NewsLI.com reports that for the first time State Senator Martin Golden with the “Senate BiPartisan Task Force on Hurricane Sandy Recovery Tours Brooklyn and Staten Island”

This was the fourth meeting of the “Bipartisan Senate Task Force on Hurricane Sandy Recovery,” but this was the first time that this New York Senate Committee visited any areas in State Senator Martin Golden’s District   —   more than three months after the Hurricane hit.  —   What good is being accomplished by belated PR tours like this ?

The New York State Senate’s Bipartisan Task Force on Hurricane Sandy Recovery recently visited certain communities in Brooklyn and Staten Island to tour the storm damaged areas and talk with local officials, business leaders, and other individuals about the progress and challenges of the ongoing recovery efforts.

If you want paragraph after paragraph of pompous platitudes just like what you probably saw on TV right after the storm hit  IN  OCTOBER just look it up on NewLI.com at [http://www.newsli.com/2013/01/31/senate-bipartisan-task-force-on-hurricane-sandy-recovery-tours-brooklyn-and-staten-island/];  OR   —   by some strange coincidence  —  you can see the identical item  “Posted by Martin J. Golden on Thursday, January 31st, 2013” (as a press release without any other attribution) at his official NYS Senate webpage at [http://www.nysenate.gov/press-release/senate-bipartisan-task-force-hurricane-sandy-recovery-tours-brooklyn-and-staten-isla-0]

The fourth meeting of this committee!  How many PR events do these “bipartisan” state senators expect to get out of this storm ?  —  What is actually being done by the State Senate about the damage and the victims ?

  1. Why didn't Senator Golden go to an event where his presence might accomplish something ?

On January 31st State Senator Golden refused an invitation to attend a rally including Brooklyn's elected officials at Brooklyn College against an anti-Semitic event scheduled for February 7th to promote the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against the State of Israel. co-sponsored by the Brooklyn College Political Science Department.

    1. Based upon a conversation with a "Republican" leader who was at the Brooklyn College Rally of Community and Political leaders opposed to the Brooklyn College sponsored BDS program, it was reported to me that State Senator Golden's office sent his regrets and mentioned his prior commitment to attending the Hurricane Sandy Tour mentioned in the posting above.

  2. Just his regrets? I watched the videos. Dov Hikind didn't mention anything about a representative from Marty Golden's office attending to show support for Israel.

    1. Possibly, because Hikind was supposed be the Golden representative and "FORGOT" to mention the whole business about the Hurricane Sandy Committee, etc., because it clashed with the anti-BDS rally message being delivered at Brooklyn College by a certain wing of the Brooklyn Democratic Party.

Why this focus on Golden? He's a reliable ally on most things and so far isn't causing any problems in the irregular orbits of Hikind, Greenfield and Felder.

    2. Whats does any of all that mean?

Is'nt Hikind backing somebody in his primary against Greenfield?

Whats' Golden going to do about such things? If its' nothing what good is it an whats' the difference it can make?
