NOW YOU SEE 'EM — NOW YOU DON'T
. SEE HOW DA Hynes “hid in plain sight” after sending the case of State Senator Marty Golden’s nephew and other Golden relatives to a Special Prosecutor from Queens — all the while, Brooklyn DA Hynes kept the companion case against a computer tech, a case that could tie State Senator Golden into the rest of the Kettle Black mess; it was all by way of some alleged cover-up or the destruction of video surveillance evidence of key moments during the Kettle Black "Blow-up"
. LETS KEEP THIS PART A LITTLE INCOGNITO, OK... while one of y/k/w’s nephews and his other relatives were on trial in Brooklyn, another of y/k/w's nephews was getting “hooked-up” by y/k/w to come onboard with the Hynes DA team as part of the 2013 class of new ADAs
. AND ON TOP OF THAT YOU'LL GET TO BE IN THE KNOW that y/k/w spoke at the January 10, 2013 swearing in of new ADA's in the courtroom of Judge Barry Kamin's — and what's more, that y/k/w walked around telling everybody he could that "Jimmy S" was his nephew
YES, A THOUSAND LAUGHS, BUT THERE IS A SOMBER AND SERIOUS SIDE TOO
WOULD YOU BELIEVE THIS ? — WELL-KNOWN LAWYER ARTHUR AIDALA IN ON THE ACTION — DINO AMOROSO COMPLAINS ABOUT HAVING TO PAY HIM
.YOU WILL GET TO SEE THAT Marty Golden’s nephew, who had been charged with attacking a police officer at the Kettle Black, had as his attorney, one Arthur Aidala, who continued as a regular caller and visitor to the Brooklyn DA’s executive offices on “The 19th Floor” of 350 Jay Street during all of this stuff
.YOU WILL ALSO GET TO SEE THAT somebody overheard an exasperated Dino Amoroso say this about Arthur Aidala (admittedly half in jest), “It’s not bad enough that he calls me ten times a day, now they want me to write him a check for something he should be doing for free...” — you too can enjoy asking, "What account was that check coming from and what could it possibly have been for ?"
FEEL THE EMOTION OF AIDALA’S BIG MOMENTS AT HYNES’ “LAST HURRAH”
. AH, THE PATHOS of Arthur Aidala’s asking over and over, “"When are we going for a Martini...” outside the event at Hunter’s Steak and Ale House, “early” on election night 2013 — or Aidala’s helping a dazed Charles “Joe” Hynes to the door of his SUV after Hynes’ final election night — Lastly, see the high-priced lawyer’s passionate hug of a completely drained Larry Morrish
STILL MORE — MARTY GOLDEN BESTOWS CULTURAL HONORS ON HIS NEPHEW’S DEFENSE LAWYER
.EXPERIENCE THE GRATITUDE as State Senator Martin Golden honors Arthur Aidala with a “cultural” award not long after Aidala did lots of the heavy lifting for Golden’s nephew to “beat the rap” of attacking a police officer at the Kettle Black
These topics in greater detail and much more will be in upcoming post(s), “The Curios Cases of Arthur Aidala, ‘Joe’ Hynes and Marty Golden — Parts 1 & 2 ” (expected to be posted in two parts on a blog near you) — With any luck, all of you can see it here first — ahead of the News, Post, Times and Observer, whose guys and gals are looking at most of this stuff too.
Still not sure how to look at this Hynes scandal. For years everytime time I read about Hynes with his hand in the cookie jar nothing ever happened.
ReplyDeleteWhy should this be any different and who is this guy Ameruso?
The name is Amoroso.
ReplyDeletepress says he is the guy who wrote checks from the asset forfeiture account to campaign workers.
CORRECTION ABOVE: It wasnt press who said prosecutor Dino Amoroso wrote illegal checks from money seized from drug dealers to Hynes campaign staff. That was reported by Department of Investigation after an investigation.
ReplyDeleteI read it in the New York Post which means it has to be true
I always knew "Kettlegate" would come back to haunt Golden.
ReplyDeleteCurious: Why the upper caps and bold when you write? Isn't that redundant? Akin to underlining and italicizing at the same time?
ReplyDeleteDino Amoroso was the Deputy DA under Hynes and his true right-hand man. A real behind the scenes guy. Not liked by the local Judges at all or other highers ups. Amy always thought he wanted her job and Mary Hughes called him a serial liar (in keeping with the who's calling the kettle black theme.)From 1983 - 1990 Dino was up in Albany as Mario Cuomos' Confidential legal Counsel. He was set to be appointed by Cuomo junior to a racing betting casino position this year but that never happened. His close ties to the Cuomos is exactly ehy nothing - absolutely nothing - will come out of the DOI Hynes corruption investigation. Dino has too much on people. What did Dino do as Deputy DA? He handled the cash - all of it - only Dino.
ReplyDeleteBACKFILL: THERE ARE REAL VICTIMS OF “ASSET FORFEITURES” — OR THE “POSSIBLE SILVER LINING” EDITION
ReplyDeleteFALL OF HYNES — MORE THAN A FEW LESSONS ABOUT EGO, VANITY AND POWER
THE CURRENT SYSTEM IS TOO VULNERABLE TO ABUSE — PROSECUTORS HAVE HANDS IN THE POCKETS OF ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE MERELY “ACCUSED” OF CRIMES
A month ago, a New York Observer editorial opined and opened thus: “The fall of former Brooklyn District Attorney Charles (Joe) Hynes contains more than a few lessons about ego, vanity and power....” (See “EDITORIAL – Forfeit Follies” by the Editors of NY Observe, 6/11/14, NY Observer/ Opinion [http://observer.com/2014/06/forfeit-follies/]). The same editorial conclude with this: “The sad saga of Joe Hynes may provide an opportunity for reformers to create a more equitable system of asset forfeiture. The current system is all too vulnerable to abuse, as the Hynes case demonstrates.”
Between tie two editorial statements quoted above, “The Editors of the New York Observer” present a stark picture of the levels of “asset forfeitures” that are being carried out by prosecutors in New York State and even throughout other parts of the country. This is the pithy core of the problem as seen by those “Editors”: “... In theory, prosecutors act quickly to seize assets so that suspects can’t hide or dispose of ill-gotten gains while their case is adjudicated. But forfeitures have gotten out of control, allowing prosecutors to seize funds with impunity from—let’s remember—people merely suspected of a crime. *** This eagerness to tap into the assets of suspected miscreants has distorted the criminal justice system and created a perverse incentive to arrest or investigate people and institutions with deep pockets....”
what is this?
ReplyDeleteIn a word, "Tyranny" !
ReplyDeleteThank you, for playing straight man...
What a news flash.
ReplyDeleteGuys named Dino, Marty, and Arty from Brooklyn are involved with funny money.
Shocked !!
Truly Shocking !!
Who wrote this post? Some political consultant that hires himself out to anybody who pays him even Democrats.
ReplyDeleteIt is just a bunch of unproved charges against Golden and the other guys. It isn’t even complete sentences in most places.
It talks about all those connections between Golden and Hynes and this lawyer Aidala. All I see is normal stuff between Hynes and Golden, especially when Hynes was Golden’s DA for years and Golden was a solid law and order guy backing Hynes.
If this is the coming attraction, I'll skip the feature.
ReplyDeleteWHy not tell everybody about the "COnnections" between Marty Golden and Dino AMoroso. There are plenty of those to.
ReplyDeleteAre you listening in to my calls with one of my Baker Street Irregulars ?
ReplyDeletePerhaps, you are that very same Baker Street Irregular, who just can't seem to keep his/her hot little fingers off their computer keyboard for a day or three.
I need to take a course in code breaking to read this stuff
ReplyDeleteI don't get the Dino Amoroso Marty Golden connection. Dino is a lifelong Democrat and owes everything he has - convertible Lexus and all - to the work he has done for the Dems. He raises tons of money for these folks. Golden is a Republican. What is the connection? And could you get one of your Baker street gals or guys to look into the Gordon Shaw representation by Artie Aidala? Gordon Shaw bragged a lot about that. He's been stuck in ECAB for twenty or so years works nine to twelve and makes 90K but it is all okay because his old man was a judge and Gordon works hard on the Hynes reelection campaigns each year. He never passed the bar so he can only be a paralegal. Speaking of not passing the bar, get one of the Baker street guys to look into the three current ADA's who have not passed character and fitness in NY. They try cases all of them - since at least 2005 yet have not been admitted. More than authorizing illegal payouts to Mortimor Matz don't you think Amy Feinstein should be held accountable for allowing unlicensed ADAs to practice?
ReplyDeleteVecchione may have run the DA office under Hynes, but Dino ran everything.
ReplyDeleteLots of money in seizures. Lots of important people involved.
hynes had a seizure?
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE & BACKFILL: THE “EVEN MORE AND BETTER COMING ATTRACTIONS” EDITION
ReplyDeleteDINO AMOROSO COULD THANK BROOKLYN REPUBLICAN MARTY GOLDEN FOR BEING ABLE TO GET HIS TOP ADA POSITION BACK AFTER HE GOT BOOTED FROM HIS NASSAU OTB GIG BY NASSAU REPUBLICANS
In response to “Anonymous... July 15, 2014 at 3:49 PM” – State Senator Martin J. Golden [R-C Kings] was a key player in making it possible for Dino Amoroso to get his old job back at the Brooklyn DA’s Office in 2010 after losing his prior job.
In spite of any of the gripes that many of Hynes’ high insiders “on the 19th Floor” might have had working for “His Majesty” over the years – even somebody with the big-time Democrat hooks of a Dino Amoroso at home in Nassau County needed to get his job in Brooklyn back after the tables were turned and Dino got booted from his job as President of the NASSAU DOWNS/ NASSAU COUNTY OTB operation. Even though the Brooklyn DA’s Office was under the control Democrat Charles “Joe” Hynes, a relatively “clean” rehiring of Dino Amoroso would not have been possible without some good will and heavy lifting in Albany by Brooklyn Republican Marty Golden. So clearly Marty delivered for Hynes and Dino when and where it counted.
All about that and more in “The Curios Cases of Arthur Aidala, ‘Joe’ Hynes and Marty Golden — Parts 1 & 2 ” coming soon.
BACKFILL: THE “ANOTHER PRECINCT HEARD FROM” EDITION
ReplyDeletePART OF YERACHMIEL LOPIN’S TAKE ON ARTHUR AIDALA FROM A RECENT “FRUM FOLLIES” POST
It is pretty clear that there is no love lost between Yerachmiel Lopin and Arthur Aidala. According to the FRUM FOLLIES version, “Aidala specializes in trying to intimidate DA staff by dropping hints about his special connection to District Attorney, Charles J Hynes. Aidala is President of the Charles J Hynes Association and is reputed to be a bundler for his campaign. I suppose that makes him a very good friend of Joe Hynes. I am guessing the defendant was directed to Aidala by the Munkatcher Rebbe who is the community’s ultimate shadchan (matchmaker) between criminals and lawyers. He also brokers campaign contributions to candidates....” (See “A Great Day for Hasidic Perverts” by Yerachmiel Lopin, 7/15/14, Frum Follies [https://frumfollies.wordpress.com/2014/07/15/a-great-day-for-hasidic-perverts-2/]).
Although this information is apparently now somewhat aged material, it is quite relevant to my overview of the kinds of things various investigations are likely to uncover and tie together among the likes of Hynes and Aidala; and probably Hynes, Aidala and Golden, as well.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
ReplyDeleteIt is important to note that the material cited above contained the following lead-in paragraph : “‘This was first posted about year ago on the Jewish calendar about a sad 17 Tammuz event in the fight against child molesting.’ – Yerachmiel Lopin”
I had difficulty finding the original posting on Frum Follies, but I did find this on the “duz is neis” blog: (See “Chassidic Perverts celebrate on Shiva Asar B'Tamuz, while the rest of Jewry mourns” by ... , 6/26/13, from Frum Follies re-posted on the “dus iz nies” blog [http://dusiznies.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html]).
The 2013 post by Yerachmiel Lopin is quite negative in it’s treatment of Mr. Aidala. Although the material quoted above is typical of many of the statements about Arthur Aidala contained in Mr. Lopin’s 7/15/14 post, there are many more of them throughout the rest of it. A more complete quote of the material quoted above is as follows:
“...Jump forward about two years to May 30th [in 2013]; Deutsch had a new attorney of record, Arthur (Artie) Aidala. I immediately knew this was bad news for justice. *** Aidala specializes in trying to intimidate DA staff by dropping hints about his special connection to District Attorney, Charles J Hynes. He also brokers campaign contributions to candidates. *** As of June 20th [in 2013], the ADA on the case, Linda Weinman told the court she wanted to go to trial unless the defendant accepted a plea bargain of 3 years. Aidala smirked and took a pass on the offer. Artie had a good reason to smirk. According to the word on the street, Artie was working with Joe and even arranged a direct meeting between Hynes and the victims . It is also rumored that Artie had a hand in arranging a meeting between Hynes and a representative of the victim of Aidala’s other well known Hasidic perv, Baruch Mordechai Lebovits.... ”
UPDATE: THE “MORE ON THE MORELAND COMMISSION” EDITION
ReplyDeleteU.S. ATTORNEY LOOKING INTO THE SUDDEN SHUT DOWN OF NYS ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION
IS FEDERAL PROBE OF CORRUPTION IN NEW YORK STATE PIVOTING TO COMPLETELY NEW ISSUES — POSSIBLY INCLUDING A HYNES-CUOMO CONNECTION
According to Willaim K. Rashbaum and Susanne Craigjuly’s report in the New York Times, “Federal prosecutors investigating Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s shutdown of an anticorruption commission have subpoenaed the assistant to its former executive director to testify before a grand jury in Manhattan, suggesting that the criminal inquiry has moved to a new stage, people briefed on the matter said on Thursday. *** Federal agents served the subpoena on the assistant, Heather Green, on Wednesday morning, appearing at her doorstep before 7 a.m., the people said. Ms. Green, who is not believed to be a target of the inquiry, worked as an executive assistant to the anticorruption panel’s former executive director, Regina Calcaterra, until Mr. Cuomo announced he was disbanding the panel, known as the Moreland Commission, on March 29....” (See “U.S. Issues Subpoena in Inquiry on Cuomo’s Closing of Moreland Commission” by Willaim K. Rashbaum & Susanne Craigjuly, 7/17/14, NY Times [http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/18/nyregion/subpoena-for-testimony-on-anticorruption-commission-shut-by-cuomo.html?_r=0] [Note: Thomas Kaplan contributed reporting]).
The actual objective of a federal criminal inquiry aimed at the circumstances surrounding the precipitous shutdown of Governor Cuomo’s Moreland Commission remains unclear. However, it does seem to be focused on whether the shutdown, or even actions related to directing the commission’s inquiries, might have interfered with any prospective federal investigations.
This sudden look at Governor Andrew Cuomo might lead federal prosecutors to take a closer look at Emails from former Brooklyn DA Hynes and former Governor Mario Cuomo. That is a stretch, but not as far as many might think; after all, both Hynes and Dino Amoroso have had longstanding relationships with the former Governor that might still be paying dividends with the current Governor Cuomo.
One thing Preet will never stumble across is any dirt involving Chuck Schumer and how he wound up with 28 million dollars in his campaign fund.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure about that.
ReplyDeleteThe U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York appears to go after both Republicans and Democrats.
If a trail leads to New York's Senior Senator Chuck Schumer, Preet Bharara will follow it.
The last time Schumer had any problems worth investigating, he was a brand new congressman; and both the Feds and Brooklyn DA Liz Holtzman gave him a pass. It was all about something questionable in Schumer's last term in the NYS Assembly, while he was running to fill Holtzman's seat in congress.
Ha Ha ha !!
ReplyDeletePreet will follow money trail to Schumer. Yeah right.
Preet was Schumers counsel in the Senate than Schumer nominated him to be US Atty.
The only democrats Preet goes after are the ones Schumer tells him to.
