Has MSNBC Broken With Obama Over His Handling of the ISIS Crisis in the Middle East and North Africa ?

MSNBC Host “ED” says that  “... it was a weekend of terror around the world...”   —   “..this act of mass murder amounts to a religious war...” —    “...I think it has reached a point where we really have to have a very strong debate in this country [about the ISIS strategy]...”  —  And about the Obama Administration's stated policy concerning "Boots on the Ground,"  the MSNBC host asks,  “... [W]hy would we tell ISIS there’s no way we would ever put ground troops in combat situations? ”

“Later that same evening, [MSNBC'S] Chris Matthews could barely contain his disgust during an interview with State Department Spokeswoman Marie Harf. All Matthews wanted to hear from his government was how we are going to stop these barbarians. Harf’s response, that we need to find ISIS jobs instead of killing them, was as frightening as it was surreal....”

            — John Nolte, Brietbart/ Big Journalism

According to Breitbart reporter John Nolte, an MSNBC show host, Ed Schultz, said this : “... It was a weekend of terror around the globe. In Libya, ISIS released a video showing more bloodshed. The video released on Sunday claims to show the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians. The brutal act of violence is clearly a gross display of what ISIS is capable of, what they’re motivated about, and what they are really all about. And I think this act of mass murder amounts to a religious war. Now we all have our own interpretations at this point. This continues to go on. At this point these people were targeted, as I see it, and murdered because of their faith . . . As I see it, the United States is going to have to have continual reviewal [sic] of its strategy. We can’t sit back here and watch hordes of people get their heads cut off. And why would we tell ISIS there’s no way we would ever put ground troops in combat situations? I think it has reached a point where we really have to have a very strong debate in this country. As I see it, it’s a religious war. What is going to turn back ISIS ? ....”  (See “MSNBC BREAKS WITH OBAMA ON ISIS: ‘RELIGIOUS WAR,’ ‘AMERICA MORALLY HUMILIATED’ ” by John Nolte, 2/17/15, Breitbart News/ Big Journalism [http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2015/02/17/msnbc-breaks-with-obama-on-isis-religious-war-america-morally-humiliated/]).

CHRIS MATTHEWS SOUNDING LIKE AN INTERVENTIONIST NEO-CON  SAYS  —  “AMERICA, OUR COUNTRY, IS BEING MORALLY HUMILIATED....”

John Nolte also cast his gaze on what was going on with the MSNBC show, “Hard Ball with Chris Matthews.”  Nolte reported that on that show MSNBC host Chris Matthews did a bit of a melt down on his guest from the Obama administration, State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf. According to Nolte, “...Chris Matthews could barely contain his disgust during an interview with State Department Spokeswoman Marie Harf. All Matthews wanted to hear from his government was how we are going to stop these barbarians. Harf’s response, that we need to find ISIS jobs instead of killing them, was as frightening as it was surreal....”

The “Hard Ball” transcript of the exchange, taken from “The Right Scoop,” is as follows:
MATTHEWS: Are we killing enough of them?
HARF: We’re killing a lot of them and we’re going to keep killing more of them. So are the Egyptians, so are the Jordanians. They’re in this fight with us. But we cannot win this war by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need in the medium to longer term to go after the root causes that leads people to join these groups, whether it’s lack of opportunity for jobs, whether —
MATTHEWS: We’re not going to be able to stop that in our lifetime or fifty lifetimes. There’s always going to be poor people. There’s always going to be poor Muslims, and as long as there are poor Muslims, the trumpet’s blowing and they’ll join. We can’t stop that, can we? ”

MATTHEWS SEES  A  "MORAL DUTY TO PROTECT... INNOCENTS" FROM ISIS

Nolte also noted that in his closing editorial segment, “Let Me Finish,” Chris Matthews wanted "... America to take action against ISIS."  And that Matthews said, “America, our country, is being morally humiliated....  Some of these [ISIS victims]  must have, in their last moments, been wondering if there’s any chance the people of the United States might be coming to their rescue...  Because that was how we were taught we conduct ourselves. We don’t leave people behind.”

I know the area around the Barclays Center well. I've recently spent a few months working around there. There is nothing around there. Nothing except an awful chinese restaurant, however, a decent bar is on corner of 3rd ave & Atlantic. Why would DNC want it there? DeBlasio talks about the diverse wonderful neighborhood. I dont get it. Are 15,000 people going to walk around Bed Stuy and sit on stoops of brownstones?

Madison Square Garden is perfect. NYC is dead in July.
    Barclays?????

    Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Hillary's contribution to western culture is the addition of the word "cankles" which refers to the bi-lateral unbounded masses between Hillary's right and left kneesies and her right and left footsies. The new word for the lexicon of 2016 no doubt will be "thicankles" (you can fill in the comical/anatomical/clinical details).

    Riddle me this:
If Miss Piggy put on a "Hillary" Mask and Hillary put on a "Miss Piggy" Mask could anybody tell the difference ?

Answer: Yes, Miss Piggy wears dresses, and Hillary, pants suits.

Now, that's a good ol' boy joke that both Bill Clinton and Sarah Palin can get a kick out of.

  11. UPDATE: THE “ ‘AMERICA’S MAYOR’ IS BACK ” EDITION

RUDY GIULIANI DOUBTS THAT OBAMA “LOVES AMERICA”

“HE WASN’T BROUGHT UP THE WAY YOU WERE BROUGHT UP AND I WAS BROUGHT UP THROUGH LOVE OF HIS COUNTRY”
    — RUDY GIULIANI

According to Politico, “Rudy Giuliani went straight for the jugular Wednesday night during a private group dinner here featuring Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker by openly questioning whether President Barack Obama ‘loves America.’ *** The former New York mayor, speaking in front of the 2016 Republican presidential contender and about 60 right-leaning business executives and conservative media types, directly challenged Obama’s patriotism, discussing what he called weak foreign policy decisions and questionable public remarks when confronting terrorists....” ( See “Rudy Giuliani: President Obama doesn’t love America – The former New York mayor makes his remarks at a Scott Walker event.” by Darren Samuelsohn, 2/18/15, Politico [http://www.politico.com/story/2015/02/rudy-giuliani-president-obama-doesnt-love-america-115309.html?ml=tl_1]; see also “Rudy Giuliani Doubts Obama 'Loves America' ” by Sandy Fitzgerald, 2/19/15, Newsmax [http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Rudy-Giuliani-Barack-Obama-Scott-Walker-dinner/2015/02/19/id/625672/]).

President Barack Obama's policy decisions and public remarks about terrorists have led Rudy Giuliani to conclude that President Barack Hussein Obama "doesn't love you, and he doesn't love me," and most of important of all, Rudy doesn't think Obama "loves America."

With Walker sitting just a few seats away, Giuliani continued by saying that “with all our flaws we’re the most exceptional country in the world. I’m looking for a presidential candidate who can express that, do that and carry it out.”

“...I’M NOT SURE HOW WRONG THE CRUSADES ARE... WHAT THE HELL ? WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS MAN [OBAMA] THAT HE CAN’T STAND UP AND SAY THERE’S A PART OF ISLAM THAT’S SICK... ”
    - - - RUDY GIULIANI

GIULIANI SAYS OBAMA ISN'T ANYTHING LIKE RECENT DEMOCRAT PRESIDENTS, CLINTON, OR CARTER

GIULIANI COMPARES OBAMA’S TREATMENT OF ISLAM TO DAVID DINKINS’ TREATMENT OF THE CROWN HEIGHTS RIOTERS

The Daily Caller had a slightly different emphasis on what Rudy Giuliani said and how Politico reported on his comments [See articles cited in my comment at 9:10 AM above].

Here is some of what the Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross had so say about what Rudy Giuliani said, taken mostly from Politico’s interview of Rudy Giuliani following the Scott Walker event for a small gathering of "Conservatives": “You’ve got to be able to criticize Islam for the parts of Islam that are wrong. [Obama criticized] Christianity for the part of Christianity that is wrong. I’m not sure how wrong the Crusades are.... What the hell? What’s wrong with this man that he can’t stand up and say there’s a part of Islam that’s sick?” ( See “Rudy Giuliani Says A ‘Horrible Thing’ About President Obama” by Chuck Ross, 2/19/15, The Daily Caller [http://dailycaller.com/2015/02/19/rudy-giuliani-says-a-horrible-thing-about-president-obama/]).

According to many critics, President Obama soft-pedaled the issue of “Islamic Terrorism” when Obama made his statement in an interview last week that the Islamic terrorist who targeted a Jewish deli in Paris days after the Charlie Hebdo massacre did so “randomly.” On that point, Daily Caller quoted Giuliani’s interview with Politico, during which Giuliani pointed out that: “Violence erupted in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn in August 1991 after an Orthodox Jew accidentally ran over and killed a young black boy. During the riots, a group of black men attacked and killed an Australian Jew. A number of other Jews were attacked. Businesses were looted and burned. *** During his successful 1993 mayoral bid, Giuliani used the term “pogrom” to describe the riots, much to the chagrin of his opponent, incumbent Democrat David Dinkins. *** “Why is this man incapable of saying that?” Giuliani said of Obama in his interview with Politico.”

  15. UPDATE: THE “OBAMA VIEW OF AMERICA” EDITION

“ISLAM HAS BEEN WOVEN INTO THE FABRIC OF OUR COUNTRY SINCE ITS FOUNDING”
    - - - President Barack Hussein Obama

OBAMA FOLLOWS WITH A TORTURED VIEWED OF AMERICA AND AMERICAN HISTORY

QUICKLY REBUTTED BY SHOEBUT, WHO SAID: “...‘WOVEN INTO THE FABRIC OF OUR COUNTRY SINCE ITS FOUNDING’ — YES, IT’S CALLED THE BARBARY PIRATES WARS, THE FIRST WAR AMERICA FOUGHT AGAINST JIHAD....”

We hear a lot about the United States' Judeo-Christian heritage, but according to President Obama, "Islam has been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding." That's what the president told a White House conference on "countering violent extremism" on Wednesday ( See “Obama: 'Islam Has Been Woven Into the Fabric of Our Country Since Its Founding' ”
by Susan Jones, 2/19/15, CNS News [http://cnsnews.com/news/article/susan-jones/obama-islam-has-been-woven-fabric-our-country-its-founding]; see also “'Reject The Narratives' Is Obama's Pathetic War Cry” IBD Editorial, 2/19/15, Investors’ Business Daily [http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/021915-740087-obama-absurdly-claims-islamic-state-not-religious.htm]).

Needless to say there was a quick response — “Obama Says that ‘Islam Has Been Woven Into The Fabric Of Our Country Since Its Founding’. Yes, Its Called The Barbary Pirate Wars, The First War America Every Fought Against Jihad. It Is Because Of Islamic Jihad That America Founded The US Marines” appropriately it came from Theodore Shoebat.... (See “Obama Says That ‘Islam Has Been Woven Into The Fabric Of Our Country Since Its Founding’... Yes, ... Because Of Islamic Jihad That America Founded The US Marines” by Ted [Shoebat], 2/19/15, Shoebat.com Blog
    [http://shoebat.com/2015/02/19/obama-says-islam-woven-fabric-country-since-founding-yes-called-barbary-pirate-wars-first-war-america-every-fought-jihad/]).

Mr. Shoebat also gave a fair and insightful coda as a counterpoint to his main theme -- with this:
“Now Obama wants us to fall for the same deception the Muslims tried to use against the Founding Fathers. But, the biggest mistake the Founding Fathers did was declare to the Muslims after the war, in the Treaty of Tripoli: ‘As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen [Muslims]; and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan [Mohammedan] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.’ *** By declaring itself a non-Christian nation, and not a nation against Islam, the American fabric enables Islam, and other dangerous ideologies, to inundate the society, and that is why we have Obama. *** We must learn from the Crusades in order to obtain the spirit of Christendom, and how the war with Islam should be conducted: Holy War, done by Christendom.”

  19. RESPONSE: THE "AD HOMIN-MUM" EDITION

FAILURE TO RECOGNIZE AN INTELLECTUALLY WEAK AND MORALLY SUSPECT AD HOMINEM ATTACK SHOWS A LAX AND UNCRITICAL MIND — BUT THE FRENZIED PUSHBACK IS ALL GOOD

"...[R]ead Wayne Barrett's piece in the DN today - he destroys Giuliani. Brilliant." -- NOT !

I've looked at a few of the iterations and re-iterations of the Wayne Barrett attacks on Rudy Giuliani -- there are so many in such a short period of time....

All appear to be happy with the result of Mr. Barrett's research into a hit-piece biography of "America's Mayor" that Barrett is no doubt set to market or re-market – "Rudy: An Investigative Biography." .

The "arguments" advanced by Mr. Barrett, and all the media-parrots, are ad hominem attacks on Mr. Giuliani, some of his political associates, and certain members of his family [including mention of the plaints of former wives – very nice stuff, indeed].

Btw, today’s DN Editorial is just a riff on the Barrett article – just as intellectually weak, morally suspect and even cowardly....

Although they all look like attacks on "RUDY" -- they are really veiled [and a few not-so-veiled] defenses of Obama by this one particular bodyguard in the press. Those journalistic bodyguards all have their marching orders. Simply put, they are "shoot to kill" verbally when defending BHO from any attack.

I guess this shows that RUDY drew blood with his remarks. — And Obama’s guardians are in a frenzy trying to push back. That makes it all good, I suppose.

  20. OMG Gale, Giuiani's ranting is a nightmare for the GOP especially Scott Walker. Giuliani has now tarnished an already tarnished legacy. He really should just shut up as he is not helping his party. But he won't because he is a narcissist and like most of those he needs to be in the spot light even if it is to the detriment of his Party's interests. In other news, Hillary is doing just fine and her millions of supporters are enjoying the GOP antics as we watch them self-implode. btw, where did Scott Walker go to college? I can't find it listed on his bio . . . lololol

  21. RESPONSE: THE "NOT ONLY IS RUDY RELEVANT AGAIN -- HIS STAR IS ON THE RISE" EDITION

RUDY HAS BELLED THE DEMOCRATS' CAT --- AGAIN --- JUST LIKE HE DID WHEN HE RAN LOCALLY IN NYC AGAINST DAVID DIMKINS

THIS TIME HE'S "SPOT ON" WHEN IT COMES TO THE WAR ON THEISLAMIST TERRORISTS. DEMOCRATS LIKE OBAMA AND HILLARY CLINTON JUST "DON'T LOVE AMERICA ENOUGH" TO HURT THE FEELINGS OF THE RADICAL ISLAMISTS

PLUS FOR DEMOCRATS THE ANSWER TO EVERY PROBLEM, EVEN TERRORISM AND COMMON STREET CRIME, IS A JOBS PROGRAM AND MIDNIGHT BASKETBALL LEAGUES -- OH, AND IN THE SANDRA FLUKE PHASE FOR THE BURKHA LADIES -- FREE ABORTION, BIRTH CONTROL AND DAY CARE...

Until this week, I could have cared less about the political prospects of a Rudy Giuliani. But now that he's brought the issue of the lack patriotism of certain leading Democrats -- to the point of calling-out some of treacherous policies and rhetoric of the Obama regime -- I think Rudy's star is rising among Republicans and other real Americans.

GIULIANI TELLS NEW YORK POST THAT PRESIDENT OBAMA: WAS EDUCATED BY PEOPLE WHO HATED AMERICA (AND OBVIOUSLY, AS PRESIDENT HE HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO OVERCOME THOSE INFLUENCES)

GIULIANI”S LATEST COMMENTS TO THE NY POST PICKED UP BY REPUBLICAN AND CONSERVATIVE MEDIA ACROSS THE U.S.A. — SUDDENLY GIULIANI IS BACK TO BEING AMERICA’S MAYOR AGAIN

At 2:45 PM EST, the Daily Caller’s lead story was about Rudy Giuliani's repeating to the world that Barack Hussein Obama was raised by a pack of Commies (and mostly not by his loony walk-about mom). Here’s how Daily Caller started off their article – “Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani continued to hammer President Obama — despite widespread media outrage — in an interview published Saturday in which he claimed the man in the White House had a communist-influenced upbringing....” (See “Giuliani: Obama Not Only Doesn’t Love America, He’s HEAVILY Influenced By Communists” by Scott Greer, 2/21/15, Daily Caller [http://dailycaller.com/2015/02/21/giuliani-obama-not-only-doesnt-love-america-hes-heavily-influenced-by-communists/]).

According to Rudy G., from the time little Barack (or “Barry” or whatever alias he was using at the time) "...was 9 years old, he was influenced by Frank Marshall Davis, who was a communist,” reported the New York Post in its Saturday editions. The former mayor also said that a “socialist” named Saul Alinsky served as a major inspiration for Barack Obama during his days as a community organizer in Chicago ( See “Giuliani: Obama influenced by communists since youth” by Carl Campanile and Geoff Earle, 2/21/15, NY Post [http://nypost.com/2015/02/21/giuliani-obama-influenced-by-communists-since-youth/]).

All the while sticking to his previous comments that Barack Obama “doesn’t love America,” Rudy Giuliani pointed out in his interview by the Post that Obama’s views all reflected his having spent “17 years in the church of Jeremiah Wright. Then he noted, “[T]his is the guy who said, ‘God damn America, not God bless America.’... Obama never left that church.”

Then Giuliani concluded, “ He [Obama] was educated by people who were critics of the US. And he has not been able to overcome those influences.”

  23. UPDATE: THE “RUDY GIULIANI LOVES THE ECHO HE’S HEARING” EDITION

NEWSMAX MAKES SURE THAT GIULIANI’S STORY CONTINUES TO HAVE LEGS

REPORT: JOHN CATSIMATIDIS AND BOBBY JINDAL SUPPORT GIULIANI’S VIEW OF THE PRESIDENT

At 6:30 PM EST, Newsmax was leading with a news story about Rudy Giuliani and his negative views about President Obama’s love of this country. According to Newsmax, “ Giuliani made his controversial comments that he did not believe the president "loves America," and has been appearing on one interview after another to stand his ground....” (See “Giuliani: I'm Getting Death Threats for My Obama Remarks” by Sandy Fitzgerald, 2/21/15, Newsmax [http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/giuliani-obama-death-threats/2015/02/21/id/626135/]). Also in the Newsmax article were some details about the small Scott Walker dinner event where Rudy Giuliani made the first round of his controversial remarks about the sitting President. According to Newsmax, the gathering was backed by billionaire grocer John Catsimatidis and was sponsored by a new group, the Committee to Unleash American Prosperity, founded by Kudlow, Arthur Laffer, Steve Moore, and Steve Forbes. Following the Scott Walker event, Giuliani said he had gotten supportive calls from John Catsimatidis, who New York’s former mayor says told him he was saying what was on other people's minds; and that he got a similar expression of support from Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, another potential Republican candidate for President in 2016

Newsmax also reported about a CNN interview of New York’s ex-mayor where it was disclosed that Giuliani and his office staff have received death threats because of Giuliani’s comments about President Obama.

At about the some time, Giuliani insisted to a CNN interviewer that he is not himself running to be the GOP presidential nominee in 2016; and that he made the anti-Obama comments because he was disgusted by President Obama and his response to the murders of Egyptian Coptic Christians at the hands of ISIS, and the response to last month's attacks in Paris.
