Isn’t it time to — JUST SAY NO ! — Don't fight THERE when the fight is already HERE

Thursday, California’s Democrat Senior Senator Diane Feinstein said, “We’re either going to fight ISIS there or we are going to fight them here...”  —   The other night, Russell Gallo said almost the same thing about the bad guys in Yemen, while he was knocking Rand Paul’s and other Republican libertarian’s  foreign policy chops....

Now that U.S. Marines have been under orders to throw down their rifles   —   I would suggest that the time has come to strategically retreat, reorganize and retrench at some logically and morally tenable DEFENSIVE LINE   —   We need to admit to ourselves that in this very dangerous world, THE UNITED STATES NOT ONLY HAS LOST THE INITIATIVE, WE HAVE LOST OUR WILL TO FIGHT

If we, as Americans, are forced to make only a choice like the one that people such as Diane Feinstein, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Russell Gallo, and now ostensibly Barack Obama, would urge upon us, I would suggest that we strongly consider FIGHTING  THEM* HERE INSTEAD OF FIGHTING THEM* IN SOME BOUNDLESS AMORPHOUS THERE; and also refocusing all of our efforts to rebuilding FORTRESS AMERICA

It is now our MANIFEST DESTINY to fight a protracted and probably losing series of holding actions to preserve what has been given to us by OUR GOD and OUR FOREBEARS  —   Since, this sacred land of ours is still the LAST BEST HOPE FOR MANKIND  —  It is only this, OUR HOMELAND, that we MUST defend

As everybody should know by now, on Wednesday,  “President Barack Obama asked Congress for new powers to wage military operations against the Islamic State militant group, kicking off a renewed national debate over the scope of wartime powers that should be afforded to the commander-in-chief. ***   American warplanes have pounded Islamic State targets for six months, but Mr. Obama on Wednesday said the proposed resolution authorizing military force is important not only for the U.S. strategy against the group, but also to the cohesion of an international coalition, which includes Arab countries [somebody cue the canned laugh track]...” (See “Debate Opens on New War Powers –  Obama Asks Congress to Back Islamic State Fight” by Crol E. Lee & Michael R. Crittenden, 2/11/15, Wall Street Journal [http://www.wsj.com/articles/obama-asks-congress-to-authorize-military-action-against-islamic-state-1423666095]).  The WSJ article went on to state that “[t]he White House worked with Republican and Democratic lawmakers on the draft language in hopes of increasing its chances of winning bipartisan support....  ” (See also “[PDF] [Proposed] JOINT RESOLUTION
To authorize the limited use of the United States Armed Forces against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant” [http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/docs/aumf_02112015.pdf]).

According to the Wall Street Journal and other outlets, President Obama cited the deaths of four American citizens: James Foley;  Steven Sotloff; Abdul-Rahman Peter Kassig and Kayla Mueller, all while captives of Islamic State militants to emphasize that group’s threat to the United States.  The deaths of Foley, Sotloff and Kassig were all shown on video by ISIS/ISIL, while earlier this week U.S. officials confirmed the death of Ms. Mueller. (Though emotionally upsetting, the deaths of these four did not expose or trigger any vital United States interest.)

“Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” in discussing Obama’s ISIS war powers request, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said ISIS has become a “dominant threat to peace in the world today,” and, “We’re either going to fight them there or fight them here.”   ***   Feinstein said, “They [ISIS] are a dominant threat to peace in the world today. I really believe this. There’s never been a time when there are more threats to the United States than there is now. So as I said once before, we’re either going to fight them there or fight them here. And I believe that. So how the United States worked out its role, the kind of leadership it provides in terms of command presence, in terms of providing equipment, bombing runs, special operations that can do a number of different things on the ground is important. And making that legal, in terms of an authorization to use military force, I think is critical....” ( See “Feinstein: We’re Either Going to Fight ISIS There or Fight Them Here” by Pam Key, 2/12/15, Breitbart News [http://www.breitbart.com/video/2015/02/12/feinstein-were-either-going-to-fight-isis-there-or-fight-them-here/]).

On Wednesday evening on WAAR’s “Behind Enemy Lines...,” that show’s host, Russell Gallo, later joined by Gene Berardelli, used basically the same argument with reference to standing up in Yemen and for other “allies” in the region  —   for some unexplained reason, to put some daylight between his[their] brand of Republican jingoism and the apparent libertarian circumspection manifest by Rand Paul and other GOP libertarians ( See  “ICYMI - Vito & Vito Blew Up The Show!” by Gene Berardelli, 2/12/15,  Behind Enemy Lines - Blogging From Within [http://www.behindenemylinesradio.us/2015/02/icymi-vito-vito-blew-up-show.html]; see also blog radio link at  “WAARadio - Sound Cloud ‘Behind Enemy Lines - Vito & Vito Sabotage The Show!’ ” at 19:15 - 26:45).

Never forget it is Barack Obama that sits on top of every soldier, sailor, airman and marine as “Commander in Chief  —  think about that.  Charles Martell, he is not.

I have stated before that it is my belief that Barack Hussein Obama and the current Obama regime is a “Trojan Horse,” that they have thrown open the gates of the homeland to a variety of foreign invaders, and the nation's enemies are  running amuck across the length and breadth of this land. Under these circumstances it would be worse than foolhardy for Congress to authorize Obama to engage in any sort of foreign misadventure, regardless of the merits of any underlying justification.

In the past I have urged that the people rise up and say, “Hell no !  We won’t go.”
Now, I simply urge all of our national representatives in the House and the several states’ representatives in the Senate to “Just say no” to any additional war powers for Obama and his regime.

  1. Ewwwwww. Don't even place our beloved Hillary's name in the same post as your local right wing zealot compatriots. Ewwww. Gale, you get a dunce cap for this today.

  2. Charles Martell? Careful, Gail, people might think your an Islamicphobe.

It's a good thing that Vlad Putin is around to defend Europe, Christians in the Holy Land and the rest of the West from the followers of Mohammed.

Putin is the new Charles Martell.
As soon as Putin completes his neutering of NATO and consolidates all of his break-away provinces in Russia's Near Abroad, Putin will wrap himself in mantle of the new emperor of a new 21st Century European Union.

  3. The only leader who knows how to stand up to Putin and keep him in check is Hillary. When she becomes President she will keep him in place and show the rest of Europe how to contain him. Hillary will easily stifle any influence Putin has.

  4. RESPONSE: THE “MOSTLY ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON” EDITION

SORRY TO MENTION “HILLARY” WHILE SHE IS IN HIDING — I KNOW THAT’S NOT PART OF THE CLINTON GAME PLAN

OTHER THAN MENTIONING “HILLARY” AND HER INTELLECTUAL KINSHIP TO “GALLO” AND “BERARDELLI,” AND MOST DEVASTATING, “OBAMA” — WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF MY POST, “...JUST SAY NO...” ?

AS FOR VLADIMIR PUTIN BEING A MODERN “...CHARLES MARTELL...” — I’LL GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT, BUT THAT’S PROBABLY TOO MUCH OF A STRETCH — ESPECIALLY WITH HIS ENABLING THE MULLAHS IN IRAN AND ASSAD IN SYRIA

The problem with the Greta Garbo “I want to be alone...” bit is that newspaper people keep looking for you to ask, “Doctor Livingston, I presume ?”

According to Jennifer Rubin “for mere voters” Hillary Clinton “ is invisible, and more important to the media, she is unreachable.” Counsels Rubin: Democrats should be less concerned about Hillary’s fund raising and debate prep and more concerned about why Clinton is in hiding. Specifically she says, “...[T]he former secretary of state, who is supposed to be the smartest woman on the planet and the most expert candidate on foreign policy, can manage only an occasional tweet. That should be deeply worrisome to Democrats....” (See “Hillary Clinton is hiding” by Jennifer Rubin, 2/12/15, The Washington Post/ “Right Turn” [http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2015/02/12/hillary-clinton-is-hiding/]).

To Jennifer Rubin it all means that the once and former First Lady of Whitewater and the White House is hiding so as to duck about twenty major problematic points of public interrogation — all of them listed in Rubin’s Washington Post column cited above.

  5. Hillary is NOT in hiding. As a private citizen, she is smart right now to keep a low profile and await the start of the campaign. However, it should be of interest to you Gale and your many readers that Hillary will be inducted into the Irish America Hall of Fame on March 16th. It will be one of her few public appearances in which Irish New York will thank Hillary for her enduring commitment to peace in Northern Ireland. Hillary has shown support for Ireland both as a First Lady and then as Secretary of State. I am sure Brooklyn Irish Catholics and Irish in America everywhere will keep this in mind on election day.

  6. Just listened to gallos blog show. Not sure i see the connection. He goes wild at the end talking about killing Muslims in a racist rant...

  7. I don't think it's anything about the Commitments or to peace in North Ireland. Hillary Clinton is honorary Irish because she falls down so much and people think she's a drunk

  8. To the commenter at 8:21

President George Bush had put Putin in a box, as in he had him boxed in, over earlier problems with the Ukraine and Chechnya. Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton unleashed Putin. Don't forget her childish toy "Reset Button" and look at what has happened with Russia ever since.

    ReplyDelete
  9. There was a purpose at the time for the so-called reset button as far as for negotiating. No one can question Hillary's foreign policy expertise and experience. Show me one Republican contender who is near to her on that. She is a skilled negotiator and does so from a position of strength and force. Putin's misogynist response to Hillary is just an example of how much America's enemies in the world are threatened by her. If she has a weakness the only one is that she is too beholden to the wealthiest among us. Hopefully, Bernie Sanders will help to influence that view. But no one as I said can doubt her foreign policy expertise. She is the best we have. Republicans know that too.
And so do the Irish - drunk or sober.

  10. If Sarah Palin were to become a Republican contender in 2016, she would be about equal to Hillary Clinton in foreign policy insights and instincts.

Of course, Sarah wouldn't have Hillary's cankles or all of Hillary Clinton's banged up baggage as Secretary of State - like her bad congressional testimony about Benghazi - "What difference does it make? Four dead Americans..."

  11. You Republicans have an odd adolescent obsession with Hillary's ankles, bottom and weight. I mean really grow up.

  12. Why the repetition? "...Hillary's ankles, bottom and weight...." is pretty much a threepeat, isn't it?

  13. RESPONSE: THE "HILLARY THINKS THAT SHE IS BRILLIANT" EDITION

"ANONYMOUS... 11:52 AM" HAS BOUGHT INTO HILLARY'S VIEW OF HERSELF -- IN SHORT, THAT HILLARY'S "RESET BUTTON" TRICK BACK IN 2009 WITH RUSSIA'S FOREIGN MINISTER SERGEI LAVROV LED TO SOME NEGOTIATING SUCCESS -- IT DIDN'T BACK THEN AND IT HASN'T SINCE

In June and July 2014 Hillary did several interviews where she extolled her own diplomatic performance vis a vis Russia in the wake of her ridiculous moment of giving the Russian Foreign Minister the infamous "Reset Button." (Yeah, "That was easy !")

Hillary's Russia diplomacy didn't reset or restart a thing. At best, she got a few of the Bush Doctrine things north of Afghanistan continued a little while into the Obama years -- those things being what Russia wanted to do anyway. The rest of the Bush-Russia freeze in the wake of the Georgian Crisis, only worsened; and the percolating Ukrainian mess boiled over completely as Hillary handed the reins over to the new SOS John Kerry.

And don't even start on the New START Agreement of 2010... it was a poorly negotiated pact that Russia needed badly, that the U.S. didn't need at all, but that Hillary and Obama wanted desperately. Republican Senators voted two-to-one against ratification, but 56 Democrats 2 Independents and 13 Republicans ratified the very bad New START Treaty. This terrible treaty is reason enough not to ever vote for Hillary Clinton.

BTW, to the extent John R. Bolton has indicated that he might run for the Republican nomination for President in 2016, then he is "a Republican contender" that is light years ahead of Hillary on foreign policy expertise and experience.

  14. If Argentina invaded our country, killed 300,000 Americans, destroyed our infrastructure, and destroyed our whole way of life, would you run out to the street and salute the Argentine tank as it rolls down your block ?

    Get the picture?

    ReplyDelete
  15. John Bolton cannot be the President because he has cankles and a big butt. He always tries to hide it by wearing pants. Boltom is a Hibernian name so he should have been seen in a kilt sometime but he has to cover up his cankles. He is unfit to be President according to Republican standards. I guess you are back to your Sarah Palin GOP brain trust for the ticket. The debates will be amusing.

  16. THREAD COMMENT: THE "JOHNNY, GET YOUR GUN, GET YOUR GUN" EDITION

WERE OBAMA AND FEINSTEIN AND JOHN KERRY AND HILLARY CLINTON ALL OVERHEARD HUMMING THIS:

    "Over there, over there,
Send the word, send the word over there -
    That the Yanks are coming,
    The Yanks are coming,
    The drums rum-tumming
    Everywhere.
    So prepare, say a prayer,
Send the word, send the word to beware.
We'll be over, we're coming over,
And we won't come back till it's over
Over there....[As long as it's all done in three years]"

  17. The GOP has Bush, Walker, Rubio, Paul or Cruz as their nominee in 2016. Not one of them can hold a candle to Hillary. Each of them has his own baggage and one is nuttier than the next. Hillary is our next President Gale, there is still plenty of time to get on board.
