What if somebody threw a coup and nobody came ?
Did Obama foil a “Septembrist Revolt” of generals and admirals — and win re-election against a hobbled GOP at the same time ?
What role was played by the Republican “Loyal Opposition” and the Main Stream Media, including Fox, in all of it ?
Scary stuff, kids !
WHY HAVE THE PRESS AND REPUBLICANS STAYED MUM — OR NEARLY SO — ON THIS STUFF
In spite of the efforts of a couple of Congressional Committees, and even the ongoing efforts by a Special Congressional Committee under Trey Gowdy late in 2014-2015, why has the GOP had so much trouble putting anything "together" on this whole Benghazi thing ? Why has the Fox News and Republican politics ever since and all about Benghazi made no sense at all ? Why in the fall of 2012 did all of GOP candidate Mitt Romney’s “false steps” on the Benghazi issue fall flat on their face ? Why did Obama’s numbers and his campaign get better after Benghazi ? Why has the REMOVAL of so many of the key players surrounding the whole Benghazi thing gone on with little comment and almost no public notice whatsoever ?
The GOP had become paralyzed by its consultants and managers. That was as true in 2012 as it is today. When it came to something that was arguably an attempted military coup against a sitting President, what could a “loyal opposition” do in the middle of a presidential campaign ? Use it against the President politically ? How loyal is that ? Besides, why risk the backlash ? NO ! When in doubt — Just stay out of it completely.
So why did Romney keep bringing Benghazi up ? Sometimes candidates can’t help themselves. Anyway, every time that Romney brought it up, he got burned — both by the media and by key Republicans. Also, Romney thought he could get away with telling only part of the story.
Maybe, anybody talking about Benghazi without mention of the coup and Obama’s counter-coup is only telling part of the story.
HOW CAN I GET A STRAIGHT STORY OUT OF THIS BLOG !!!!
ReplyDelete1- You mention Benghazi 10 times but not once what country its in.
2- This is Romneys 4th run for President. The first was in '68
Benghazi is in west Belfast. The Shankhill Road runs through it.
ReplyDeleteMI-5 is looking at all the old murderous IRA Provos for Al-Qaeda links right now. If nothing else to settle old scores before they die of old age. They'd probably be easy to find, they were all grass on the MI-5's own lists at one time or another.
ReplyDeleteTo the "Veronica Guerin" who occasionally posts on this blog, the Millennium Needle on O'Connell Street, Dublin, is a monument to all the heroin moved by IRA Provos to finance their killing campaign. As a result they killed many more citizens of the Republic than anybody else -- giving the motto "Up the Republic" a whole new meaning.
ReplyDeleteI suppose you are correct. But over here we were always told the IRA was anti-drug and would kill a drug dealer on sight (or hit him in the knee caps). Martin Galvin from NORAID said that. (He went to Catholic school.)And Martin Galvin was named an honorary aid to Cardinal Dolan in this year's parade. Dolan is the grand marshall. No ones up in arms about that. They are too busy worrying about the gays with their banners waving I guess.
ReplyDeleteDolan is not a serious Catholic, he's a clown, who loves making silly jokes while wearing his clown clothes.

ReplyDeleteJUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT THINGS COULDN’T GET MUCH WORSE; A BUNCH O’ GUYS SAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS — “I THINK GOWDY HAS BEEN WARNED AWAY OR THREATENED”
BTW — RETIRED MAJOR GENERAL PAUL VALLELY’S NAME WAS REPEATEDLY MENTIONED IN SEVERAL OF THE SOURCE ARTICLES FOR MY MAIN POST ABOVE
In exclusive interviews conducted by Jerome Corsi with 11 of the 17 members of something called “The Independent Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi,” or CCB, it is clear that various members of the CCB, speaking on their own behalf and not as spokesmen for the Commission, are expressing concerns, wanting to make sure the Gowdy investigation is not compromised by top elements within the GOP, including House Speaker John Boehner and other members of “The Gang of Eight” (See ““ADMIRALS, GENERALS, INTEL: BENGHAZI INQUEST COMPROMISED” by Jerome Corsi, 1/18/15, World Net Daily [http://www.wnd.com/2015/01/military-veterans-benghazi-inquest-compromised/] [containing a complete list of the membership of the CCB]).
If you are new to this information, Corsi and WND want you to know this: “The “Gang of Eight” is a reference to eight leaders in the House and Senate who are regularly briefed by the White House on intelligence matters: the speaker of the House and the House minority leader; the Senate majority and minority leaders; and the chairmen and ranking members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. *** In the recently completed 113th Congress, the following Republicans were in the “Gang of Eight”: House Speaker Boehner; then-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell; Rogers, as chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence; and Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., as ranking member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence....”
Several members of the CCB have questioned whether the Republicans in the Congressional ‘Gang of Eight’ somehow think that if the truth about Benghazi were to come out, they would be found in some way responsible; especially if what came out indicated that they had advance knowledge about the Obama administration’s secret operations in and around Benghazi, and after the 9/11/12 Benghazi attacks, they did nothing to reveal that information to the public.
Corsi reports that it was a lack of trust in the congressional investigations of Benghazi that prompted the formation of the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi in 2013. The founding members of the CCB were U.S Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, U.S. Navy four-star Admiral James Lyons, U.S. Air Force General Tom McInerney (all retired) and Accuracy in Media Editor Roger Aronoff. CCB member Major General Paul Vallely told Corsi that he believed Congressman Trey Gowdy “has received much pressure not to get to the truth, and we are now coming to the conclusion that there is no longer any intention in Washington, by the leadership of both the Democratic and Republican Parties, to get to the truth.... An honest investigation into Benghazi would prove treasonous acts at the very top of the White House and the State Department, and a continuing cover-up in Congress that now involves the Republican leadership and especially House Speaker John Boehner....” Vallely said.
Among many other detailed bits of supporting information, Corsi’s WND article states: “Among the CCB’s most significant findings, released last April in an Interim Report, was that ‘the U.S. facilitated the delivery of weapons and military support to Al Qaeda-linked rebels in Libya,’ and that ‘on the day of the attacks in Benghazi, whether or not there was an official order to stand down, the result was the same. There were military assets, for example, at the U.S. base in Sigonella, in Sicily, Italy, that could have been brought to bear, and perhaps could have saved the lives of the two men killed at the CIA Annex, the scene of the second attack that night. The failure to attempt to rescue these Americans amounts to a dereliction of duty.’...”

My main post above was in the nature of a "Coming Attractions" posting.... Those who have read it, know that there are no source articles or other citations of sources. However, when I do publish my follow-up article about the "...foiled coup..." and "...Obama's counter-coup...", it will contain such cites; and some of those materials did repeatedly mention retired Major General Paul Vallely [although possibly as disinformation].

ReplyDelete“SURVEY SAYS ! ......” — OBAMA’S UNPOPULARITY WITH MILITARY AT ALL-TIME HIGH — REPUBLICANS LOSING GROUND WITH TROOPS AS WELL
MORALE IN THE MILITARY IS SWIFTLY SINKING, WITH TROOPS LOSING BOTH THEIR SENSE OF MISSION AND THEIR FAITH THAT THEIR SUPERIORS, POLITICAL LEADERS — AND THE NATION — STILL HAVE THEIR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART
— MILITARY TIMES EDITORIAL, 12/21/14
According to the “Military Times,” a survey of almost 2,300 active-duty service members shows that “...Obama's popularity — never high to begin with — has crumbled, falling from 35 percent in 2009 to just 15 percent this year, while his disapproval ratings have increased to 55 percent from 40 percent over that time....” ( See “AMERICA'S MILITARY: A conservative institution's uneasy cultural evolution – Ch 1 – Obama’s mark on the military...profound change inside the ranks” by Stephen Losey, 12/21/14, Military Times [http://www.militarytimes.com/story/military/2014/12/21/americas-military-a-conservative-militarys-cultural-evolution/18959975/]).
On the other hand, “After decades of fierce loyalty to the GOP, today’s warfighters wonder who really represents their interests in Washington...” (See “AMERICA'S MILITARY: A conservative institution's uneasy cultural evolution – Ch 2 – Troops fed up with politics...”
by Leo Shane III, 12/21/14, Military Times [same link as above]). This is the pith of what Mr. Shane had to say under his subheading, “Shifting loyalties”: “The loss of faith in lawmakers comes at a time when troops are less likely to identify with either major political party. ***
In the last nine years of the Military Times Poll, the percentage of respondents who consider themselves Republican has slowly dropped, from nearly half of those surveyed in the late 2000s to just 32 percent this year. Increasingly, readers are more likely to describe themselves as libertarian (9 percent) or independent (28 percent). *** Likewise, readers who described themselves as "very conservative" have remained steady over the years, but "conservative" respondents have dwindled as well — down to 29 percent from a high of 41 percent in 2011. *** Democrats and liberal readers make up about 8 percent of the poll respondents....”
