During the next week, members of the Kings County Republican County Committee should be getting mail, personal phone calls, robo-calls and emails telling them how they should fulfill their duties as GOP County Committee Members --- Craig Eaton's Republican County Organization has already sent out at least one such mailing; and if you are a GOP CC Member you should have received it by now...
The first pro-Eaton piece of mail is from "Brooklyn Republicans" It asked and answered three important questions:
• What is the County Convention?
• Who are we electing?
• What do I need to know?
Needless to say it contained a very effective soft-sell on behalf of the current GOP County Chairman, along with a warning for County Committee Members not to be hoodwinked into giving away their valuable vote by way of a proxy.
Obviously, there is more to come from "both sides" and possibly even a third or fourth side, since this is a game everybody can play.
At least one part of one new piece of mail should "...harken you back to the days of yesteryear ...and the adventures of the Lone Ranger...." Could it be a rousing Rossini overture borrowed from "William Tell" ?(Not likely, this will be a piece of mail not a robo-call, but save that thought for the robo-call edition.) Could it be the famous heroic shout, "Hi-Ho, Silver ! Away!" ? Could it be a guest appearance of that actor Jay Silverheels, who played Tonto on the 1950s TV series and lived not far from Bishop Kearney HS in Brooklyn ? ( Not likely, he died in 1980.) OR Could it be the answer to the show's weekly closing enigma, "Who was that masked man ?" Sorry, I can't say right now; I'm sworn to secrecy and I've said too much already.....
Keep your eyes and ears open, it should be an interesting week or nine days.
Nothing else needs to be said. This is from the Home Reporter for April 17th.
ReplyDelete- Local Republican Tim Cochrane, who ran for Congress in 2008 on the Conservative line, praised Golden. “Hands down,” he told this paper, “Marty is the least self-serving politician I know, no matter what the consequences. I’ve seen it time and again. I’ve known him for 20 years and we haven’t always been on the same page but Marty – right, wrong or indifferent -- gives it to you the way he thinks it is. -
If you believe all this, vote for Cochrane, if you don't, then don't
Are you certain that Mr. Cochrane is still the Marty Golden - "Republicans for Change" - annointed candidate for GOP County Chairman. Yesterday, I had another phone call from a usually reliable source, which indicated that Marty Golden had discussed the possibility of supporting another candidate in order to strip a block of Eaton-committed delegates.
DeleteIt's not clear whether this might be another offer by Golden or a confirmation of the first rumor of about ten days ago. Is there anybody who can provide any details about this (these) purported communications by State Senator Golden concerning his support for GOP County Leader or anything like them ?
btw, has Golden ever gone on the record and expressed his complete support for Timothy Cochrane as his choice for GOP County Leader ?
I also support Dr. Arnaldo Ferraro!
ReplyDeleteI even heard he is Italian!!!!!
Ok, Politics 101: Brooklyn Style
ReplyDeleteIf you are a candidate you should possess the following:
1) some level of education
2) some level of experience
3) some level of competence
4) some level of support
5) some level of judgement
Please tell us all gale what level each or any of the candidates you are referring to have any of the above qualities.
I have named no names.... I believe many people possess the talents, qualities and support that you mention above.
ReplyDeleteNo candidate has sought my vote.... it is premature for me to support anybody.... even by mentioning their name(s) as qualified to be County Leader.
UPDATE: ANOTHER SERIES OF LETTERS ARE SENT OUT BY EATON'S SUPPORTERS -- THE "BROOKLYN REPUBLICANS"
ReplyDeleteOne of the letters is from former Congressman Bob Turner, who recounts how Kings County Republican Chairman Craig Eaton was the first major Republican figure to back Turner's run for the suddenly-opened Weiner seat; and more important, that Eaton was all-in to win the seat from the beginning.
There is also a personal letter from Craig Eaton, wherein he describes his job as County Chairman and how he carried out his duties.
