Obama’s faith, with some suggesting that he is a Muslim. Obama, however, has often talked about his Christian faith, as he did recently at the National Prayer Breakfast....”  From that one would reasonably conclude that neither Dan Balz nor Robert Costa ever asked Barack Hussein Obama whether he is a Christian.  That would be a relevant and appropriate question; in other words, it would be quite pertinent and in no way impertinent.

However, don’t expect any pointed questioning of this  President about this by any in the MSM, nearly “least of all” at the WaPo. A proper inquisition as to these closely held matters of belief, religious affiliation and/or association will come only from the precincts of the right and/or other non-Democrat, non-Obama apologists. After all, Obama has lied to the American people about so many other things; and historically many have posed as Christians, often for survival, but also for expediency and political advantage. That’s why tough questions still need to be asked of this president; and they should be pressed repeatedly and forcefully. Sort of like a cross-examination, but more-so like a "Third Degree."

  1. UPDATE: THE "DRUDGE REPORT HEADLINE" EDITION

THE DRUDGE REPORT HEADLINE READS: "IS HE OR ISN'T HE?" --- HINT, THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT OBAMA

ANOTHER HINT: DRUDGE IS ASKING IF OBAMA IS A CHRISTIAN --- HMMM, I WONDER WHY ?

The link for the main headline that appeared on the Drudge Report Home Page at about 5:15 AM EST Sunday morning was to the Balz-Costa WaPo story covered in my post above. Thus the question "Is he or isn't he ?" refers to whether President Obama is a Christian.

  2. What does it matter if Obama is a Muslim, a Jew or a Christian? We all worship the same God. In the Catholic Church, the Vatican has said as much at the Second Vatican Council in Nostra Aetatae.

"The Catholic Church regards with esteem the Muslims who worship the same One God" . . . blah, blah, blah and on and on the men in frilly lace droned back when they flung the windows open. Gale, you know that far better than I because you are a far better Catholic than I and far more in the hierarchy's good graces than I.

And . . . you are trying to deflect from the real story - the Giuliani implosion going off the deep end story that will likely hurt the GOP in 2016. Don't deflect, Gale, we are onto you. It's about Rudy not the Muslims.

Also, Harry Seigel from the DN thinks Rudy is off the charts nuts.

  3. RESPONSE: THE " 'CHURCH LADY' CONDEMNS HERSELF" EDITION

"CHURCH LADY" IS WRONG - WRONG - WRONG - AND - WRONG SOME MORE

"CHURCH LADY" SHOWS THAT IN 2015 A PERSON CAN'T BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT AND REMAIN A "GOOD CATHOLIC" OR A "PATRIOTIC AMERICAN"

ALSO SEE HOW SHE CHANNELS HER OWN INNER ANTI-CHRIST, HILLARY CLINTON, WITH HER CATCH-ALL MANTRA " 'WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE...' -- HILLARY IS GONG TO WIN"

Hey World, get this: "Church Lady," good Democrat that she is, has just admitted to being both a bad Catholic and a bad patriot. In answer to the charge that the President of the United States is Muslim she answers "What does it matter if Obama is a Muslim... ?", using her real god, Hillary Clinton's formulation, on the record in congressional testimony, "What difference does it make... dead Americans..."

Also, what kind of coded message is this bag of "Church Lady" overcooked chestnuts: "... 'The Catholic Church regards with esteem the Muslims who worship the same One God' [Catholic Insider Mumbo-Jumbo, Hocus-Pocus]... 'The Catholic Church regards with esteem the Muslims who worship the same One God' . . . blah, blah, blah..."

What is clear from all this bad Catholicism from "Church Lady" is that you Catholics out there need to clean up Santa's Workshop, there are a lot of heretics among the dwarfs. "The Vatican" needs to put this pope into "protective custody" or "Romero-Beckett" him; also, re-create a vital and manly "Holy Office" and restore it's wonderful historic name, "The Inquisition."

  4. On CNN, I just heard Van Jones say that questions like those about Obama's patriotism and religion are legitimate....

"...Republicans can be high-minded or low-minded about President Obama, but they can't be 'muddle-minded'... So those kinds of questions need to be asked...."

  5. UPDATE: THE “IT’S OBAMA’S OWN FAULT” EDITION

TOP CONSERVATIVE GURU, BYRON YORK, POINTS OUT — QUESTIONS ABOUT OBAMA’S RELIGION, ESPECIALLY HIS PROFESSED “CHRISTIANITY” WILL PERSIST, BECAUSE NEITHER THE PRESIDENT NOR THOSE NEAR HIM WILL UPROOT “HIS MUSLIM ROOTS”

LONG A CRITIC OF PRESIDENT OBAMA’S RELIGIOUS-SOUNDING STATEMENTS AND OCCASIONAL OUTWARD EXPRESSIONS OF RELIGIOUS PRACTICE — BYRON YORK AGAIN SAYS AMERICANS’ DOUBTS ABOUT THEIR PRESIDENT’S RELIGION — NOT ONLY ARE JUSTIFIED, THEY ARE OBAMA’S AND HIS DEMOCRATIC SUPPORTERS’ OWN FAULT

"When it comes to confusion, or wrong information, about Obama's religion, Scott Walker is far from alone. Polls have long shown many Americans know little about the president's faith.... *** Some would argue that, while yes, many in the public don't know the president's religion, certainly Scott Walker, the governor of a state, should know. But Walker's answer to the reporters' question just reflects a broader public puzzlement over Barack Obama's faith — a phenomenon that he helped perpetuate and, at this late date in his presidency, seems unlikely to go away.” (See “Why are Americans confused about Obama's religion ?” by Byron York, 2/22/15, The Washington Examiner [http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/why-are-americans-confused-about-obamas-religion/article/2560534]).

In his long but pithy article, York notes that, according to many and varied polls, the American public’s view of President’s religion and/or religiosity has gone steadily downhill since he was first introduced nationally as a Christian in 2007. He also places the blame for that on Barack Hussein Obama, himself, and on the Obama inner circle.

Highlighting a quote from one of his 2010 articles about the same material, Byron York still believes that “ ...[t]he White House blames the situation [confusion about Obama’s personal religion and religious beliefs] on a ‘misinformation campaign’ from Obama's opponents. But Obama and his aides might also blame themselves for the way they've handled the Muslim issue over the years."

Byron York made clear that he was doubling-down on those observations, when he continued his present Washington Examiner article with this: “In the more than four years since that column was published, it's likely at least some confusion about Obama's religion has persisted. For one thing, few people see Obama openly practicing any religious faith. After the president did not attend church on Christmas 2013... Yes, there are a variety of reasons some presidents don't go to church very often, but in Obama's case, absence does nothing to change existing public perceptions of him.”

For York there are other factors as well. He thinks that it would not be a stretch to guess that those Americans who told the Gallup and Pew [Polls] that they did not know the president's faith would remain unsure after hearing reports of what their President said at the recent National Prayer Breakfast, where Obama to some extent tried to explain away 21st Century Islamic violence by urging listeners to "remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ."

One would have to agree with Byron York that “...many people [in the United States] don't pay close attention to the news, and snippets of reports on Obama's faith, like his remarks [Obama made] at the Prayer Breakfast, [ ] yield a confused picture.”

  7. RESPONSE: THE "SINCE YOU BROUGHT IT UP" EDITION

WHERE DOES HILLARY CURRENTLY STAND ON BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA'S "CHRISTIANITY" AND RELATED MATTERS ?

IF YOU CAN GET HER OUT OF HIDING TO LET US ALL KNOW< IT MIGHT MAKE FOR SOME MORE INTERESTING CHIT-CHAT ABOUT BHO

In 2008 weren't some of Hillary's people suggesting that Obama was too unlike the rest of us to be elected president. Oh, and wasn't it one of Hillary's Pennsylvania operatives that was among the first to pursue the notion that BHO was born in Africa not Hawaii; also brought some kind of suit to try to prove it, as I recall. Yep, I'm sure it was one of Hillary's people....
