Bob Capano and Marty Golden on same page protecting Police Officers

Following “New Leadership” Bob Capano’s 2016 petition for action by the legislature, Albany senators put forward "COMMUNITY HEROES PROTECTION ACT"

CAPANO APPLAUDS INTRODUCTION OF "COMMUNITY HEROES PROTECTION ACT" TODAY IN ALBANY  ---  AND HE SAYS:   "The Police Have Constitutional Rights Too...."  Then he emphasized:  "... The 'Pursuit of Happiness' Includes Returning From Your Shift Alive And Without Bullet Holes...."

Bob Capano is the nephew of two retired Brooklyn cops. Earlier this year and late last year, Capano collected over 3,000 petition signatures for a New York State Blue Lives Matter law. Today he applauded State Senator Fred Akshar, his own State Senator Martin Golden and other members of the state senate for introducing the "Community Heroes Protection Act," (S.1114a) at a session of the NY State Senate in the state's capital in Albany.

Capano is a leading Republican candidate for Brooklyn's 43rd Council district (Bay Ridge, Dyker heights, Bensonhurst); and today, he said that  ---  "The police have constitutional rights too. The 'pursuit of happiness' includes returning from your shift alive and without bullet holes. There is an attitude in a segment of society that you can mouth off to the police, disregard instructions from an officer, and resist arrest….   Black Lives Matter has done enormous damage to American law enforcement and we must do all we can to protect our police. I commend Senator Akshar and Senator Golden, who always has the backs of our cops, for introducing this legislation with his colleagues in the state senate."

In a written statement, published on the internet by various means, Bob Capano noted:   According to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund there was a 56% increase in law enforcement officers killed in shooting related incidents last year….   The ‘Community Heroes Protection Act’ would categorize crimes against first responders, such as police officers, as hate crimes and therefore, would increase penalties by one category….”

UPDATE: THE “CAPANO BACK ON THE NATIONAL STAGE” EDITION

AS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL ISSUES IN THE PAST, BROOKLYN REPUBLICAN CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE BOB CAPANO IS BEING FEATURED AND QUOTED BY A NATIONAL MEDIA OUTLET

COUNCIL CANDIDATE’S CRITICAL REMARKS ABOUT MAYOR DE BLASIO’S PROPOSED SUPERVISED SHOOTING GALLERIES FEATURED BY “THE DAILY CALLER”

CAPANO POINTS OUT MAYOR’S PROPOSAL VIOLATES FEDERAL LAW

According to a report in the Daily Caller --- “A Republican candidate for New York City council doesn’t want his city to become America’s second location for a supervised drug injection site, or a ‘sanctuary city for drug users.’… Bob Capano told That Daily Caller on Monday that he wants to stop all efforts by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and council to push a drug injection site on that city’s residents…. Last Friday, Seattle became the first U.S. city to approve what was described by The Washington Post as a ‘safe’ injection site, where drug addicts can legally inject heroin under supervision from staff….Seattle is modeling its facility on North America’s first supervised injection site, located about 120 miles north, in Vancouver, British Columbia….” (See “NYC Council Candidate: Don’t Make Us A Sanctuary City For Drug Users” by David Krayden, 1/30/17, Daliy Caller/ Foundation [http://dailycaller.com/2017/01/30/nyc-council-candidate-dont-make-us-a-sanctuary-city-for-drug-users/]).

In addition, Bob Capano “… says the mayor and council ‘should be spending their time, energy, and our taxpayer money solving the homeless crisis and getting addicts the professional help they need instead of creating taxpayer funded shooting galleries in our neighborhoods.’ Capano also questioned how law enforcement could enforce drug laws with city hall providing a place for drug users to shoot up. Capano, a former senior staffer for two Republican members of Congress, Vito Fossella and Bob Turner, said the federal Controlled Substance Act makes it unlawful to ‘knowingly open, lease, rent, use, or maintain any place, whether permanently or temporarily, for the purpose of manufacturing, distributing, or using any controlled substance.’…”

Here's something that Republicans and Conservatives can't answer. If they couldn't beat Gentile since Golden went up against him the first time, what makes them think they can beat anybody, anywhere and anymore in Kings County?

UPDATE: THE “BATTLING ON MANY FRONTS” EDITION

BOB CAPANO GOES HEAD-ON AGAINST JUSTIN BRANNAN, ONE OF THE REPUBLICAN’S CITY COUNCIL OPPONENTS --- AND THE ISSUE IS >>> CHARTER SCHOOLS

“DEM COUNICL CANDIDATE BRANNAN MUST STAND UP FOR STUDENTS, NOT HIS BOSS DE BLASIO," SAYS BAY RIDGE GOP CANDIDATE CAPANO

According to Capano --- “Justin Brannan, who was one of the first to endorse Mayor de Blasio and was rewarded with a plumb position in his Department of Education, must show he is willing to stand up to his boss and join me in supporting Governor Cuomo's proposal to lift the cap on charter schools in our city.”

During testimony to the state legislature in Albany yesterday, Mayor de Blasio opposed Governor Cuomo's proposal to eliminate New York City's charter school cap.

Today, Bob Capano a Republican candidate for Brooklyn's 43rd Council District (Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst), called on Justin Brannan, a Democratic candidate, to stand up for Brooklyn students and separate himself from his former boss.

Bob Capano is a Bay Ridge resident, who graduated from Saint Patrick's Elementary School and Xaverian High School. In his latest public statement on the issue, Bob Capano says that he supports school choice for all our students; and he challenged one of his Democrat opponents, as follows: “Justin Brannan, who was one of the first to endorse Mayor de Blasio and was rewarded with a plumb position in his Department of Education, must show he is willing to stand up to his boss and join me in supporting Governor Cuomo's proposal to lift the cap on charter schools in our city. Mayor de Blasio and Mr. Brannan's Department of Education have done everything possible to block attempts to expand school choice in Brooklyn and New York City."

Capano is a Bay Ridge resident?

Justin Brannan being the Democratic nominee is the Republicans best chance to win the City Council seat. May he cruise to victory in the primary.

He just rented an apartment in Bay Ridge.

But he's keeping his "summer house" on Staten Island. :-)

RESPONSE: THE "THAT'S NOT WHAT I HEARD" EDITION

YOU KNOW THAT I SPOKE TO BOB ABOUT THIS, AND HE INDICATED TO ME THAT HE WASN'T KEEPING HIS HOUSE ON STATEN ISLAND.....

A SUMMER PLACE ????? OMG, IT'S TIME FOR SOME SHOW MUSIC TRIVIA & A LITTLE ARCHITECTURAL DIGESTION

Did you know that Max Steiner wrote the "Theme to 'A Summer Place'" ??? That's very interesting because he also wrote "Tara's Theme" (obviously, a much bigger place for all year round) from GWTW --- and most important, he wrote all of the musical themes for/to the movie version of "The Fountainhead" --- and that's a movie that's just filled with lots of perfect places, big and small (Frank Lloyd Wright also did a bunch of drawings for that movie but they were never used).

Well, according to realty records, Bob's lovely Staten Island home is not on the market, nor has it been since he purchased it.

Speaking of Max Steiner, did you know he was a child prodigy who became a working composer at 15? His first big Hollywood film was King Kong.

RESPONSE: THE "WELL, EXPLAIN TO ME WHY..." EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 1:54 PM"

I'm not quite up to speed on the progress of the sale of Bob's (and his wife's) house on Staten Island, but facts are facts....

Here's a fact: earlier tonight, Curtis Sliwa and Nancy Regula visited with Bob Capano and his wife Nancy at their apartment in Bay Ridge.

More about that soon....

I'm sure there was plenty of space in Bob's "apartment"
