MEDIA CHAOS --- According to several outlets, no body has been located or identified in a burnt out cabin where Christopher Dorner is believed to have made his last stand against California Police Officers
“MAJOR UPDATE” : The Los Angeles Police Department has told reporters that no body has been identified in the cabin in which Christopher Dorner was believed to have been hiding, following a shootout and fire. *** "No body has been located yet," Commander Andrew Smith said, telling reporters that the building was still too hot for investigators to enter. *** "That burned cabin has not even been entered by investigators yet," Smith said. "We are still on a holding pattern to search that.*** Earlier reports had indicated that a body had been identified...." Multiple news outlets found themselves with apparent egg on their face after their reports that alleged California killer Christopher Dorner was dead were refuted by the Los Angeles Police Department.
As President Obama was giving his State of the Union address, CBS News tweeted that a body believed to be that of Dorner had been found in a burned-out cabin. CNN soon followed. So did ABC and NBC News. So did local Los Angeles stations. All cited either the LAPD or, in NBC's case, the LA mayor's office.”
AT 1:00 AM EST, 1/13/13, THERE ARE CONFLICTING REPORTS AS TO WHETHER CHRISTOPHER DORNER IS DEAD INSIDE A SURROUNDED BURNT CABIN IN THE BIG BEAR MOUNTAIN AREA NORTHEAST OF METROPOLITAN LOS ANGELES....
UPDATE: It is again being reported that a charred body has been found inside the burned-out cabin near Big Bear Lake east of Los Angeles. Identification of that body has not yet been made and further forensic testing is being performed. ReplyDeleteUPDATE: Yesterday evening the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Office put out a statement that the human remains found after a fiery standoff at a California mountain cabin Tuesday were, in fact, those of Christopher Dorner.
ReplyDeleteTwo days after the original confused media announcements of his death, Christopher Dorner, the ex-Los Angeles police officer who willfully had declared himself to be in a state of vengeful civil war against his former law enforcement colleagues, has been confirmed dead by county authorities in California. A written statement by authorities confirmed that "The charred human remains located in the burned out cabin in Seven Oaks have been positively identified to be that of Christopher Dorner....
