Another cover-up and fiasco exposed: by attorney for whistleblower with close knowledge of Benghazi attack of 9/11/12 --- Lawyer says 400 surface-to-air missiles "diverted to Libya" fell into the wrong hands during the attack on Benghazi
Newsmax and Breitbart are reporting that, "In an interview with Washington, D.C., radio station WMAL on Monday, Beltway lawyer Joe diGenova said he 'does not know whether [the missiles] were at the annex, but it is clear the annex was somehow involved in the distribution of those missiles'..." (See "Report: 400 US Surface-to-Air Missiles Went Missing in Benghazi" by Cathy Burke, 8/12/13, Newmax [http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/surface-air-missing-missiles/2013/08/12/id/520026#ixzz2bpmuO6cX]; also "Attorney for Whistleblower: 400 U.S. Missiles Stolen in Benghazi", by Awr Hawkins, 8/12/13, Breitbart/Big Peace [http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2013/08/12/Attorney-For-Benghazi-Whistleblower-400-U-S-Missiles-Stolen-In-Benghazi-Annex-Involved]).
The attorney for whisleblower, Mark Thompson, said the biggest concern right now is finding those missiles before they can be put to use. DiGenova said, "They are worried, specifically according to these sources, about an attempt to shoot down an airliner...." and in addition the intelligence community's concerns over the missing missiles fueled the fears leading to the closings of several embassies throughout the Middle East last week. "That's what this was all about," diGenova insisted. "... That's why they have lied repeatedly about what happened in Benghazi, because they are now responsible for all of the [ ] violence that happens as a result of this. This is a very serious matter."
UPDATE & BACKFILL: Attorney Joe diGenova’s comments tie into prior reports about a special State Department mission based in Benghazi to recover shoulder launched anti-air missiles from “Al Qaeda” and other Islamists in Libya (See “Benghazi Whistleblower’s Lawyer Warns of Stolen Missiles” by Jim Geraghty, 8/13/13, National Review Online/ The Campaign Spot [http://www.nationalreview.com/campaign-spot/355666/benghazi-whistleblowers-lawyer-warns-stolen-missiles-jim-geraghty]). According to Jim Geraghty, “The description DiGenova attributes to his client largely aligns with what is known about the U.S. mission in Benghazi....” [Note: Joe deGenova is a lawyer for Mark Thompson, a whistleblower who testified before the Congressional Committee investigating Benghazi in May 2013.]
ReplyDeleteWAS THE CIA COVERING FOR THE STATE DEPARTMENT OR THE STATE DEPARTMENT COVERING FOR THE CIA ? ? ?
Specifically, here’s Geraghty’ precis of events leading up to the Benghazi meltdown: “During the Libyan civil war, the United States government at least tacitly supported the Qatari effort to arm the rebels, in violation of a U.N. arms embargo. The Obama administration later learned that the weapons were going to Islamists, and acknowledged that the postwar situation of unguarded stockpiles presented an enormous security threat to the region. The CIA was the centerpiece of an effort to recover these weapons, and that was indeed a major component of what the agency was doing in Benghazi in September 2012, in part using the State Department’s facilities. During this time, a large number of weapons, including anti-aircraft missiles, were leaving Libya and arriving in Turkey en route to Syrian rebels — and the CIA had personnel in both countries assigned to monitor and assist the arms shipments.”
NO MATTER HOW THE BENGHAZI DISASTER IS SPUN, IT IS VERY VERY BAD FOR FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY ( “WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE ! ? !”) CLINTON
According to his earlier report in the National Review, Jim Geraghty says that Stevens’ mission in Benghazi was to buy back Stinger missiles from al-Qaeda groups given to them by the State Department, not by the CIA. Although such a mission would usually be carried out by the CIA , insiders have said that the U.S. intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming “insurgents” with powerful weapons that would also be a potential danger to civilian aircraft around the world. In spite of that, Hillary Clinton and the rest of the Obama team wanted the transfer of weapons to proceed, in large part, because they wanted to overthrow the regime of Moammar Qaddafi on the cheap (See “The Stingers of Benghazi...” by Jim Geraghty, 5/24/13, National Review Online [http://www.nationalreview.com/article/349231/%5Btitle-raw%5D-jim-geraghty]; with cited quotes from “PJM EXCLUSIVE: Ex-Diplomats Report New Benghazi Whistleblowers with Info Devastating to Clinton and Obama” by Roger L. Simon, 5/21/13, PJMedia [http://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/2013/05/21/pjm-exclusive-ex-diplomats-report-new-benghazi-whistleblowers-with-info-devastating-to-clinton-and-obama/?singlepage=true]).
This resulted in putting the Libyan Ambassador Christopher Stevens into the position of having to clean up after the very questionable enterprise that had obviously gone bad after the fall of Qaddafi. This had become clear when it was being widely reported that many of the “insurgents” actually were with al-Qaeda. Indeed, it is quite possible that one of the groups that had been armed to fight Qaddafi, was the same group that later led the attack on the Benghazi "Consulate," and killed U.S. Ambassador/covert operative Christopher Stevens.
Could it be we lost these 400 Stinger missiles on purpose?
ReplyDeleteHere are somethings for you all to ponder.
I am a General and I need to beat the enemy at all cost because I know they are mentally ill.
They kill everything these Armies of demons even their own people
This is a war and most Americans have not a clue what is going on and I know this as a General.
This war is worldwide and the enemy is every where and the proof is on our own soil.
This is not a war that the lines are drawn it is every where
Sometimes a mistake can turn into a positive and you might have to use tactics that are unconventional as a General
Maybe the missiles are set to blow in their faces and take out 20 or 30 of them each time and as a General this is a victory and maybe I thought of this and what is it better to use 400 missiles and or drones or 5,000 soldiers.
Let them think, but can their General out beat me.
Maybe I put tracking devices inside of these 400 Stinger missiles and when they get inside their nest, I will send the Drones
Maybe these 400 missiles will lead me to a thousand of them?
You seem to enjoy the fact that we make mistakes or did we
Maybe the liberals should visit Arlington and see all the graves of the soldiers who have died for this country.
Maybe when we capture the enemy instead of housing them in a Hotel in Cuba and bidding their request for this and that.
Maybe we should execute them on National Television to make them think.
Maybe you all should just think before you put your country down.
Mistakes happen.
Sometimes you're crazy like a fox. --- However, most of the time you're just crazy !
ReplyDeleteThe line --- "You seem to enjoy the fact that we make mistakes...." is a cheap shot.
Pointing out those kinds of mistakes when somebody is trying to cover up facts that the public has a right to know is called "whistleblowing" for a reason. Reporting on it favorably is reporting on it favorably, because it fits the current political narrative of mainstream Republicans.
Most of the Benghazi whistleblowers are lifers in U.S. service and, to my way of thinking, full-time patriots.
Special Ops and Black Ops are a small edge of the point of the spear, they are backed up by rooms full of analysts and consultants, and computers and other resources (some not far removed from Ouija Boards).
If anybody got 400 Stingers, even older ones, that's a big deal. I hope that nobody did. However, in point of fact, Libya was awash with THOUSANDS of shoulder-launched M-PADs, mostly Russian SA-7s and SA-14s or Chinese HN-5s or FN-6s. The age and/or upgrades to these items is very important, especially if the targets have countermeasures systems on board.
As for rigging the missiles that were "stolen" -- whatever can be rigged can be unrigged. Much more likely, the M-PADs of whatever source or vintage had been gathered for trans-shipment to Syria via Turkey for use by the Syrian rebels. Now they are likely into the wind; and who knows where they might be.
I am crazy please understand what we do we have to be a little crazy and you have to learn to think.
ReplyDeleteI am crazy like a fox.
Its not a cheap shot, sometimes we have to cover up to protect you the America citizen and their are certain things that public can not know, sorry.
Who cares if they got Stingers we don't need them anymore.
Who cares they got shoulder launched M-PADS.
They can't be un rigged this is how we send the thousands and thousands of drones you never hear or read about.
Do you actual believe we are stupid.
Boy are you lost.
There are certain things you will never understand because we can't tell the newspapers or television.
PS: We have a new drone it's so small and it is operated from
Nifty couple of lines: "...Who cares if they got Stingers we don't need them anymore. *** Who cares they got shoulder launched M-PADS...."
