When I saw that Berardelli post on December 22, 2012, I said to myself, "SELF, this should be rich indeed, since absolutely nothing "New" or "Normal" could possibly escape the gravitational pull of the Brooklyn bariatric blackhole, known far and wide (perhaps a bad choice of words) as Gene Berardelli.”
Almost two weeks ago, Berardelli (and presumably his sidekick Gallo) made a "We're Baaaack" announcement on what used to be called Berardelli's vanity blog, the “Brooklyn GOP Radio -Official- Show Blog” with some fanfare and trumpeting. In words that often have been imbued with solemn emotion by the likes of Jonathan Pryce, John Gielgud, Henry Irving, and a raft of lesser lights like Olivier, Burton and Branagh, “....The rest is silence.” However, in this instance, the Berardelli buildup and let-down is not really so dramatic. It is unfortunately only the product of something that is equal parts silent and deadly. To which my Horatio to Berardelli’s Hamlet would have to respond, “Now cracks a noble fart...” And, inasmuch as Gene Berardelli couched his announced return to blogging completely in the context of a return from the dire effects of “Hurricane” Sandy, of necessity we would have to add that the silence that followed would have to be credited as a noble fart cracked in the face of a windstorm and to observe that it had the characteristic utility of such an exercise.
Among the few “new” items that have recently appeared on Berardelli’s blog are retweets extolling Congressman Bob Turner’s voting “Yes” on the bill to avoid “The Fiscal Cliff” — we don’t need any of that kind of Republicanism or any more of those kinds of Republicans. GOP and Conservative Party leaders, please, take note.
UPDATE: Obviously, in response to the post above, Berardelli had to come up with something for his blog, the "Brooklyn GOP Radio -Official- Show Blog"; was this the best that he could do? "Wednesday, January 2, 2013 -- Consultant Gerry O'Brien Featured on CBS2 Report -- By Gene R. Berardelli, Esq." http://brooklyngopradio.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThis post is not about the Brooklyn GOP, it's not about the state GOP and it's not about the national GOP. It's not about any Brooklyn Republican office holder or anything that any Brooklyn Republican might care about other than Gerry O"Brien and his three closest GOP friends.
If you really look at the CBS clip, you would see that it has nothing to do with O'Brien or even his business. In his part in the CBS segment, O'Brien is shown giving a few lines of free advice to Mayor Michael Bloomberg about Bloomberg's legacy. [Earth to Gene: Mayor Bloomberg is unlikely to have ever heard of Gerry O'Brien and Bloomberg is even less likely to listen to anything that O'Brien has to say about Bloomberg's legacy.
Berardelli's post isn't really ABOUT Gerry O'Brien either. The entire item in Beradelli's blog is little more than a bit of "product placement" for O'Brien's consulting business.
